"It's actually kind of therapeutic," Jenny stated as she moved through the barn and dropped the hay in each stall. "Not only does it allow me ride time but considering I haven't seen either of parents or siblings- It just gives me time to not think, you know? Plus the horses are really good listeners."

"We all make mistakes and learn from them," Jenny offers. "Isn't that what our twenties are for? Besides it's not like it was you, ya know? Woulda been way worse if you were in the right state of mind, right?"
"You would be alone in that thought but it's appreciated," she replied jokingly, unable to help but laugh. Sure 15 year old was super badass but 25 year old her? She had become lame, though the occasional car hot-wiring was a cool party trick. "They do, and I wish I used them instead of what I did," she sighed. "Okay maybe not but you get where I'm going with this"

She catches a soft breath in the back of her throat, resisting the urge to say I told you so before eventually releasing it and turning to lower herself down beside the male, single hand rising and falling against his thigh before offering a faint smile. "You don't have to play macho man in front of me, Arynn," Jenny quips before a solemn nod follows. "Yes but there's been no deaths as of yet so at least we have that going for us. It was all just a twisted mental game."
"Jen..." The name was spoken with mixed emotions. The last person he wanted to see him in the aftermath of such magic use was Jennifer. It was like karma had been just itching to get the two of them together for such a moment; so Arynn was forced to sit in the very state that she had constantly worried he'd find himself in.
It was a mellow situation, in all honesty, compared to how far gone he could have been. Yet, both of them knew: he wouldn't be as ragged as he no doubt looked if he hadn't tapped into it. The dark magic; the magic Jennifer had all but begged him to give up so they could stay together.
"Yeah, totally. Absolutely... peachy." He gave the woman a pitiful attempt at his useful charming jokes and just sighed heavily. "There we so many people here..."

A glance over at the other's jack-o-lantern had a faint smile tugging at her lips, her own digits moving to replace the top of her own before looking down at it and grimacing at how amateur it looked compared to the witch's. "If there's a competition consider me not running in it," Jenny jested, soft laughter rising in her chest as she gave a shake of her head and lowered the pumpkin back to the table. "Yours always looks so incredible. I don't get it. I follow my stencil to a tee and it always looks like a child did it next to yours."

the witch beamed with pride as she placed the top of the pumpkin back onto her jack o'lantern. "perfect babes." she spoke softly to the pumpkin, turning it slightly to the left and right as she looked upon her masterpiece. she might have use a little magic to help her but that had always been her secret technic come this time of year. "do you think the mikaelsons will be judging them?"

She was beyond fortunate to have managed to get her hands on a more realistic looking Wonder Woman costume to don to the Mikaelson party, grin plastered to her lips as she entered the compound with her small group of friends all dressed in various DC hero costumes. Laughter and small talk was made amongst the group, gazes flittering around the compound as they tried to decide what they wanted to do first when her gaze caught onto a familiar face and she fell quiet, almost sullen before her frame was being nudged forward and her friends were waving her off, telling her they'd meet her at the bar before she eventually finally moved towards the male. "Little early for the party tricks and flirting, isn't it," Jenny questioned in a teasing tone from behind him as he passed out yet another flower with a soft, subtle compliment to the attendee. "Might come off a little desperate, tsk tsk."
A costume party was just the event the cities needed to help get their mind off the recent tragedies and focus on rebuilding and regathering themselves. Arynn was especially eager to attend - wanting to show off the exquisite work that Aliyah had put into helping him with his Prince Naveen costume for the evening. He could have probably managed alone, but he knew his elder sister and he had been wise to let her aid him in the endeavor.
He'd already gotten to work entertaining himself with several of the strangers that had started trickling into the Mikaelson family's compound; creating festive orange roses with his magic and offering them to a variety of young men and women with a 'handsome' here and a 'gorgeous' there, all paired with his signature warm smile. The party was about having fun and that was exactly what he intended to do.

"God you are the actual best," Jenny grins, lowering her pin to the nurse station desk and sitting back in her swivel chair. "Mr. Peterson in room 403 has been driving me insane and I've only been here like 10 minutes so we might be in for a very long night."
"Jenny!" Nova said her smile wideing in joy. Nova was relieved to see someone familar. "Heck yes I am." Nova said excited. "You know what night shift with me means." Nova said with a smirk waving the take out menu. It was one of the few things keeping her happy at this point.

"You're a stubborn lot," Jenny offers lightly, a soft laugh leaving her lips as she shakes her head. "Arynn is- yes, an idiot but I just- even though I know I should stand by my decision it's really hard. I still love him, Aliyah. I can't get him out of my head."
"actually it is that simple, simply arynn is just an idiot." aliyah shrugged, her fingertips lightly dancing on the metal of the telescope before she took over the spot, peering up into the night sky. "i truly don't know what you're trying to imply here, jen."

"Right," Jenny states excitedly, a grin plastered to her lips as she glances at the blonde beside her. "Almost like it was a puzzle and these two pieces were a perfect fit for each other. As someone from Mystic Falls, I will definitely never complain about an ocean view."
"There is. Like, there's a lot of chaos but it feels like the cities had...I don't know, a plan when they came together. The parks look nice together, the buildings didn't all smash into each other, suddenly Mystic Falls has an ocean view - really can't beat it," Ember smiled.

"Please, you seem like badass to me," Jenny counters. "I mean you chose Shego for a reason. Badass enough for me." A soft laugh eases from her lips, shoulders dropping as her frame begins to relax a little. "Oof. Can't say I envy you but hey at least you didn't hurt anybody? Shego's powers seem pretty lethal."
"But I'm not - that's the problem," she said, her badass days being locked away in Juvi along with all of her other troublesome hobbies. "Really bad, I don't even want to leave the house at this point"

"I'm sorry," Jenny offered softly as she glanced over at the blonde. "I know how hard it is to not have your family around especially with what's happening around here. How far along are you?"
"I know how you feel, I haven't seen my dad's or siblings since I got here" she said as she gently brushed one of the horse's sides. "I'm hoping I can come back and do this after giving birth"

"Woah easy, boy," Jenny cooed softly at the horse, hand rising to hold out as it calmed and pushed it's nose against her palm and her gaze drifted back to Kevin. "He's just playing with you. He's a mischievous little devil. It's alright, we can set you up with a different horse. Penelope is one of the calmer and gentler horses, she'd probably be perfect for you."
Kevin looked at Jenny and then at the horse. Kevin looked hesistantly at the horse. "I know it's for therapy but-"The minute the horse neighed Kevin rolled back in fright. "You seem very nice and the horse like you. But I don't think that horse likes me." Kevin said feeling his heart race.

Amusement twitched at her lips at the familiar voice, gaze shifting from the horse in the stall she was currently tossing hay into and allowing it to drift to Arynn before giving a playful roll of her eyes. "In their own way," Jenny quips before turning her attention back to the horse as it approaches her and her hand raises to scratch beneath its chin. "One of the few places, yeah," she admits softly, glancing back over at him, noting the healthier look to him, much like the version of him that she had fallen in love with. "You look- good."
"Do they ever talk back?" Arynn called out , tucking his hands into the pockets of his jeans and giving a small, smiling nod to the stranger she had been speaking with; watching them stroll away. He paced forward some and glanced around the barn before looking over the animals in their stables. "So this is where you've been hiding out?" He questioned in a lighthearted and gently teasing tone. All traces of the exhausted man she'd spoken with months ago were absent now, leaving behind only the Bennett witch oozing with St. John charm at every opportunity he could find.

"Okay but like Shego was a badass bitch," Jenny states with a soft laugh as she sits herself down beside the brunette. " Oof, that bad, huh?"
@darkskiesrpgstarters
"Oh my god I actually thought I was Shego," she muttered to herself as she ran a hand through her hair, "I mean I was kind of badass but still - that poor kid who's lip I bit"

She was fighting the inner desire to make some smartass remark about how she had totally seen this coming. His exhaustion, the depletion of his energy from having overexerted himself with his magic and yet she didn't. It wasn't needed at the moment because she was more than sure that he already knew it himself and so instead, she settled herself down beside him with a deep sigh. A hand moving to fall atop his knee. "Hey," Jenny greets, voice soft as dark irises settle on his features. "You okay?"
Calm down. It's all over. No need to be on edge. Just let it fade away. Arynn's head hung into his hands as he sat along the edge of a cracked fountain in the courtyard and curled into himself with exhaustion. He was worn out and wanted nothing more than to just go home and collapse in his bed, but he couldn't shake the feeling that maybe he should stick around just a little bit longer. Just in case.
The repercussions of the evening were more prominent in his features than he would've liked - darkened, sunken sockets around his eyes and it was like some of the color in his skin had been dulled or muted. He was careful, of course - he always was - but, there were always consequences to drawing upon dark magic for even just a little bit. Especially if you weren't a witch that had devoted themselves to the darker arts and could resist its nature more easily. There was a buzzing in his body; at his fingertips, like his magic was just itching to be used again. Throw someone else through the air; freeze someone in place; bring someone to their knees in pain. He could practically hear it whispering to him somewhere in his subconscious.
His costume for the evening now sported several small rips and tears and he'd long since lost the flowing cape that he'd arrived with. For the most part, however, he had made it through relatively unscathed.

"No, I just checked his vitals and he's perfectly fine at the moment," Jenny tells her with a roll of her eyes. "He's just plain old grumpy tonight. God, yes please. I'm starving."
"Anything for you JenJen." Nova said with a wink. "Is he having another low blood sugar episode." Nova clicked her tongue. "Could have sworn someone gave him insulin." Nova sighed. "Let's order before someone throws their rocking chair."
