Are Yellow Pages still Relevant?
North County Access is a directory of local companies with yellow pages. For nearly 100 years, local yellow pages have been a pillar of small business advertising. With search engines like Google, search engines should ask themselves whether traditional phonebook ads are still valuable. "Yellow pages are still an important part of a balanced marketing strategy," says Scott Brennan, CEO of Access Publishing, an advertising and marketing firm based in Paso Robles which produces a local telephone directory in North County Access, San Luis Obispo County Visitors Guide, Search Engine Optimization Paso Robles publishes Daily News online. "Having a large presence on the Internet is essential to the success of small businesses, but he does not want to put all his eggs in one basket," he says. "Most local businesses must set up a budget to market them as a mix of Internet, print, radio, direct mail and possibly television." "Over the past four years, we have recommended that customers move more of their advertising budgets for online marketing, but the print ad is still an excellent way to reach local consumers," he says. North County Access is delivered annually to more than 40,000 homes and companies in Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton and surrounding areas. Brennan points to recent research: 84 percent of consumers use yellow pages each year to find companies, according to a local media tracking survey for Burke. Yellow pages are more reliable than search. 45% of consumers say "the source I trust more to find local business information" is yellow page printing, compared to 41% of the research. 45% say yellow pages are "the most accurate source of local business information" compared to 39% for research. Forbes conducted an analysis on the issue. They asked: "Should small businesses continue advertising on yellow pages?" His conclusion was that people, especially older demographers, were still looking for printed yellow pages when they needed local businesses quickly. For example, spiders should think long and hard before getting rid of their local phone directories. Personal injury lawyers must also closely follow their potential clients before making a decision to stop their ads. There are many examples of companies that serve people with urgent needs who can benefit from staying in books. " Those who follow your ads know that yellow pages work, Brennan says. "Ask the owner of the pizza restaurant Paso Robles, Randy Syracuse, Marf Pizza get more than 100 pizza coupons every month of yellow pages," says the owner of the country flower shop agrees. "The arrival of me helped to spread my name in the community through his excellent local phone directory and the Internet ... all his staff are very helpful and excellent to work with! "
