The Happy Place

Recently Iāve been thinking about happiness, what defines it and how to stay in thatĀ constant place of joy. For a lot of people happiness is financial security, a husband or wife, a child, a job and so many other things. I have been blessed a lot in life, and when one looks at me they probably wonder if Iāve ever been unhappy. I used to think that if I had everything I wanted, I would be theā¦

FOCUS MODE

As COVID -19 lock-downs start ending, there are certain things weāve gotten accustomed to, habits we have formed that we may miss as we embark on the new normal ā the busier life so to speak, where everything is so fast paced. We all have smartphones which have become part of our daily lives. Be it doing work, studying, editing a book etc we all use these devices to go about our daily activitiesā¦

Tales of India Part 2- Birthday Shenanigans
Tales of India Part 2- BirthdayĀ Shenanigans

I had a conversation with a friend recently and she was feeling down, her upcoming birthday would be during this COVID0-19 season. She stays alone so she definitely has no plans. This got me thinking about how I spent my birthday earlier this year.

When it hit me that I would be spending my birthday in India, I was a little sad because the first thing I always want on my birthday is a prayerā¦

How are you spending your time?

Corona or āthe Ronaā as some are calling it, has ātaken over the worldā, so to speak. Thousands of people are hospitalized, in quarantine, stranded in foreign countries or on lock down. My heart goes out to all the patients, people who have lost their loved ones to the pandemic. I am grateful for all the medical personnel at the front lines who are risking their lives and those of their families,ā¦

Tales of India Part 1
Tales of India PartĀ 1

When I think of India, I think: saris, bollywood, long black hair, gold, Taj Mahal, spices, not to mention the fact that itās a technology hub.

Recently I had the chance to go there. Letās just say it was mixed feelings. In my mind, the India I imagined was the Taj Mahal and the place where Priyanka Chopra held her wedding (like many of you I was regaled with the photographs of her weddingā¦

Phone journaling Vs old school journaling.
Phone journaling Vs old schoolĀ journaling.
I love technology but Iām also a sucker for paper. Itās funny how you can love two things that seem to be at odds with each other.

I love cards, hand written thoughtful sentimental ones, like āHallmark cardsā and āBlue Mountainā. Admittedly, the words may be a mouthful. But the thought that these cards are hand crafted and curated and someone takes the time to put ink to paper and pen downā¦

Bye 2019, HelloĀ 2020!
2019, what a year! I feel like it was shorter than previous years, it rushed by so fast.Gosh, 2020 is just a day away.
Iām looking back and reflecting on all the amazing things that happened this year and Iām thankful and grateful to the good Lord.

I blogged again!Ā
I read more books this year than I have in the past 3 years. Book ants hola!

I dropped a couple of pounds. This has beenā¦

The last leg, guys we made it!!!!
The last leg, guys we madeĀ it!!!!

Disclaimer: This may be a long post, but bear with me, there is a lot to share. Let me give you an update of Week 3.

I recently travelled to one of my favorite countries and that trip was the most challenging week for me. Looking at all this food that I usually eat and love and not being able to have it was a test especially with the restaurants sending you all their deals for the day viaā¦

Juicing on the move.

Newsflash: Juicing isnāt always going to be done in your comfort zone. Thatās something no blog ever tells you. At times you may be thrown into situations and places where you have to plan and think quickly otherwise you will end up breaking your fast or compromising and regretting after.
I had a couple of scenarios on Days six and seven. These were quite interesting days but in the end theyā¦

Juicing Hacks.

As promised, Iāll be sharing tips on how to get through the Juice Fast. Disclaimer: what works for me may not necessarily work for you.
First things first, sit and examine the kind of Juice Fast you want to embark on. This can be done by writing down what your regular eating habits are and knowing exactly what you want to achieve at the end of the Fast. As I mentioned in my earlier post āNoā¦

One down Two to go!
One down Two toĀ go!
I have successfully completed one week of juicing! Can you imagine? I honestly didnāt think I would go through with it but I have. For those of you that have no idea what Iām talking about please refer to my previous post āNo food Novemberā.
Before doing this I read a lot of articles and blogs to mentally prepare myself. Most said itās hard for the first 7 days but once you get past day 4 or 7ā¦

No Food November

No, Iām not trying to starve myself, but YES as the title suggests, itās a whole month of no solid food (probably not very safe as some peopleās opinions may suggest but Iām doing it anyway).
I was recently asked by an aunt me to do a 60day juice fast with her. While I was skeptical, thinking there is no way I could possibly follow through with it, nonetheless I jumped on the wagon.

As October comes to an end, it hit, āI have not fulfilled everything I set out to doā. I have a number of excuses for not doing what I ought to do but on the whole, havenāt been as faithful in what God entrusted me with this month.
I promised myself that I would blog twice a month, but because of procrastination (or so I thought) I have not done that. Iām still in the deadline though if thisā¦

Hello October!

Yes!!! The bug of posting different months has hit me⦠#Embarrassed. I canāt help it. Iāve seen all these cute āHello Octoberā pictures everywhere, especially this one, it was literally begging me to use it, so I decided to do it a favour and use it (Hopefully it will only be for this month).
So, āHello October, How you doinā (Joey Tribbiani voice)ā
Ok, back to being serious.

Book Reading Culture.
At the start of this year I promised myself that I would read 3 books a month, 1 Business book, 1 Christian book and one fiction book. As the year draws to a close I realise that I have not done so. #Shame
I used to be ardent reader of books, I could read a book in a night, in a day, and you name it. I loved it, I always looked forward to my next book before I finished one. My sister and I wouldā¦

Revisiting Writing

I had paused writing for a while because I wasnāt sure what I should write about, if I was being serious or stick to my writing style, wondering if I was impacting people, if what I wrote was Spirit led or just thoughts, worried if I made a mistake in anything I wrote I would end up misleading people, gramatical errors and the like, as I said a million and one reasons.
But, a friend recentlyā¦
