Lines of code are abstract. Lines of suggestion less so, arbitrary natures unwound and unfolded to be folded again, reality as a system not of matrices but folding furniture, easy to collapse under the stress equivalent to weight. Dots in themselves are actually Void.

Substance is lines drawn between nothing, pathways between unreachable destinations. That is to say that the sleeping god poses a question and so long as that remains unanswered it remains asleep, so long as it is asleep the question remains unanswered. It is a logical improbability, not impossible, but teetering the line between 0 and something that is more sure and more stable than a whole number. There are only whole numbers in reality; true numbers are to whole numbers what whole numbers are to wavering guestimated decimels.

Portions, if you could call it that, of absolute nothingness are true information. Spheres of nothing, gateways, marked by lines. Lines are the true nothing, arbitrary and only existent in a dreamt world. They are the dream, to which 0 is the dreamer. Isolation, repetition, repeat.

True information is Void. True information is absorbed by the sleeping god, true information is Void. It is removed from reality by right of it being incompatible with our reality, the sleeping god is vacuous and void of all intelligence as we know it since all information in our reality is pregnant dreaming, falsity, manifestations and simulations of true information.

The nature of the Gateway is thus: navigation through true information. There is a truth, there is a Sun, a central black hole around which somethingness is sustained.

The Sky acts as a crystalline gateway. Each glass sheet is a portal to perceptual understanding. Reflecting. Each glass sheet: An eye, several. Indra's Web. Data manifold, unfolded.

Trine-headed. Emotions. Attraction-neutrality-repulsion. Smiling-crying-angry. Intricate weaving of tendrils, for tendrils are eyes and tendrils are wants made. God wants for data. God wants for perspective.

Hollow imitations of holes, cookie-cutter humanoid shapes one after the other along lines dissected into the sleeping flesh of God. Planes. Collectives. Decaptition, masturbation, elation, revelation. The claiming and experience and rearranging of information is the key to true Knowing.

Ok, I totally didn't see that coming, though I should have, since the name "Tawil" was dropped at the end of the first arc. I just didn't realize/notice Tawil was that Tawil: Umr-at Tawil, the Most Ancient One, the Guide, etc. etc. (Though some people were saying Bai 6 acted more like Nyarlathotep than Yog-Sothoth with the messing around with humanity, and I kinda agreed with that, but it does make sense to be Y-S with the multiple world-lines stuff.)

So does this mean this is another one of those weird self-cest stories? That'll be second infinite flow self-cest webnovel I'll have read this year, huh.

Lovecraftian Influence in ORV (part 2):

Disclaimer: idk if all the parallels are intentional; I'm not an expert on Lovecraft; this is defo not going to contain all the stuff in detail or even all the stuff coz like I said, I ain't an expert 1. Textual parallels:

Both ORV & Lovecraftian lore emphasize the cyclical nature of time and existence. In ORV, Dokja's regressions and the ever-repeating scenarios of "Ways of Survival" mirror the cyclical dreams of Azathoth. Similarly, Lovecraft's stories often feature ancient entities trapped in endless cycles of slumber and awakening.

The motif of uncaring gods and the dangers of seeking ultimate knowledge is central to both Lovecraftian mythos and ORV.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. - H.P. Lovecraft

In the mythos, Yog-Sothoth embodies the totality of time and space, existing outside our linear perception. It has the ability to manipulate time in non-linear ways, creating alternate realities and diverging timelines. Imagine a tapestry of time, and Yog-Sothoth meticulously snipping sections and reconnecting them in impossible geometries, birthing new worlds and realities into existence. Similar is ORV's "square circle". Imagine a perfect circle, representing a closed timeline, yet simultaneously containing its own square corners, moments of choice and potential divergence.

Crawling Chaos(one of the names of Nyarlathotep) is directly mentioned in ORV: (look at the phrasing- myths that were prototype of Ways of Survival)

Character parallels:

Most Ancient Dream & Azathoth: This one's a no-brainer.

Both are dreaming entities who shape reality without conscious intent- while Azathoth is a blind god who's unconsciously dreaming up the universe & MAD is a traumatized child who's dreaming up stories as a coping mechanism.

The "idiot god" aspect of Azathoth resonates with MAD too. Both are unaware or atleast have a lack of choice/control. Their dreams & reality itself are in a continuous loop

The "uncaring god" aspect of Azathoth resonates with the MAD's desire for new stories rather than any sense of morality or concern for its creations.

2. Nyarlathotep & Secretive Plotter:

Nyarlathotep is said to be the puppet/avatar of Azathoth while YJH/Secretive Plotter is labeled as the puppet of MAD.

Nyarlathotep views humanity as playthings, pawns in his game. He's often described as a harbinger of apocalypse, acts on an enigmatic agenda seemingly tied to chaos and destruction. While Secretive Plotter's goal was to meet-kill MAD & end the cycle of regressions once & for all through an apocalypse.

3. The Hounds of Tindalos:

The Hounds of Tindalos are creatures created by Frank Belknap Long and later incorporated into the Cthulhu Mythos. Both the names of Hounds of Tindalos & Hounds Chasing After the Abyss have been mentioned in the text. So, it's a direct reference.

5. Shub-Niggurath & tls123/1863hsy: disclaimer: Lovecraft's work is unfortunately riddled with racist and xenophobic imagery and tropes, particularly regarding Shub-Niggurath.

Shub-Niggurath is said to be the "Mother of All Gods" & we can compare tls123 to her in the same vein as tls123 is the author of TWSA while 1864hsy is the author(or co-author) of ORV. "tls" represents the Korean word for "god" as the keys for T, L, and S correspond to the letters ㅅ, ㅣ, and ㄴ on the Korean keyboard. => tls123 is the author-god of the universe

(tls123 is also kinda similar to Azathoth in having no power over their creations)

6. Randolph Carter & the 0th YJH: Randolph Carter is a recurring character in many stories from Lovecraft's Dream Cycle series. He also features in an unfinished short story called "Azathoth". In Azathoth, Randalph travels through space and time in his dream-form, and is drawn to the nighted throne of the far daemon-sultan Azathoth, the blind idiot god who rules over chaos and creation. Like, Randalph, 0th YJH chooses to regress because he wants to meet MAD

It's like an image burned into your corneas. Because it's so fucking big and you are so insignificant that no matter how close you are its still the same static image. Enough to drive someone to insanity. On security footage, it's the same. In black and white footage, it is the same cosmic rainbow mess but it's s t i l l.

Eldritch Kenny Fanfiction Backstory

So I'm working on my fanfic, "The Perks of Being an Eldritch Abomination", a fic where Kenny gains more visibly inhuman traits as he gets older due to his connection with Cthulhu a la "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." And even though it's not going to be important to the story at all, I came up with a whole backstory about why Kenny is the way he is. (Though a lot of this could also work in canon too.) So much so that I may have to write a whole new fanfiction for the new story this inspires. Alright, here goes.

Since in canon Kenny’s parents went to the cult meeting for the promise of free beer and thus can’t remember anything on account of being wasted, in my story the beer was a lure to get an outsider to come to the meeting. The cult slipped something in their drinks to knock them out and preformed a ritual on Kenny’s mom to impregnate her with the son of their god. Kenny was the result. She just assumed that Stuart was the father because he was the only person she was with at the time. So Kenny is in fact half human half elder god, that's where his immortality comes from, as well as the other changes exclusive to my fanfiction. The ritual didn’t affect his personality though, so he stays good throughout.

Though the main inspiration for my story was "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" I also took inspiration from another H.P. Lovecraft story "The Dunwich Horror", which is about a poor family in a small, rural town where a woman gives birth to a boy who's the son of Yog-Sothoth, another elder god. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? (Honestly I might have taken more from this story than from "Shadow") Especially the part about how Wilbur (the boy) has a tendency to keep himself bundled up in layers to hide his otherworldly appearance. (Though he does keep his face exposed.) Since, canonically, we know Kenny has some sort of connection to Cthulhu because of the immortality, and he also has a tendency to stay bundled up, it was too big a connection to ignore. One aspect of the story of "The Dunwich Horror" is that Wilbur is trying to open the gate between our reality and the reality of the elder gods and summon the Elder Gods over here. So, that's also the cult's objective with Kenny, and why they did all this in the first place. Of course, like "Shadow Over Innsmouth", the main difference between Kenny and Wilbur is morality and intent. While Wilbur is totally ok with the plan to open the gates, Kenny absolutely would not be, and would try his best to stop it. I also thought it would be cool if it was a cyclical thing. Since the Elder Gods are explicitly real in the South Park universe I like to think that both of those stories actually happened in-universe, with H.P. Lovecraft being a nonfiction author. Thus, the cult attempted to open the gate in the 1920's 100 years ago with Wilbur, now they're trying again with Kenny.

(Also a fun fact I learned while writing the fic, the sea captain who makes first contact with The Deep Ones? His name is Captain Obed Marsh. That's why I had Stan be the one to confront Kenny first, to add one more parallel.)

(Not a request, questions) What if Greek God Apollo and Greek Goddess Aphrodite meets s Lovecraftian beings like Hastur, Yog, Nyarlathotep etc?

I feel like you picked two opposing ends of a spectrum, haha. The Greek Gods created in human image, the epitome of beauty and virtue and in this case representing healing, protection and love. Then you have Lovecraft’s Gods that are completely foreign to anything Earthly. Deformed, repugnant creatures that exist independently of human beliefs. Some of the latter, like Yog-Sothoth, may assist humans with their invocations, although the reasoning behind it is probably entirely different.

So I personally feel that at the very least, they’d be extremely wary, if not downright revolted. Greek mythology has a lot of monster-like creatures that are neutral or good as well, though overall I suspect the tendency is more towards considering them evil. If something looks alien, it’s not to be trusted. Maybe it depends on the circumstances of the encounter. My knowledge of Greek mythology is also very rusty, I think I haven’t opened a related book since middle school. ;-;
