Late Night Cry || Henry & Piper Hart
Henry jerked awake when his bedroom door opened, he reached for the Laser that was tucked under his pillow. He cracked open his eyes and relaxed when he saw Piper. She pulled back his blanket and moved his arm. He didn't say a word as she climbed in the bed and covered up and rolled back facing Henry.
Henry stared at the back of her head until the first couple sobs escaped from her. Within seconds he wrapped an arm around her. Her hand coming up clutching his forearm as she cried more openly.
The two didn't say a word, just holding each other. Henry pressed his head to her shoulder and cried right along with her. The two fell asleep crying, secretly wishing their sibling had a normal life.

All I've ever wanted || Mirabel Madrigal
Warnings: none
~~~~~
"All I've ever wanted is for you to see me," Mirabel said, turning away. She couldn't look at her family while she opened up. "And I'm sorry for everything I have put you guys through to get you to notice me."
"Mirabel," Abuela whispered.
Mirabel couldn't control the flinch, turning toward her grandmother who look taken aback. "We see you now," She said softly to her grand daughter.
A hand slipped into hers, "Hey, Mira..." Camilo gipped her hand tighter so she'd look at him, "We will never do anything to hurt you ever again."
Mirabel smiled glancing around at her family, "Thank you."
She could finally relax
If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.
Real life hurts || Jasper Dunlop -part one
Summary: Jasper gets kicked out and is forced to turn to Ray.
Pairing: future Henry/Jasper
Warnings: child abuse, neglect, homelessness, LGBTQ+ characters. (IF I MISS ANY PLEASE LET ME KNOW!)
All day long Jasper was acting strange. He was jumpy, on edge, on the verge of tears all day. Ray bugged Henry and Charlotte but it seemed like he didn't want anyone to know. He was dead silent, only speaking when spoken to, but stuttered the entire way through.
"Ray, you know he looks up to you. He'd do anything you tell him to," Charlotte pointed out to Ray who was quietly pacing.
"I shouldn't have to demand him to answer me. There has to be a way to get him to open up," Ray said, turning to Charlotte.
She slumped back against her seat and huffed, this was impossible. Every idea Ray shot down it just made her more upset. They knew Ray would be the one who got it out of him. Charlotte and Henry had been trying throughout the day, only frustrating all three teens more.
Charlotte's alarm blared letting them all know they could leave. Henry and Charlotte were hesitant to leave. They knew they had to go home, but how could they leave Jasper like that?
"Jasper, can you hang back? Henry, Charlotte, go home," Ray said waving them away.
Henry and Charlotte left the Man Cave through the tubes leaving Jasper terrified.
Had his mother called? Had she told him?
Ray walked over to the couch and sat across the table from them and smiled. Ray leaned Forward, "You seem like you've had something on your mind all day, today."
Jasper nodded silently.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked.
Jasper nodded again and looked at his sweaty hands on the table leaving tiny puddles. "I'm sorry, I'm sweating on your table," He apologized.
"It's fine, Kid. what's on that mind of yours?" Ray asked.
Jasper had the sneaking suspicion that it wasn't fine, but he didn't argue. He looked to his hands, "I- Uh... Can you keep this a secret?" He asked.
"Kid, I'm Captain Man-"
"You can't tell Henry or Charlotte. Not even Schwoz," Jasper said with a hard edge Making Ray stop talking.
Ray nodded, "I Promise to never ever tell anyone your secret, Jasper."
This was it, Jasper had to say it. Ray had to know. "I told my mom... that I was gay." He said, looking away from ray.
Ray felt his pain. His own father was not kind to him liking men, but that was a different time. Now everyone was very open minded. Ray reached forward pausing when Jasper flinched away from him.
"I'm not upset, Kid. I'm Pansexual. I Know what it's like having a parent who doesn't support you. I know what its like to swallow down the hurt and hide it from your friends because you're afraid the moment they know they'll turn their back on you." Ray couldn't stop the tears filling his own eyes and stood up moving to crouch in front of Jasper. "Its a scary world and I can help you navigate it."
Jasper smiled, catching Ray into a tight hug as a thank you.
"So, any cute boys?" Ray wondered.
"One..." Jasper said, Ray seemed genuinely intrested. Ray was definitely okay to say this to, "Henry," he admitted.
"Awe, that's so cute. In love with your best friend. Its a classic." Ray said with a laugh.
It really was. Good movie shows, books, and movies stems from the cliché best friends to lovers, but this wasn't a movie, it was real life. Real life was filled with shitty parents, homelessness, and only platonic love sent his way.
Jasper and Ray fell silent just sitting, but Jasper had more questions. "Hey Ray, my parents kind of… kicked me out, could I stay here?" He asked.
"Kicked you out?" Ray echoes.
"They told me to come back when I came to my senses and put this disgusting thing behind me," Jasper said. He stood up and rubbed his face, "they said I was selfish. That I was taking away their right to have grandchildren. My dad even hit me. I mean, yeah. My dad hits me sometimes, but this was different."
"Your dad hits you?" Ray asked, turning pale.
"Yeah, they both do. It's fine though."
"Jasper, that's not okay! You are staying here." Ray gave no room for argument. "Come on, let me show you to your new room." Ray said getting up and leading him to the sprocket.
Jasper had never been in this part of the mmancave. He was lead down a hallway where there were multiple rooms. One room read Schwoz. A few were bare walls. The one at the end of the hallway read Ray Manchester. He opened the door right next to it, and showed him the room.
It was pretty bare, a bed, a side table with a lamp, a dresser, and a for some reason a coat rack in the corner of the room.
"A coat rack?" Jasper asked walking in.
"Don't question me boy." Ray said bumping Jasper with his hip.
Jasper chuckled and walked in sitting on the bed. "Oh my god!" Jasper groaned laying down across the bed and groaned.
"Whats up kid?" Ray asked.
"This bed is so comfortable. The mattress I have back at home is super old and not comfortable. My parents never liked me having nice things." He said using his toes to take off his shoes.
"I'll be back with clothes you can change into. I figure you can fit into Henry's clothes?"
"Yeah, do you have his clothes here?"
"Some, he keeps some clothes here in case he needs to shower or his clothes get damaged in some way." Ray said, shrugging.
"That's smart, was that Charlotte's idea?" He asked.
"Was that Charlotte's idea? Pfft," Ray mocked, crossing his arms.
"It was," Jasper said with a smile.
"Yeah, it was."
Jasper laughed at Ray's pout. He looked up at the ceiling when Ray slipped out of the room. It was odd to feel this relaxed. It was almost like that stand-offish relationship they had disappeared the moment he said he was gay. They were able to bond. They had never been able to do this before.
Henry was the closest with Ray, obviously because he was his sidekick. He would choose Henry over everyone in their small little circle in a heartbeat. Charlotte was his second favorite. She was the brains of the entire operation. Ray liked that she was smart. She came up with ideas and ways to deal with their problems. Schwoz was obviously another one of his family. He was there for Ray all the time. He
Him and Ray though never had anything more than an employer-employee relationship. Ray could hardly stand Jasper. Whenever he spoke Ray was always quick to quiet him down and even ask Jasper to leave. It definitely hurt. He had always wanted to form a closer relationship but never knew how. It’s not like he ever gave Jasper the chance to try. This was the most they have ever spoken.
Now That the door was open Jasper was not going to let it close.
He jerked when he was hit with some clothes, “Thank you, I’ll grab a shower before bed.” Jasper said with a small smile.
“Alrighty, can I ask you something?” Ray asked.
“Sure,”
“Is there anything that you need from your house?” Ray asked. “I know that the first time i met you, Henry told me that you took medication for your sweaty hands.”
“Yeah, I actually left everything at home. They told me to leave and I kind of stormed out. I don’t even have my school things.”
“Okay, I was planning to go out on a quick patrol before bed, mostly because we’re due for another crime wave,” Ray lied. Jasper knew better, they had a crime wave less than 2 months ago. They weren't due for another 4 months.
“You’re going to sneak into my house and get things for me?” jasper asked.
“Yeah, I’ll be back around midnight, so good night, if you need me, call me or if it’s past midnight, i am right next door. I’ll leave it unlocked, okay?”
Jasper nodded, “Is there a certain time I should be in bed? It’s a friday and i kind of want to stay up late tonight.”
“Not tonight, but sunday night i want your butt in the room. . . at 1 am at the latest.” He said snapping his fingers after his pause.
Jasper nodded and grabbed Henry's clothes and got up. "Alrighty, it's shower time."
Ray laughed and ruffled Jasper's hair as he passed him. Jasper wasn't going to be okay, but he would be with the support of Ray.
Camilo: *Coming home with his clothes tattered*
Luisa: What happened?
Camilo: I don’t want to talk about it.
Antonio: He betted a race against Tío Bruno. And lost miserably.
Camilo, losing his mind: Look at Tío. He looks like a branch. How the fuck he did those flips.
Youre Our Dad, Boogie Woogie Woogie
Summary: Henry, Piper, and Jasper think of Ray as their father.
Warnings: hinting at Henry and Pipers mom has been cheating with her tennis coach.
Henry shoved past Jasper to get into the Man-Cave, "Ray, can I have a nacho tower before we work?" He asked. "I'm starved and didn't eat lunch."
"Sure thing kid, your sister coming?" Ray asked not looking up from is phone.
"Uh, probably, I don't know. I walked here because she had to go take mom to Nacho Ball." He said asking for 4 Nacho towers. He quickly set them on the table, before getting some Pepsi for him, a water for Char, and 2 cokes for Jasper and Captain Man.
They all moved to the couch and turned on Dog Judge and relaxed. Henry and Jasper leaned into Ray. Ray didn't seem to mind much. "This is nice, Dad."
Henry moved to sit up panicked, not sure what to do.
"What?" Ray asked his voice squeaking.
"This is nice." Henry rushed out shoving a handful of chips in his mouth.
Ray chuckled looking at a Nacho Cheese covered Henry and laughed, "I believe you called me Dad."
Henry blushed and shook his head no as Char slipped out and returned with napkins. "It was clear as day, I can't lie for you," Char said wiping his face and hand.
"I... this is ridiculous." Henry said yanking his hand from Charlotte and glaring at her. "I- I don't think of you as a dad."
"Liar," Jasper sung quietly.
Henry huffed and looked to Ray, "Fine, I see you as a father figure," he said leaning back staring at his nacho tower that didnt seem that appealing anymore. "Mine isn't around that much for Piper and I... and I Just-"
Piper came down the tube dressed up nice
"Nice, going somewhere fancy later?"
"Mom is taking me out to eat in 2 hours to make up bailing on my recital," she said with a bitter edge.
Henry was there for the aftermath, she had cried herself to sleep in her bed when she missed her choir recital. Mom missing another important day for her tennis coach.
"Where was she?" Ray asked watching Piper try and keep it together. Henry climbed over char and to Piper.
"With her tennis coach." She said blinking to get rid of the tears.
"At his house." Henry pulled her into a hug Ray surprising both of them by coming behind them for a hug. Char and Jasper slipped out through the elevator.
Ray held the kids as tight as he could, they didn't deserve to ever deal with flaky parents. "Why didn't I know about your recital?" Ray asked.
"My parents barely come, I didn't want to have another parental figure skip out on her too," Henry admitted for the both of them.
Ray sighed, he understood it, how could he not? Why would he give his sister another reason to be upset. He took both of their hands, "Unless there is a Captain Man emergency, I'll be there for you kids. Even you Charlotte and Jasper," he said.
There was a muffled 'Thanks dad' from Jasper through the elevator door.
He knew that was a huge promise, and He was going to keep it the best he could. These kids deserved better than they have. He was going to deliever.
