shimeji simulation ended... what a dark and captivating exploration of what it means to exist as yourself alongside and within others and the ways that that can lead to creation and destruction

it starts out as a simple absurdist comedy and it unravels into something i have trouble putting into words it feels very personal and honest the feelings of fear and loneliness that come from being and this nihilist feeling that everything is meaningless but also how maybe the simple joys of human connection are worth something

it leaves me with this pit in my stomach that feels like a void and a massive weight this dense complexity and this ethereal nothingness woven together and at the end all i can say is that it has deeply effected me and its uh really good go read it i guess

i just finished season 1 of love thy neighbor/love your neighbor by willow and i cant recommend it enough its insanely good and i cant wait for season 2

its the reason for my post about age gaps cause the main characters are 24 and 40 and is the perfect example of what i was talking about there its hard to pick out individual things cause its all so good but the depth of these characters their pasts and how that made them who they are are all very front and center and effect the plot and relationship between the two a lot even though we get relatively little about them until quite far in

pah doyeon might be the most interesting and compelling protagonist ive seen her behavior and actions and thoughts as they change over the course of the story is i think the main reason i found it as gripping as i did

i like jinju a lot as well shes more simple to understand and you get more detail about her earlier but theres still a lot to her that isnt quite clear

the both of them and their complexity as people mixed with the complexity of their situation is just perfect and puts love thy neighbor straight up to the top of my favorite yuri works i absolutely adore this kind of comic that gives me tons to think about the motivations and feelings of the characters and the cliffhanger ending of season 1 is making me so excited for more

oh yeah and also the sex scenes are fantastic and actually serve to strengthen the story and dynamic while still also being really hot and great
