Seeing the Rocks Pirates just chilling at Shakky’s bar and that Rocks is satisfied and has found an actual partner he loves made me scream “thank god-“ in my head like 5 times.

I don’t mind Shakky being used as a tool for God Valley, my main issue was how it related to Rocks. So seeing that Rocks just has a relationship with Shakky similar to what Shanks had with Makino made me very relieved. It’s also obvious that there’s something else going on besides just Shakky that could’ve easily caught Rocks’ and Roger’s attention when it comes to God Valley.

So yayyy for small victories lmao.

The more chapters that come out, the more I just love Rocks as a character. You have someone who is willing to give a light beat down to Loki in order to get Harald’s attention, but then you have a guy who is also smiling and satisfied that he has a partner who he loves and is about to be a father. He cares about their safety so much that he hasn’t told a damn soul about it, that’s expert levels of secrecy because he’s pretty much around the other Rocks pirates all the time.

(Also all the women ribbing on him for it jajaja)

This also makes me think that maybe Blackbeard has a similar view on his father the same way Ace does with Roger. Maybe he respects him, but also viewed him as someone who was too soft and loose with others (Rocks seems to respect others decisions, especially their personal freedoms, and is open to building genuine connections with others). BB did name his main flag ship “Saber of Xebec”, so there’s clearly some respect there, but he acts like the complete opposite of his father.

I just love this flashback so much because we’re seeing such a…human side to these old pirates that were literal and figurative monsters in the current time. They bicker and call each other names and have petty fights, but they’ll still respect “keep the peace” rules because there’s no real animosity there, just fun rivalry.

I just discovered two of the people on the campaign I created were murdered. One of them was a child.
