I discovered someone in the Knightingale Sewers! Yono assumes that his story is tragic but the Phantom doesn't see it that way and explains that he moved down there after his love died peacefully of old age because she was human, and now (after having his music box returned) he plans to vanish further down into the sewers to compose brilliant music :)

So I downloaded this game called Yono and the Celestial Elephants because it was on sale and it’s really freaking cute. Like, just look at it!

A simple puzzle adventure game where you get to play as a fat elephant with a floppy trunk? Sign me the heck up! It’s a little juvenile, with a jaunty soundtrack and comical animations, but I am super not above playing a kid’s game. But then sometimes in the dialogue I run into stuff like this.

O-oh. Yes, you’re right of course, Mr. Executioner Man.

Sometimes this game is about a floppy elephant traveling the world and sometimes it’s an existential debate about the nature of life and this is a lot heavier than what I thought I signed up for.

Shout out to the makers of Yono and the Celestial Elephants, a fun and silly kid’s game, for adding a canon lesbian. I was just hanging around in skeleton town and came across’s this human lady talking about how she came here to see if she could restore her lover to life. Then she insults me for being unable to bring ‘even one woman’ back.

Sure, I would rather have seen a happy couple, but since there is a very limited cast and almost no couples at all in the game, I’ll take it. Casual/background rep is good in kid’s games. More media with worldbuilding that isn’t weirdly homogenous and heteronormative!
