i just had the most clear idea of what i think the paladins could be like. yk when friends are dating and they have another friend whos like their kid and just goes everywhere with them? yeah hear me out

hunk and lance do that to pidge platonically during garrison times, they just drag pidge to things and stuff and joke about pidge being their son or whatever, typical teenage friends stuff

and then they're paladins and there's Events and then ultimately klance but with lance's bestie husband and their bestie kid, so now keith is another one of pidges bestie parents. and obviously if lance is allowed to have his codependent friend family basically infused into the relationship, keith gets shiro fused in. and obviously allura and coran are inducted as "ex girlfriend turned group mom and the obligatory weird uncle" and then ppl like shay and romelle get involved and it all becomes so complicated that they have a very well documented family tree that hunk and lance are making with photos and red string because they started tacking people on and now they obviously can't stop since theyre on a roll and "kosmo counts as Keith's kid right? pidges step sibling?" and there's a whiteboard involved and its sparked several heated debates.
