Curious...

What is a good alternative to Photoshop?

I am currently still using CS3 (I have the disc, so why not), but it will not load in my 'new' computer. It's still in my laptop, but the laptop is slow as hell.

So, I am curious - what is the best, easy to use, most like PS, free or not super expensive alternative??

I do mostly desktop wallpapers, edits, some colouring... and gifs.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good video ripping program?

Bought a new PC recently, and I put iVideo Mate Downloader in it, as it has served me well on my old comp... but yeah, not working. Even after purchasing the registration, and they're not responding to emails.

So, I'm looking for a downloader that will snag videos from anywhere on the net: You Tube, Vimeo, iPlayer, etc.

I appreciate any suggestions. :)

Case in point...

Twenty years ago, my friend and I wrote an epic fic for seaQuest called 'Pirate's Pleasure'.

For a few years it was up on the Tower, but due to a glitch, I had to take it down. It has not seen the light of the internet in over a decade.

Until now.

It has been fully edited and updated... and is now up on AO3.

I have so thoroughly enjoyed revisiting this fic and the characters - the ones from the show and the ones we created.

Pirate's Pleasure is seaQuest... set in the 1800s.

And just because... the very cheesy gif I made for the fic, twenty years ago, when I was first learning how to make gifs. :)

And with this fic... every last one of my older fics from the Tower are up on AO3.
