THE FUTURE FOUNDATION SCHOOL ANNOUNCES NEW SPORTS COMPLEX

The Future Foundation School (widely known as TFFS), Kolkata, an initiative of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture, took its commitment to the holistic development of its students to a higher level by inaugurating its state-of-the-art multi-facility sporting complex in Uttar Bhag, Baruipur.

One of the top schools of Kolkata, The Future Foundation School, offering holistic education in the authentic sense of the term, has taken sports to a level par excellence, through this addition to its sports infrastructure.

Housed on 20 Bighas of land, this sports facility houses a 90 m X 45 m football ground, three concrete cricket pitches, a four-lane running track of 200 m, and an outdoor multipurpose court 120 ft X 120 ft for lawn tennis, basketball, and volleyball. It is a dynamically designed indoor multi-sports complex, aptly named, the Souplesse which means flexibility in French, and which houses two ergonomically designed courts to play all the court games such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton as well as for yoga, gymnastics, karate and eurhythmics. This also houses an AC hall.

This wonderful infrastructure provides a dynamic playground to the students of this top school, to explore their sporting passions. The inauguration of this sporting complex was on a special day: 29th February, this year, considered the Golden Day: the day of the supramental manifestation of The Mother, who led an exemplary life in Sri Aurobindo Ashram Pondicherry, and who espoused, together with Sri Aurobindo, the absolute essentiality of physical education. All the teachers and staff of The Future Foundation School attended the auspicious inauguration ceremony which began with the hoisting of The Mother's flag, followed by prayers and meditation and a soul-stirring speech by Principal, Ranjan Mitter.

The sprawling complex, being some distance away from the school, enjoys a pristine and verdant setting and offers a pollution-free environment. Accessing the facility of course means traveling, to and from school. Keeping upto the benchmark of being one of the best schools in the city, TFFS ensures that the students and teachers avail the AC buses that it arranges.
