i apologize for going missing. i am back out of pure rage because i dont like shakespeare. i dont know WHY, so the hatred isnt serious. but just seeing the mans name makes me mad.

reasons:

The Stranger deals a lot with any matters related to theatre. Actors pretending to be not only other humans but other creatures as well. There were also rumours of him stealing plays and ideas from other writers.

With his work published and his legacy living on to this day, even in his death he is still watched and observed. To make it worse, the existence of his plays in English classes continue to put introverted students on the spot. The Eye can thank Mr William Shakespeare for encouraging various English teachers to torment their shyest studentsz

Lots of his plays deal with themes of madness and insanity. Not always explict insanity, but sometimes their actions just seem downright crazy. I think the Spiral would either enjoy the shows or enjoy being a character.

Hi! How would you file the Circle of Tide & Bone from the Candela Obscura Actual Play series of the same name? There are multiple characters in the group who I think could fall under different Fears, and I'd like to see your take on them (although I can submit individuals if you'd prefer that)

for individual characters id like individual submissions, just so its a smaller file. so for this file im looking into the plot that the circle followed and some of the creatures they encountered.

reasons:

the group first faces the great maw, a creature feeding on the despair of starving children. in this case im associating starvation with a mix of the Corruption and the End. other “food” statements are usually connected to the Flesh, but because of the lack of meat, im not leaning to hard on that one. the great maw also disguises it’s as a religious figure (nun) and “corrupts” the sanatorium.

the sanatorium itself, being an asylum, is easily connected to the Spiral.

i did as much research as i could on the serious man, but i honestly don’t know what he’s up to so…

the second episode is focused on a water creature that is serving a young girl. while water is usually connected to the vast, drowning is closer to the Buried (which makes this the first Buried file!)

i believe there is one more episode but it mostly dove into the characters finishing up their stories and i didnt have a ton of time, i left that part out

this sounds extremely interesting, im wondering where id watch/listen to this. ill have to look into it a bit more

:0 this is so cool! Do you take unfiled, miscellaneous feelings? Its more simple than entire fandoms or characters, but I can’t quite tell if the concept of knots (rope, string, yarn, etc) is more of the spiral or the web, or something else??

hello there eenyay, love a unique filing request. for this one i’m going based on the use of the rope/string/knots.

reasons:

when i think of knots and rope i think of the way they are used and what they are used for, so for this reason i put them under Web. we use them to take control, restrain and support things. their purpose is determined by us of course, but to imagine something that mainly uses a string or rope, i imagine a spider. string on a cork board is used to connect, rope on a ship is used to support and move things. it grants us control of things.

as for Spiral, i can see where you get that. connecting string to Spiral i find difficult but knots? knots i can understand. untangling knots, is what i mostly think of. that task alone can drive people mad.

this filing was based mostly on personal opinion but i enjoyed it. i hope it makes sense to you, and i hope more people submit things like this, makes my job more fun

gordon porlock from red valley pod!!

reasons:

he is collecting and seeking out information on the Red Valley Institute, making him a wonderful possible avatar for the Eye, not to mention he’s literally an archivist. in his wiki it is noted that while another character, Warren, is open about himself, Gordon is not. this feeds into the Eye filing more than anything.

the actual subject he seems most interested in (cryonics, freezing a dead body, in hope of reviving it in the future) is connected to the End. this is a clear sign of other peoples fear of death, so Gordon himself isnt a victim of this fear, but in a way he’s an avatar just because of his contribution to the science.

Gordon himself says that he is afraid of people and interacting with them. however he does make the effort to help people, so perhaps he would make a better victim of the Lonely rather than a avatar

i didn’t get the chance to finish the wiki page but i was highly interested in this podcast and this character. i may have to put the Red Valley Podcast on my to-listen list

reasons:

celebrities/influencers are often connected to the Eye because of how they are watched by the public. the two appeared on multiple different types of media over the years. The Super Amazing Project is a wonderful example of this, from the sharing of news, to recieving items and stories from viewers.

influencers have that title for a reason, they have an influence over people. however they are also under control of what people want and the rules on how to get attention. they can be avatars or victims of the Web.

you will never truly know who someone is online. also they played games and music, often connected with the Stranger

i have strong thoughts about how we as humans consume and precieve media but i tried not to let my personal thoughts effect the filing… i hope it worked.

like it tends to do - the Lonely (talking with an ex after not seeing each other for a while)

movie star - the Eye, Stranger and Web (trying to be someone youre not for someone else)

all falls down - the Stranger, Spiral and Eye (dealing with fame)

staying - the Corruption (leaving a toxic relationship)

i guess - the Lonely (taking someone home after a night out)

drunk, running - the Spiral, Web, and Corruption (trying to help a partner with an addiction)

broken glass - the Slaughter and Spiral (emotional hurt as physical hurt)

you forced me too - Slaughter and Lonely (a toxic relationship and its imbalances)

older - the End and Web (a song about missing childhood while becoming an adult)

better than this - the Web and Spiral (worried that her and her partners love for each other could be replacable)

march - the End (mourning her dead father)

vortex - the Spiral and Web (a song about knowing eventually she’ll be able to let go of a toxic relationship)

you gave me quite the challenge, and i like that. i listened to the whole album and carefully to the lyrics (and did some additional research). each song had it’s own message, so there was a variety of fears within. i enjoyed the album, and i hope you enjoy my filing.

reasons:

he is a cop and a detective, working to find information and hunt down criminals so i lean towards him being a good avatar of the Eye or the Hunt as those two fears work well having avatars that enjoy that kind of power. from my follow up message with you i also believe that the “aggressive or arrogant” behaviour people see in him would work well with the Hunt. from his wiki i learned that his parents seemed quite absent which led me to think he’d make a good target for the Lonely, however he does seem to have friends, so it would all depend on how much he isolates himself.

i dont know much about this character or the show but it seems very very interesting and i’ll put it on my to-watch list. if you’d like me to do another character from Psych, please let me know :)
