Summary: Jack Ayers recounts the best and worst day of his life leading up to the demise of his family in a twisted fairytale. Years later, Aiden, the former employee, tries to help Jack let out his emotions in an unusual way.

I promised myself to work on other things like life or at least other fandoms but random experiences and being on an emotional rollercoaster made me want to write this angsty two-shot. At first, this was going to be a "normal" fairytale-motif one-shot, but hearing "Close To You" by the Carpenters inspired me to dive deeper into my indulgence and thirst for tears.

Basically, this is how I interpret Doey's origin story through Jack's point of view within the Aidenverse/"Aiding A Pal" series. I made it a two-shot because I did not want to break the flow and the rest came naturally to me.

This is for the prompt "Missing Mom" which I took figuratively and literally. I am only using the first verses of the song as platonic rather than romantic. Also, for my Player OC, Aiden is nonbinary/genderfluid who is AFAB and uses He/They pronouns. The later chapter would focus more on Aiden and Jack.

Without further ado, enjoy this fanfic that I cried throughout writing it in one day.
