One of the people this was about (there were multiple, some of them very aggressive) reached out in another anon ask and apologized saying they don’t see the original post about deleting negative comments and stuff. I accidentally deleted it so I can’t respond directly, but I want to say sorry to that person if this sounded super douchey. I’m in a horrible headspace right now that is completely ruining my decision making and I’m trying really hard not to fuck up and be rude because that’s not who I am inside of my heart.
I am choosing to delete comments disagreeing with my rant posts right now. I want to make it clear that I am not doing this to censor anyone and your opinions are valid. I am doing it for damage control. I do not want to be posting these things and I definitely do not want to worsen the situation by getting too worked up and saying something horrible to someone that didn’t do anything wrong. I am in a very bad mental state and im doing the few things I can to protect myself from my own actions

This is not an invitation to send those disagreements as an ask, especially anonymously. Seriously, leave me tf alone.

my conspiracy theory
The music/entertainment industry is pushing far right propaganda.
I can’t go into a lot of detail rn because my brain is choosing to focus on other things. But I’ve been very skeptical since the AMA’s, when I was not manic.
Taylor Swift didn’t win any AMA’s, which was made me first feel skeptical but this is not about being bitter. That meant nothing to me at first, UNTIL I learned that the AMA’s do have judges who can change who wins. They also had Blake Shelton perform a “patriotic” song. It’s not like he’s some super popular musician, even amongst country fans.
It just feels weird to me. Swifties always show up for the fan voting, and paired with the Blake Shelton performance…
This isn’t just about Taylor Swift, by the way, as I said previously she’s my special interest so I pay close attention to her music and career, and that was just how I noticed this in the beginning and the situation I have the most knowledge on.

I typed it out last night but it didn’t post or save. I’ll type it out again and see if it works.
well i’m on the train of the music industry now. should my next rant be my lowkey conspiracy theory about the industry?
If you found this post in the wild instead of being one of my followers who had been watching this whole thing go down, feel free to check out the posts I’ve been making the past 12+ hours. I’m severely manic, so prepare yourself if you plan to do that

Dude, this might sound sort of preachy. But you could potentially say something you regret while in a manic state. I’ve gone through similar bouts before, and I upset several friends in a group chat because of it. It’s better to take a breather from social media before you go too deep into the conspiracy stuff and end up pissing off a fandom or something. Not to nag though, whatever you do it’s your choice
I get how the conspiracy thing sounded, it’s not nearly as extreme as that word makes it sound. It’s something I believe when im stable too. I’m also trying really hard to log off but I just keep coming back. Thank you for your concern, but im just far too fucked right now

opinion 1.5 (relates to opinion 1)
Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift are not “exactly the same” when it comes to activism and politics
Being skeptical of Chappell Roan, I see that a lot of people who agree with me think the same thing about Taylor Swift. Now, I have autism and Taylor Swift is my special interest. While that does add to my bias, it also means I know what tf I’m talking about when it comes to her.
Taylor Swift has done shit to actually help the LGBTQ+ community. In 2019 she made a music video with an almost entirely queer cast. The few people in the video who weren’t queer were outspoken allies who had also done things for the community. But much more importantly, she used the video to inform people of a petition she made supporting the Equality Act. When she won a (well deserved imo) VMA for that video, she brought up several cast members from the video, all of them queer and around half(?) of them POC. She used her acceptance speech to thank them and mention the petition which was then at the point that it had enough signatures to warrant a response from the White House. The Equality Act was soon passed and while it’s hard to say she is THE reason it got passed, it’s arrogant to say she didn’t help immensely.
That legislation helped LGBTQ people, disabled people, people of color, women and the little remaining humanity left in the United States.
She often acknowledges her own privilege in a respectful, self-aware manner. I have never heard of Chappell Roan doing this. In a song from TTPD, Taylor had a part where she talks about playing a game as a child with her friends where they imagined other decades to live in. One line goes, “I’d say the 1830’s but without all the racists and getting married off for the highest bid.” She uses this line to acknowledge not only a horrible issue that would harm her as a woman, but also a horrible issue that would not harm her as a white person.
She goes on to say, “everyone would look down, ‘cause it wasn’t fun now/Seems like it was never even fun back then/Nostalgia is a mind’s trick/If I’d been there, I’d hate it/It was freezing in the palace.”
This part is used to call out herself for false, harmful idolizations she had in the past. She also is very self aware in the final part of that, “it was freezing in the palace.” She is acknowledging the privilege she would have as a wealthy white person in that time, along side with the hardships.
In 2020, she spoke out in support of the removal of statues honoring horrific historical figures and events. She gave a very educated take on the whole situation. That education she exhibited was not a result of her childhood, it was her dedication. All of her schooling happened in Pennsylvania and Tennessee from the mid 90’s to 08. They were not teaching the things she spoke about when discussing the statues.
While this opinion ended up being more about Taylor Swift (I’m manic, my brain is going wherever it decided to go and I have no choice), my point about Chappell Roan still stands in this. We see from Taylor Swift a pretty solid example (with mistakes and flaws because she is a human being) of how to show up for people and be an activist as someone with such privilege. Chappell Roan does not:
do anything for marginalized folks
take a stand
acknowledge her privilege
I’m so sick of the idealization of her

opinion 1 (might be the only one I share depending on the response)
I feel like Chappell Roan’s trans allyship is performative.
Whenever I hear her talk about trans people, it just feels off and uncomfortable, like she doesn’t mean it.
I’m not super invested in even just her music, but from my understanding, she was raised in a very conservative household. It is not uncommon for people raised that way to hold on to some of the right wing views, so they’ll be all for the stuff that benefits them but still have racist, transphobic, etc beliefs.
From what I heard, she didn’t speak on the US presidential election back when it was happening because she claimed she didn’t know enough about politics to publicly support either candidate. I am not one of the people who believes celebrities should be required to speak on political and world issues, especially when they don’t understand all the complexities. (I believe they should be allowed to because they’re people who can have opinions, but that’s a whole different rant.) It seems to me though that someone who REALLY cares about trans people could understand enough to realize that one of the options was infinitely worse.
idk, it just upsets me whenever I see all this stuff, from trans people especially, worshipping her just because she mentions us in an interview every now and then.
