Starve A Fever And Feed A Cold.
This saying suggests that eating less will help reduce a fever and that eating more will help combat a cold.
While in reality, whether you have a fever or a cold, your body needs proper nutrition and hydration to fight off the illness. If you have a fever, your body is working hard to fight an infection, which can increase your metabolic rate and potentially lead to dehydration. It's important to stay well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet to provide the energy and nutrients your body needs to recover. There's no scientific basis to the idea that you should significantly alter your eating habits based on whether you have a fever or a cold.
