No Sugar - Week 1
Tomorrow I begin my lifestyle change of eliminating refined sugar in my diet. I’m sure that the large majority of fitness inspired bloggers already understand the huge negative effects that sugar can have on one’s psychology and physiology. And if you’re not, the documentary “That Sugar Film” is a good place to start.
After recovering from a long battle with disordered eating, I’ve spent the last 12 months eating without too much thought, and feeling totally comfortable with that. I have a reasonably ‘healthy’ diet at the moment, but I’d like to experiment eliminating refined sugar from my diet for the next 4 weeks. I’d like to see if I notice any improvements in my overall health and wellbeing.
Currently I exercise regularly, running 2-3 times a week, weight lifting twice a week, and some yoga or stretching once a week. I plan to maintain this level of exercise throughout the next 4 weeks. Stay tuned for updates on how my body responds to cutting out refined sugar! Wish me luck!

Lazy post-workout dinner! Scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes and steamed broccoli. Sometimes I just need something quick when I get home late after a weights session.

The benefits of buying produce from farmer's markets
- Supporting local businesses - Supporting a local economy - Ensuring the products you buy were harvested recently - Thereby increasing the nutritional value of the foods - Decreasing your exposure to tempting pre-packaged, high kilojoule, processed foods often seen in super markets - Farmer's markets are fucking nice places to spend a morning
