Archive Update

Happy Birth by Sleep Novel release Day!

As a way to celebrate the occasion, we’ve updated the archive with 43 new stories, bringing the grand total of works here to 344. We’re happy to tell you that all works are complete in status, so no need to start fretting about lack of updates.

It has been wonderful to see the surge of interest in the pairing and the number of works featuring it since the release of KH3 and we look forward to seeing if it continues. And hopefully you’ll be able to find something new to read with this update, or maybe or maybe you’ll stumble across an old fave!

The Good Stuff aka SMUT

Well, it was bound to happen at some point.

Thank you to the anonymous person who requested a rec-list of smut fics; you’ve done a big favour for all the people we know are out there but were too embarrassed to ask us directly.

So here’s a list of 25 stories where Terra and Aqua do the deed. All are rated M or E,  are consensual, and most importantly, complete in status. The difference in rating is that stories rated E are more explicit and detailed in their descriptions than those rated M and also tend to use more explicit language.

just a couple of questions! are all the works terraqua-centric? that is, have terraqua as the main pairing and not a background pairing? and also, are all of the fics ship fics? like i know for gen-rated fics it can be hard to tell sometimes whether it's platonic or not, but i just mean, we won't see any sibling-esque dynamics here or terra or aqua being shipped with anyone else, it's all ship fics or implied ship fics? thanks for taking the time to answer!

Hi there!

Yes, all the stories featured here are focused on Aqua andTerra as a romantic pairing and as the main pairing. Most of them werecollected by searching under the Aqua/Terra pairing tags on AO3 and FF.net.

There are some where it is more implied rather than outrightsaid, and some of the Gen fics focus more on their friendship, but most of themalso have some hints of unrequited feelings. For the stories where the romance isn’texplicit, their relationship is still very much that of friends and not that ofsiblings.

The only other ships you’ll see are Aqua/Xemnas, which isincluded because it’s quasi-terraqua, and there’s currently only about 2 ofthem listed here. There is one fic which is Aqua/Zack but she’s very much pretending in hermind that Zack is Terra. The Aqua/Xemnas fics are tagged as Aqua/Xemnas next tothe ratings and word counts.

Welcome to the terraqua-archives!

We are a (hopefully) comprehensive collection of fanfiction from across the internet focusing on the pairing of Aqua and Terra from Kingdom Hearts.

The works featured here have been compiled from across Fanfiction.net, Archive of Our Own, Tumblr, Deviant Art, LiveJournal, and wherever else we could find them.

All works currently listed are complete in status, so no need to worry about when the next chapter’s coming out or whether or not the author has turned into a Heartless because the last update was in 2015 and you NEED to know what happens next. We will be adding works-in-progress in due time.

The stories found here are all safe and consensual, and if warnings are applicable, they have been listed. We do not list works featuring non-con, gorn, and other questionable/potentially triggering things. This isn’t to say we don’t have smut if that’s what you’re looking for, we do, but it’s consensual smut. You know, the good stuff.

We will be posting lists of recommended fics based on a specific topic, e.g. dancing, love confessions, inspired by films, etc.

Unfortunately, they will not be a Coffee Shop AU list because there is literally only fic that currently falls into that category. If you write, please feel free to rectify that.

Why have we done this?

Because we can. And we felt it was needed.

The HD remixes have brought a lot of new fans into the fandom, and KH3 will likely do the same. This has led to some fantastic new pieces of fanfiction being written, but newer fans are also missing out on some wonderful works that have been around since all the way back in 2010. We want to make sure that no-one’s missing out on the good stuff.

And with KH3 releasing soon, we thought it might be a good idea to stockpile soothing, comforting fluffy fics, along with others, so that when we’re all inevitably emotional wrecked from how the game ends, we will have something to fall back on and maybe cry ourselves to sleep with.

Or that could just be me.

Plus, as much as we like FF.net and AO3, browsing can be a pain and sometimes you just want to read a story where Aqua’s a mermaid or Terra’s a spy or they both finally confess their feelings for one another. Or maybe you only have 10 minutes to read during your mid-morning break and you know you can probably do around 3000 words max. Luckily for you, we’ve got you covered.

How this works

See that menu button in the top left? Click it.

See the word MENU with a down arrow next to it, written in black? Click that too.

Then click on PAGES, and you will see a whole bunch of word counts. Select the one you’d like and voila, you have a fic list of terraqua stories that fall between your chosen word count.

Simples.

All fics are listed based upon word counts, and in ascending order. So the shortest story in that category is at the top of the list and the longest at the bottom. The summaries listed are those written by the fic author’s themselves, with some additions by us if they did not have one.

We will be posting lists of fic-recs based on various topics, so keep an eye out for them too.

All fics are rated using the AO3 rating system, which is as follows.

G – General Audiences

T – Teen and Up

M – Mature

E – Explicit: only suitable for adults.

Warnings are listed when necessary, usually for Graphic Violence and Character Death.

FAQs

Can I submit a story to the archives?

Of course! Please do! We’d ideally like to have as many fics as possible. Provided it’s comprehensible, reasonably well-written, and doesn’t contain non-con, gorn, etc., we’d love to add it to our lists.

My work is listed here and I did not give permission. Can you take it down?

Our assumption is that any work posted to a fanfiction sharing site is posted because the author wants it to be read by as many people as possible. We’re just another way of letting people find it.

That said, if you are not happy to have your work listed here, send us a message and we will remove it ASAP, no questions asked.

Speaking from experience as a fic writer, reviews are the biggest and best way of saying thank you and also motivating an author to continue a story, write more stories, and just make them happy.
