That thing that boys (and some girls) do, where they pretend to hit you. Like just air punching like a boxer near your face or head, never intending to cause harm. It's typically a sign of affection like play fighting or a want to bond by wrestling.

Robotnik does this to Stone.

Yes, the doctor does hit his agent, but that's usually a show of possession when he feels his place is threatened in Stone's life.

But behind closed doors, back in the privacy of the lab, Robotnik will get this burst of energy at seeing Stone do the most mundane shit. Like girls with cute aggression that just wanna bite something. So he'll stalk over to the other man and just go ham. Throwing so many air punches from all directions. None of them make contact. Nothing but a rush of air.

His form is terrible. Even if some of those hits were to land, it likely wouldn't hurt all that much, and Stone doesn't even twitch. He watches his doctor bob and weave like he's in a match. A grin on the older man's face. He spews playful taunts, goading Stone into action.

Stone holds back from participating. Not sure if engaging back in the play would be welcomed from the often skiddish doctor. So he stands, locking his muscles slightly and enjoys the attention.

And when the energy burns off and Robotnik is left somewhat confused about why he wanted to play fight his agent at all. That sudden burst of affection he felt melting into mortification. Well, a quick jab in the stomach to send the agent to his knees will make sure the message is sent.

"Left yourself open."

It wouldn't do Stone to look too deeply into that.

if ONLY because i was at work yesterday out in the play yard and one of the babies from the one year old room walked up to me, held up her arms and went "up. up" and i caved like a wet fucken nOODLE and im inflicting that onto Bruce

so im just picturing like, roughly 18mo Danny, just absolutely teeny, walking up to Bruce in the Batman suit, grabbing his cape and pulling on it to get his attention or plastering himself to the side of his legs (<- real experience i've had) and when Bruce looks down at him Danny just goes "Bah-man, bah-man. Up."

and im teLLING YOU. Bruce would cave in a fucking heartbeat.

or if he crouches down, Danny will just crawl onto him anyways. wraps both arms around his neck and tries to raise his leg over his knee so he can wrap himself around his waist (<- ALSO A REAL EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD)

also he can't fully articulate himself yet, he doesn't have all of his teeth quite yet and phonetics are harD, so he can't say Bruce it just sounds like "boo" or "booce" like 'boost' but without the 't'.

People — well, it's very much a small minority of people — complaining that CritRole has told us nothing with this first announcement / teaser really don't know about or remember how most D20 seasons are first announced, huh. like, half the time we get a title and date for the trailer, and that's it.

TRW was announced with a short video of Matt and NOTHING else, not even a title or a setting. NSBU was announced with a gif of Brennan in various outfits, so just the tone. How many movies and games these days are announced or teased with merely a logo, a date, and a snippet of the main musical theme.

The C4 announcement told us quite a lot for a "details to follow" teaser if you, like, don't calamitize every little turn of phrase and remember it's focused on the biggest changes and actually take the information at what it says rather than trying to dissect it for subtext or expect a teaser to hand you the entire pitch doc. be patient. It's a teaser / initial announcement. details to follow.

i want to talk about how crazy this line "brown like the gaze that sought jean out in every room" actually is. because what does this mean????

jean has noticed that whenever jeremy walks into a room he immediately does a scan to find jean. so what? these boys are so attuned to each other already that jean actually notices jeremy looking for him?

nora are you trying to say that there's a shift in jeremy once he finds jean in any given place?? does his body relax? do his eyes soften or shine a little brighter? you're telling me it's a physical visible thing that jeremy walks into a room and his first thought is "where is jean?" and then what?? when he finds him he goes "ah there he is" and there's a shift??? in him??? when he sees jean?? and jean can see that? he's aware of it?? he's noticed it?? it makes him feel safe enough to associate jeremy's searching brown eyes (searching for him. for Jean.) with everything else that brings him peace??? like are we hearing this???
