if you're upset about the voice actor strikes in Hoyoverse games because you miss the voices, congratulations! You've found The Point. this is what happens when companies try to use AI. People quit or get fired.

You have a valid reason to be upset about it. Nobody likes when characters aren't voiced. And that's the entire point of the strike; that voice acting is crucial for Hoyoverse's games.

What's important is recognizing that it's the VOICE RECORDING STUDIO'S fault, not the voice actors themselves. It's not their fault that Formosa Interactive decided to use their voices for AI without their consent. Nobody would quit their job unless they had a good reason for it.

Support your favorite voice actors. Always. Give them love and recognition. And do all that you can to shit on Formosa Interactive for using AI training on their voice actors.

I know it's debatable whether Lucanis uses nicknames or pet names for people—I personally lean toward mostly no. I don't think he uses them lightly, at least—he’s not throwing them around—but I also think it has more to do with how distant he keeps himself from other people. Nicknames/pet names/endearments are typically things that are earned and are usually measures of closeness that he, as he admits, does not feel with other people. The formality he keeps to is just another wall. Unconsciously, in my opinion, but it’s there all the same. I do think he has to feel a level of closeness to deviate from that formality a lot of the time unless given explicit permission.

Old habits, y’know?

All that said, I do headcanon that he has one for Sel that is used sparingly, only when they’re alone, that does have meaning behind it. He does also only call her Selora when it’s v serious and/or when he’s being annoying. The rest of the time it’s Rook. I do occasionally imagine a conversation happening about it not unlike the one between Elizabeth and Darcy at the end of P&P 2005. And then I die :)
