supernatural AU where Dean and Sam meet Castiel as a hunter in season one they eventually meet his brother Gabriel.

Castiel and Gabriel are hunters though Gabriel is a retired hunter and he wants Castiel to retire as well.

Here’s a thing though Castiel and Gabriel are dormant angels (meaning they only become full angels after they die)

Things are going well until Cass gets killed on a hunt with Dean and Sam in early season three.

This causes Gabriel (whos is in a bad spot) to kill himself and then come back as an angel/Tricster, and because he took his own life he remembers his life as a human. This leads to the episode “mystery spot” where instead of Gabriel just killing Dean over and over again to make Sam learn a lesson, he’s doing it because he’s pissed about Castiel who he thinks is truly dead.

after Castiel pulls Dean out of hell it’s revealed that Castiel (because he didn’t die by his own hand) doesn’t remember his human life therefore he doesn’t remember Dean or the fact that Dean and him we’re kind of in love with each other. So this time instead of Dean falling in love with Cass it’s Cass falling in love with Dean.

AND they kiss in the season finale because I fucking said so.
