is there a defined way as to how aventurine looks in the noodle au?? I'm personally struggling to come up with an image in my mind
Okay, it's noodle Aventurine description time!
Let's start with the obvious: Instead of legs, he has a snake tail with green scales. It merges with the human part of his body right above where his hips would be.
However, the more 'human' part of his body also bears some snake traits, starting with scales. Aventurine have some of those on his arms, hands, face and torso, but they are scarce and few, kinda like moles or freckles.
Instead of nails, he has short claws. His tongue is forked, and he has venomous fangs. As for his eyes, they look the same as in canon, except he has vertically slitted pupils.
Most of his body is covered in scars, old and new, due to the mistreatments he suffered for years, though those on the snake half are less visible/ fade a little more each time he sheds.
He also has three small spots on his chest, right above his heart, that turn a light shade of grey when put under the right light, but even then, you'd have to know it's there and squint to notice it. The reason why is spoiler territory, but I thought it'd be nice to include this little detail here as well, since it's also part of noodle Aven's appearance!
Anyway I hope this helps anon, and don't hesitate to ask is there's anything you'd like to have more precision on!

Here is a sneak peek at the next chapter of the noodle au (which is turning out to be a bit more angsty than I had originally planned):
Besides, trying to erase existing feelings would be pointless. Aventurine knew that already. At this point, all he could do was hope, maybe foolishly, that this time, it would be different. That for once, he’d manage to make something good last.
Gaiathra, how he wanted it to last...
But he rarely – if ever – got his way. A fact he was bitterly reminded of when Ratio returned from work with a sour expression on his face and unceremoniously dropped a piece of paper into his hands.
“Would you happen to have an explanation for this?” He inquired, obviously displeased.
Aventurine’s heart dropped. What had he done wrong? Nothing came to his mind, but still, he must have messed up somehow, for the doctor to look this upset. Frantically, he skimmed through the document Ratio had handed him, desperate for an answer, but was only met with various series of numbers that made no sense to him.

Yesterday, I remembered that Dinotopia is a thing, had my mind quickly jump to silly Aventio AU territory, and now I'm stuck with the soft mental image of Aventurine hugging a baby ankylosaurus (because unbreakable armor/shield)
Meanwhile Ratio would be studying/looking after duck-billed dinosaurs. Since, you know. Ducks.

Something tells me that if Ratio ever visited the Luofu, Aventurine would soon be gifted his very own Tuskpir, in an obvious repeat of what happened with the cat cakes.

It took me a while to finish it, but chapter 15 of the noodle au is finally up!
Fic Summary:
“Don’t come any closer!” Aventurine hissed, his lips curled back on his damaged fangs.
Veritas raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by his poor attempt at an intimidation display.
“Or what? You will decapitate my rubber duck? Because in your current state, I doubt you could manage even that. So stop making a fuss, and let me help you.”
Or the AU where Professor Veritas Ratio walks home to find an injured snake man in his bathtub.

I'm glad youre back! (This isn't me trying to rush you at all btw, please take all the time you need of course) but do you happen to know when you might write more of the snake au?
Thanks, I'm happy to hear that 😊 As for the snake AU, I can't really give a precise date for when I'll post it, but I do have 1/3 of it already written, and all the ideas to write the rest. August has just been a rather busy month and I sadly didn't have much time to write, but I'm impatient to finish that chapter too! (And even more to write the two that will follow, but shhh, no spoilers)
And thanks for the ask anon!

If there was a wedding themed party and the IPC sent Aventurine (with his wedding outfit to the party), and he invites Ratio as a plus one; Ratio would say yes faster than he ever did in his life and will be all giddy inside thinking he could get a taste of what their wedding would be like.
Oh, he absolutely would! Plus they would both be staring at each other's outfits in barely contained awe, that's for sure.
Speaking of this, one of my headcanons is that Ratio and Aventurine would eventually get secretly engaged/married in a far more intimate setting, and now I'm just thinking about them slow dancing together on both occasions.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the ask anon!

Let me share the latest idea I’ve been obsessing about: A vaguely Greek mythology-inspired Aventio AU where Ratio, prince of Amphoreus, has come of age and, is supposed to get married, according to the laws and customs of his city. Except he’d rather focus on the greater purpose of curing the world from ignorance, starting with his own people, than waste his time courting some egoistical royal he couldn’t care less about. So he comes up with the oldest trick in the book to escape this meaningless duty without causing an uproar: Setting up open to all (but secretly impossible to complete) tasks that his future spouse will have to overcome if they wish to prove themselves worthy of his hand. Not that Ratio expects anyone to succeed, and for several years, his ruse works just fine, which gives him plenty of time to further his studies and become a well-versed scholar. Many suitors try to outwit him, but none can even pass through the first trial.
Then enters Aventurine.
His participation alone provokes outrage. Appalled whispers fill the streets. How dare a Sigonian barbarian, a former slave, believe himself good enough to marry the noble and esteemed prince of Amphoreus? Does he have no shame, parading around the city in grotesquely eye-catching clothes, as if he has already won?
As soon as it reaches their ears, Ratio’s advisors suggest he bans Aventurine from the competition, which he refuses just as fast. The rules he created state that anyone can participate, regardless of their birthright or education, and that is final.
So Aventurine undergoes the trials and solves all of Ratio’s perfectly crafted puzzles and enigmas, though in rather unconventional ways their creator never even considered (think cutting the Gordian knot in half instead of untangling it).
Still, when he kneels in front of Ratio as they are introduced, he fully expects the prince to accuse him of cheating as an excuse to call the marriage off. Not that he minds. It’s all part of his plan, after all. He needs Ratio’s assistance to fulfill the latest mission assigned to him by the IPC, and what better way to catch his attention and flaunt his insane luck than by beating him at his own game? Besides, he knew from the start a future king would never stoop as low as to wed a former slave.
However, what happens next is the one possibility the Stoneheart didn’t account for:
Prince Ratio doesn’t go back on his word.
How could he, when he has oh so unexpectedly found his match, when their qualities and faults balance each other out so perfectly? The crowd might attribute Aventurine’s victory to deceit or divine luck, but he can tell honed skills, shrewdness and street smarts were the real actors at play. While hearsay claims that he only respected his part of the deal out of integrity and virtuousness, perhaps even pity, his heart tells another story.
With such a sharp-witted, and dare he say it, charming fiancé challenging his worldview, well…
Suddenly, the prospect of betrothal doesn’t seem so ludicrous anymore.
And that is how, to everyone’s surprise, including his own, Aventurine accidentally gets engaged to a secretly smitten prince. (He soon learns to love it. And the citizens of Amphoreus, not to badmouth him or his origins ever again, unless they want to have chalks thrown at them by their very pissed monarch)
