i love ail lovebird so much. not in the "oh they're cute" sort of way but in the "oh they're so interesting i need to dissect them" sort of way.

shrignold's relationship with warren is different because it's the first of any kind he's had that didn't involve some sort of power imbalance or deceit. his relationship with the cult members were all based on that because it was a part of his job. that involves his relationship with flower but with only a little bit more emotional connection for reasons that i'll probably maybe get into another time. warren is different because their relationship was never based off of lies.

whilst warren's relationship with shrignold would most likely be the exact same if shrignold was replaced with any other person. warren's awful relationships were a direct result of just him being a shitty person and not from him doing his job. whilst he still does enjoy being around shrignold he still gets angry and snaps at him like he would any other person
