I’ve been looking through this blog lately, and getting inspired for Taako’s wardrobe

@taznovembercelebration - Day 26 - Competition

“Aw fuck, you again.”

Kravitz whipped around, gripping his scythe harder than ever. Standing in the middle of the necromancer lair was Taako. Again. Wearing his stupid little hat and his silly little robe and-

“Don’t tell me,” Kravitz started stiffly. “That you’re here for someone I already reaped again.”

“Nah,” Taako said. “I’m here for, uh. That kid in the back? Y’know. What’s his face.”

“That kid is a necromancer,” Kravitz said. “They were going to the stockade.”

“No can do,” Taako said breezily, brushing past him. The necromancers that he had cornered looked nervously at Taako came up. With a swipe of his fingers, one of the criminals jerked to the side and flew out of the way. And then another, and the next, until Taako was face to face with the shortest of the bunch.

Kravitz couldn’t help the annoyance bubbling up in his chest. He gritted his teeth and cleaned up the rest of the necromancers as the kid quivered in front of Taako, frightened for their life. Because apparently, Taako was more threatening that Kravitz was. Because apparently, they were more scared of an emissary of Istus than the literal Grim Reaper.

“You’re gonna have to cut this necromancy shit out, kid,” Taako was saying. “Istus has got a plan for you and you’re kinda shitting on it.”

“Istus?” the kid asked shakily. “Like- like goddess of fate, Istus?”

“The very same!”

Kravitz rolled his eyes. So they knew who Istus was but had never heard of the Raven Queen. Great. 

“But why me?” they asked. “What can I do?”

Oh, what can I do? Boo hoo, you had a magical destiny, join the club. Kravitz took out a cloth to polish his scythe, eye the kid from behind Taako’s back.

“Can’t tell ya that yet,” Taako said. “But I can tell you that you needa cut it out with the death raising shit. It would not only help you with whatever destiny you have, but I’d help me make Mr. Grim Reaper lose his place as God’s Favorite.”

“That’s not a competition!” Kravitz snapped. “And we have different deities!”

“Eh,” Taako said, like it didn’t matter. “I’m just trying to get ahead.”

“There’s nothing to get ahead in-”

“Anyway,” Taako cut in. “Uh, go home. Get some rest. Don’t do death crimes. Taako’s outtie.”

And then Kravitz was left surrounded by dead bodies, a goddess-spared child, and frustration.

Again.
