Sad and personal context below.

I lost my old cat today. Found him dying slowly and alone in the garage. I'm at least happy knowing he's no longer in pain, no longer suffering with the constant ear infections and needles for his diabetes.

I just wish he didn't have to be alone during the night. I wish I hadn't run away when I found him and that I couldn't bring myself to pat him for longer than a moment. I wish I was strong enough to go with him to the vet and be there while he passed. But I wasn't.

You were the kindest cat I've ever known.

I'll miss you, my sweet baby boy.
