we are so ableist about memory. people with good memory take for granted the fact that they can recall as much as they can, and use that to taunt, guilt and threaten people with memory issues. many neurotypes and mental illnesses cause memory lapses. traumatic brain injuries can cause memory lapses. brain cancer can cause memory lapses.

even if your memory is good, it's not right to guilt someone because they can't remember something. trust me, people with memory problems are desperately trying to remember: it's just that we literally can't. it is a very literal "i can't remember".

Ok so yes! They are made of wood! This is because they're forest spirits and specifically trees(specifically specifically Cannonball trees)

This is inspired by more of a feeling I got while reading different versions of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The Pied Piper didn't really feel human. I mean most of the time, he's some guy that randomly shows up with no name and no place of origin, can control animals and humans through music, and can create magic portals to anywhere? Sounds like a supernatural creature to me. The Pied Piper felt more like a force of nature than a man and so I thought it would be fun if the Pipers were actually not human

Kinda like the Wonderlandians who are animals, they can go back and forth from human to tree spirit. They only really stay in their human forms because people kinda get weird about it so they just rather keep it private

This one needs quite a bit of explaining. I was just thinking about where the Storybook of Legends came from. I jokingly said that it must be smth of the devil and then I realized that it could be. So my hc is that the demons that made that mirror in Snow Queen were also the ones that made the Storybook of Legends. So signing it is kinda like partially selling your soul to the devil

Now how does it make sure you follow your destiny? Easy! It just brings you an immense amount of pain! When you sign, it’ll put like a little sigil that won’t go away until you’ve completed your destiny. And if you avoid it, it’ll bring you pain that intensifies the longer you try to stall it

So that’s what happened to Piper. It went on for about three days until he fainted and conceited to go to Hamelin. And now he had these little scars. They’re like the only things that’ll look like wood even when he looks human. Peak dad lore I think

Help save an infant's life!!

We're almost at the year mark for the current Israeli aggression, and my friend Dina ( @dina-my-family ) has been living in a tent with her two young children for this entire time. Her oldest, a beautiful little girl, is 2 years old, and her son, a miracle of life brought into the world in the midst of war, is under a year old.

Her family has been displaced several times, and she's had to run from bombings with her terrified children. Dina's had little access to medical care for herself and her children, including when she was pregnant, and it's difficult for them to get food and water. On top of this, their tent provides little protection from the elements, and with winter coming, the cold will be incredibly dangerous.

Recently, her little son has developed a fever, and we are both scared for him. She needs medicine to help him get better, but as most things in Gaza, the medicine is incredibly expensive. It's incredibly URGENT that she is able to get proper care for her son, a fever can be so so dangerous if left untreated.

All Dina wants is for her children to be safe and happy again.

Her campaign has been struggling terribly, and it's difficult for her to hold onto this dream. Her children deserve better lives, Dina deserves a better life. Her campaign is their only way to achieve this. She NEEDS your help and your continued support to see the campaign completed. My heart can't stand seeing her campaign continuously go ignored. Please, I am begging you, do better for my friend. Help her children.

How do you feel about some people saying that Aladdin and Jasmine’s relationship is “problematic” since he was lying about being a prince to her for a a lot of the movie? (I don't totally agree with that by the way) Was just wondering how you felt about that since you are a huge Aladdin fan and I’m sure you have heard of this before.

How do I feel about it?

Like that, basically.

I’m so, so tired of this new trend of people looking for reasons why every pairing is bad or problematic and therefore shouldn’t be supported. It’s like a barbed stick up these peoples’ collective ass. Not only does it dampen the enjoyment of everything for themselves, it’s annoying as hell to everybody else as well as harmful in the long run. 

It’s like the boy who cried wolf. These people are so eager to proclaim things to be harmful and problematic that when media that is REALLY harmful and problematic comes along, far fewer people are actually going to listen because they’ve been so desensitized to these same people wailing about media that wasn’t actually harmful. 

I haven’t heard about AlJas being problematic from his lying, but I DID see somebody try to say it was predatory because Aladdin was 20 and Jasmine was 16, which is bullshit because it’s not true. In the original script for the movie (well, the second original script since everything was thrown out at one point for a total re-write) Jasmine is three days shy of 16, and in the TV series there’s one episode where Aladdin and the gang get lost in Agrabah’s back alleys which confuses him because, “I’ve been wandering these alleys for seventeen years, but now everything seems different... switched around.” which establishes that he’s 17 and was possibly 16 when the movie takes place. There’s nothing wrong with those ages. 

As for AlJas being problematic because of him lying? 

Anybody who says that better not ever make any mistake in judgment or do anything wrong in their life ever, not even once, because that line of logic screams that if you fuck up once then you’re irredeemable for the rest of your life. 

Yes, he lied. 

He also had an internal struggle with guilt because of that lie, and before the lamp was stolen he actively tried to tell Jasmine the truth about who he was. When it was revealed before he was able to tell her, he sincerely apologized not only in the moment but at the end of the movie as well to which she forgave him and said she understood why he did it. He then said he couldn’t keep pretending to be something he wasn’t, and kept his word to Genie and wished for his freedom even though doing so sacrificed his own happiness. 

He grew as a person. These nay-sayers need to keep in mind that he was 17 years old when he did that. He was a kid. He was a kid who hadn’t had parents since he was very, very young, so he didn’t have that parental guidance to help shape him as a person. He had to learn that himself, the hard way. He realized he was doing something wrong, he tried to correct it, and then he sincerely apologized.

What more can you possibly expect out of somebody?
