I introduce to you to my "Ice King regains all his memories of being Simon but doesn't stop being Ice King, leading to a major identity crisis" AU.

Detailed AU premise below:

I haven't been able to stop thinking about this AU for weeks now, so here it goes.

AU where Betty learns about Prismo, and goes to the time room so she can wish Simon/Ice King to remember everything.

But uh-oh! She wasn't specific enough, leading to a monkey's paw situation where Simon/Ice King does regain all his memories but is still Ice King.

All the magic, madness and sadness is still there, only now he can remember his past. Meaning he now understands exactly where all his misery comes from and why he's the way he is.

He's no longer completely oblivious to why his life is so messed up, and the worst part is- he can't just make peace with it. He's not the person he was as Simon, but he also vividly remembers being Simon and knows everybody wants him to be just like Simon again. But how?? He doesn't posses Simon's intellect or kindness or maturity. He doesn't enjoy almost anything Simon does, and now things that brought him comfort and happiness as Ice King are permanently tainted. Ice King likes to write fanfictions? Well Simon published actual books. You get the gist.

It's very angsty and idk how it would go really I just like making myself sad. If anyone wants to write a fic about this you have my blessing.
