I think this would be a case where the reader is never being mysterious on purpose, just very vague and spontaneous so Sukuna can never figure them out. I decided to write up some little headcanons but I think this is so cute! I love the idea of Sukuna being confused and frustrated trying to figure them out all the time.

Sukuna with a Mysterious Reader

Sukuna meeting you and constantly trying to figure you out with the little bits of information you give him. You were paired together for a project and he thought he’d figure you out easily and be able to get you to do all the work for him. You’re very quiet after all, so he assumes you must be a pushover. He is dumbfounded when after an entire conversation the only thing he managed to learn about you was your name.

Sukuna getting angry when you tell him your major is undecided and that you have a job but it isn’t important so he shouldn’t worry about it. He wants to know what kind of person you are but you give him nothing to work with. He gets even angrier when you guys meet up outside of class to work on your project and he discovers that you work at the school library. One of your coworkers greets you and makes small talk for a moment which gives you away. He can’t understand why you wouldn’t just tell him that was where you worked. You just shrug when he confronts you about it, again saying it didn’t seem important.

Sukuna trying to figure you out turns into a burning desire to know everything about you. It takes a long time for him to get most information out of you because you’re always vague. He’ll offer to pick up coffee for you and you tell him you just like whatever, he asks what hobbies you have and you just tell him you do lots of stuff. Sometimes he demands you give him a direct answer but you always just laugh and tell him to stop being so grouchy.

Sukuna is shocked to find you at a dingy dive bar he frequents, playing pool with his younger brother and friends in the back. He’ll ask you how you know Yuji and you respond by telling him you know lots of people. He tries to scold Yuji for bringing his friends to such a seedy place but you inform him it was your idea. You tell him that you like seedy bars, and it’s the most direct piece of information about yourself you’ve ever revealed to him.

Sukuna’s jaw practically hits the floor when you walk into class one day and ask him on a date. Sure he was into you, he found you cute, but with how vague you were he figured you weren’t interested. He says yes and on your first date he finally asks why you never tell him about yourself, accusing you of trying to act mysterious to get him hooked. You laugh and tell him you don’t do it intentionally but that if it got him hooked you were happy. 

Sukuna pieces you together through your many dates. He learns that you're vague with every description you give, even the directions to your house. Instead of an address you told him the street and that you lived in an apartment, on the third floor. It’s a trait that at times drives him mad, but mostly he finds it endearing. He finds it funny how you manage to confuse everyone and he enjoys that you never get too tied down or set in your ways.

Sukuna is stubborn and likes routine and your spontaneity does a lot of good for him. You often call him requesting he meet you somewhere with the vaguest directions possible, luckily you share your location with him so he can actually find you. Sukuna would be happy to repeat the same dinner date over and over but you keep things fresh by always finding something new for you to try together. New restaurants, a craft, a concert with only five people at it, he never knows what to expect when you tell him you’ve planned a date and he loves that. He learns that pretty much anything is fun if he’s doing it with you.

bf!Choso is extremely loyal and extremely doting. There’s a learning curve, you’re the first person he’s ever had romantic feelings for after all, but he’s always happy to put in the work to make you both happy. He’ll scan the web and ask around for new date ideas, Yuji will send him romantic movies to watch and Choso will study them with a pen and paper in hand. He’ll present to you a long list of date ideas and ask you to pick your favorites so he can plan accordingly. 

bf!Choso is always flustered by pda. If you so much as hold his hand or kiss his cheek you can bet his whole face is turning red. He’s not much better in private either. If you snuggle up to his chest his heart feels like it’s going to explode. Sitting in his lap leaves him to sit awkwardly until you prompt him to hold your waist. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been together, you always manage to fill him with butterflies.

bf!Choso isn’t nearly as social as his youngest brother. He enjoys smaller outings with just a few people to big parties. He’s very family oriented and he loves seeing you bond with his brothers. He’s happy to meet your family or bring you into his if they aren’t in the picture. Tender moments with the people he loves most make him happier than anything. He loves holidays and sees them as a great opportunity to bring all his favorite people together. He's a great gift giver.

bf!Choso is overprotective of you just like he is his brothers. You know it comes from a place of love, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t become overbearing sometimes. It will take a few long talks and some on the field experience for him to back off a bit. He’s always worried about the people he loves getting hurts and the fact that he can’t feel you the same way he can with his brothers only serves to make him worry even more. He’ll feel better once he sees for himself how capable you are of protecting yourself. Once he learns to take a few steps back you two are able to work really well together. Having you there to watch his back and being able to watch yours too brings him a lot of peace. He enjoys being a team.

bf!Choso loves it when you steal his clothes. They always come back to him smelling like you and he hates it when he has to wash the smell off. He thinks you look beautiful in everything but it warms his heart when he sees you wearing something of his. If you really want to make him happy you’ll get you both a piece of matching jewelry, something both of you can wear all the time that represents each other. He’ll fiddle with it whenever you’re apart and press a kiss to it if he needs to calm his nerves.

 bf!Choso loves staying with you before you move in. He likes how the whole space feels like you and finds everything there cozy and calming. When you do move in together he really enjoys decorating together and finding things you both love for the house. He loves to put up the pictures of the two of you, your friends, and his brothers. He loves being able to see all his favorite people looking so happy all together. Doing things together around the house makes him really happy: folding laundry, cooking, cleaning, it doesn’t matter as long as you do it together.

bf!Choso is not a morning person. He loves snuggling up in bed with you, he likes to bury his face against your skin and he loves how calm it is when you cozy up together in bed. There is almost nothing he hates more than having to wake up from that. Getting up out of your warm embrace always sours his mood and he will attempt to keep you in bed with him for as long as he can. Late mornings are his favorite. He likes to stay in bed long after the sun comes up and not move until your grumbling stomach commands you to get up.

bf!Choso is new to the modern era and finds a lot of freedom in the great variation of style he sees in the people around him. He has a lot of fun finding his own style, enjoying experimenting with his hair and clothes. He may pick up a few piercings and tattoos too as he discovers exactly what kind of aesthetic he likes. He feels the most comfortable experimenting around you because he knows you won’t judge him, you’re always encouraging. If you experiment with your look he always returns this energy and encourages you to try as many new things as you want. He thinks you look your best when you feel good about yourself and the reality is he’d think you’re the most beautiful woman that’s ever lived no matter what you had on.

bf!Choso will annoy you with his extreme indecisiveness. It isn’t a horrible trait by any means, but when you’re starving and he wants to carefully weigh out the merits of every restaurant in the city it drives you a little crazy. He’s a very thoughtful person with everything he does and while that is often a good thing, there are some decisions that don’t require intensive thought and consideration. There have definitely been a few times you fell asleep waiting for him to decide what movie to put on.

bf!Choso who can’t keep his feelings to himself. He gushes about you to his brothers and friends all the time, telling them about whatever cute thing you did that morning or how excited he is for an upcoming date. Everyone can see how much he loves you. For anyone who sees the two of you together it’s easy to see you’re equally obsessed.

bf!Yuji is crushing hard, he’s down so bad it’s actually pathetic. He fumbles his words in front of you, stutters when he tries to compliment you, and is the first to like any and everything you post. He thinks you’re the funniest person alive and sticks to you like velcro. He’s always asking if you want to hang out or train or anything else he can do to get you in the same room as him. He waits for the absolute perfect opportunity to ask you out, either taking you to some big festival or saving up for months to take you to some fancy restaurant.

bf!Yuji who fakes being totally confident when he asks and then freaks out when you say yes. He’s gasping and asking if you really mean it and then hugging you so tight you almost pass out. Things fall into place quickly after that, you two are a natural fit.

bf!Yuji always keeps you on your toes. He likes for dates to be really special and exciting so he always wants to do something grand. He won't admit it to you, but he knows he's going to die young. He's living on an extended death sentence which means he won't get the long happy life he truly wants with you. He hopes to create as many special and lasting memories with you as he can, hoping that he'll be able to relive them on his death bed and you'll be able to find comfort in them when he's gone.

bf!Yuji does not consider nights in or casual hang outs as dates because they aren't special enough. That doesn't mean he loves those moments any less though, in fact nights in with you are one of his favorite things on earth. The man is glued to you 24/7 so of course he’s excited for any chance to cuddle. He needs every part of his body to touch every part of yours, he’ll smother you any chance he gets. If you have to get up to pee or anything really he’s whining and asking you to stay. He gives you the sad puppy eyes whenever you escape from his arms and pouts until you return to him.

bf!Yuji uses his crazy athletic ability to show off to you any chance he can get. He’s always telling you to watch him do something he's sure you'll find impressive. He'll offer to carry you everywhere you go. He gets butterflies every time you call him strong or tell him how cool he is. If you go to an arcade he will drag you over to every game that involves any amount of athletic ability and make you watch him set a new high score. You always love it, except for the time he broke a machine and got you kicked out.

bf!Yuji is constantly coming up with new pet names for you. They are sometimes sweet but more often over the top and totally ridiculous. He’s constantly changing your name in his phone too, and he spends hours editing pictures of you to make your profile picture. He likes adding all sorts of little stickers and drawing little hearts around your face.

bf!Yuji also loves to post these and add a long caption calling you his little schmoopy schnookums pie while he declares his undying love for you. His over the top gestures are how he shows you that you’re always on his mind. He doesn’t care if anyone else thinks it’s embarrassing or cringy, he just cares that you know how much he loves you. He loves you so much that he sometimes feels like he might explode if he doesn’t express it. 

bf!Yuji is clingy to the point of annoyance. You do have to remind him that you need space and time alone and while he might not understand (he wants to spend every moment with you), he respects your needs and wants. He wants you to be happy all the time and if that means leaving you alone for a few hours then he will.

bf!Yuji tries his best to let the two of you have quiet moments together too. Even though he is a yapper at heart, he manages to sit for hours without saying a word, sometimes. As time goes on he starts to treasure these moments and find a lot of comfort in just sitting beside you, not talking about anything. It’s enough just knowing you're right there with him.

bf!Yuji is not the kind of person to get insecure. He's more nervous in the begging of your relationship, but once you tell him you love him the first time that flies out the window. You love him and he loves you and to him that’s enough to know things will always work out.

bf!Yuji gets incredibly anxious anytime he has to buy you a gift. Birthdays and holidays are a nightmare for him. He never knows what to get you and will spend hours pacing around countless stores to find the perfect gift. He tries to remind himself that it’s the thought that counts and that you’re always happy with what he gets you, but it never settles his nerves. He’ll second guess himself until the moment he hands the gift over. Watching your lips curl up into a big smile as you open it up is what finally makes him relax.

bf!Yuji is never possessive and almost never jealous. The only thing that really makes him jealous is when you go to the movies without him. It doesn’t matter who you’re going with either, he's jealous. He loves the movies and he loves you so of course he loves going to the movies with you. He’ll never admit he's jealous, but he’ll definitely pout and tell you how much how much he wanted to see the film. Of course you can see right through him and will always offer to go see it again with him. That always brings him back to his usual chipper self. 

bf!Yuji turns into the biggest baby when he gets sick. The common cold is a death sentence as far as he is concerned. The only possible cure is you feeding him soup and rubbing his back. He will beg for snuggles and kisses but dramatically tell you not to come near him so you can’t catch whatever deadly virus he has when you actually try. As soon as he’s better though he’s expecting you to help him make up for lost time by letting him smother you to his heart's content. 

bf!Yuji will do literally anything for you. He’d figure out how to rearrange the planets if that was what you wanted, and he'd do it with a smile. If you need help with anything at all he wants to be your first call. You want to redecorate your room? Call Yuji. You want a late night snack? Call Yuji. You want to rob a bank? Call Yuji. He's the definition of ride or die and he never lets you forget how treasured you are.

bf!Sukuna does not realize he’s falling for you until he is already in love with you. It’s not entirely a falls second and harder situation, but he certainly realizes it later than you. Something would trigger it for him, either you going on vacation or a date or something that forced him to face the idea of his life without you. Once he realized how much he hated that idea he realized that he was absolutely in love with you.

bf!Sukuna who would do anything to get with you. He’ll make it know to you the second he realizes his feelings that he wants you to be his and no one else's ever. He’s an intense guy and he’s overwhelming with his confession. It sounds more like a proposal but he’s only asking you to be his girlfriend. Luckily your used to his intensity at that point and agree but tell him he has to talk you on an actual date before you become official.

bf!Sukuna going to panic at first but once you’re together it all just clicks. You’re a natural fit and he quickly becomes more affectionate and soft with you. He has no shame about acting this way in public too, he wants everyone on earth to you know that you belong to each other and they should all just leave you alone.

bf!Sukuna loves when other people see you holding hands or kissing or anything else, he thinks everyone is jealous of his perfect girlfriend and finds joy in thinking about them crying to themselves over the fact that they can’t have you. If he tells you this you just tell him he’s ridiculous and that no one is thinking of stealing his girlfriend because everyone is terrified of him. He’ll laugh in response and tell you that’s for good reason.

bf!Sukuna is a scary man, and you know that he's quick to anger and has no qualms about turning things physical. You’ve seen him get into numerous fights, but still, you just can’t imagine finding him scary. He can be snarky and mean sure, but he’s always so soft with you that you’d sooner compare him to a kitten than a monster. He’s careful to never raise his voice with you, even in the most heated arguments. He knows that he’s a scary man, it’s something he takes pride in, but he doesn’t want you to see him that way. You’re the only person he views as his equal, so he makes sure that he treats you as such.

bf!Sukuna doesn’t get to the point of explosive anger with you, but he’s certainly still dramatic. He’s not the best at regulating his emotions so sometimes he simply storms out of the room. It scared you the first time but he called you an hour later from the gym and apologized. He’d been getting worked up and he needed some alone time. It was one of the first times he’d really gotten vulnerable with you, confessing that he was worried about saying something nasty to you or scaring you with his anger. After a long talk you asked him to just tell you when he needed a break or time alone and you’d happily give it to him. He does his best but sometimes he still storms out and part of you thinks he just likes making a dramatic exit.

bf!Sukuna can be overbearing at times, and controlling. It comes more so from a selfish desire to have everything his way than an actual desire to control you. Once you told him you felt like he was trying to control you he was quick to back off because he really does want to be the best partner possible. He feels that’s what you deserve and he wants to be the one to give you everything you deserve.

bf!Sukuna is willing to work on his issues in context of you and your relationship, so you can both be happy together. However, if anyone else were to complain about his behavior he’d likely respond with a few cutting words and possibly a slap.

bf!Sukuna looks up to you in a lot of ways. You’re much calmer than him and kind to everyone you meet. He thinks you bring a good balance to each other because you can be overly kind to the point of being a pushover and he can be, well, just an asshole.

bf!Sukuna is very protective of you, because he thinks you're too kind and too good for the world and anyone who hurts you should pay ten fold. Surprisingly though, you're just as protective over him. He’s a perfectionist to a fault and you often have to drag him away from a task and force him to relax. You’re the only one who knows about his secretive soft side so you protect that part of him with your life, making sure he always knows he’s loved and appreciated and that he doesn’t have to be perfect at everything.

bf!Sukuna who expects perfection from himself but is the biggest hype man in the world when it comes to you. Anything you want to try he’ll encourage and tell you you’re great at it no matter what. He adores watching you try new things too, he thinks you look cute when you concentrate and the joy on your face once you finally accomplish whatever task you’re working at is the most heartwarming sight he can imagine. 

bf!Sukuna thinks you and everything you do are perfect. If you decide to paint something he’s declaring it greater than the Mona Lisa and hanging it on his wall immediately. You bake cookies and he’s telling you you should open a bakery because they’re so good people will pay millions for them. When he taught you how to drive stick shift and you kept failing to change gears he insisted there must be something wrong with his car and that he’d have to fix it so you could try again. You lost a game of pool? Doesn’t matter, you’re a beginner and he swears he’s never seen anyone do as good as you when they’re starting off. He’ll swear on his life he was way worse than you when he started and that you'll be better than him in no time.

bf!Sukuna who's always encouraging, even when you're facing an abject failure. You’ve learned that’s just one of the ways he shows his love. He’s not the type of man to sit down and pour his heart out to you, but he makes sure you know he’ll always be there to support you, no matter what. He sometimes tries to express himself more verbally, and though it often comes out sounding more like a command, you appreciate it nevertheless. 

bf!Sukuna is very physical, almost always having his arm around your shoulders or his hand on your back. He is always the driver and keeps his hand planted firmly on your thigh wherever you go. At night he’s cradling you against his large body, wrapping you up tight in his arms, and burying his face in your hair. He’s pulling you into his lap at parties, always trying to sneak into the shower with you, hugging you from behind anytime he can. The man can’t keep his hands to himself. One of his favorite things to do is wait until you’re all cozied up watching a movie and then start to tickle you. He likes the way you whine and tell him to stop because you’re trying to watch the movie. You try to push him off which always leads to the two of you getting into a wrestling match which he sometimes lets you win.

bf!Megumi falls for you quickly but keeps it to himself for a long time. He thinks it’s just a passing crush but eventually realizes his feelings aren’t going to change. It’s a slow burn and all of your friends are waiting for months for the two of you to get together. It finally happens at a party, a little bit of alcohol helping you to both overcome your nerves and finally make a move.

bf!Megumi is pretty insecure about his ability to be a good boyfriend and isn’t sure how to navigate things at first. He’s awkward about affection, never sure when it’s the right time to hold your hand or give you a kiss. The longer you’re together the more comfortable he becomes and the better he learns to express his affection to you.

bf!Megumi who is always taking care of you. He’s detail oriented so he notices right away if you seem a little down or off. He’s always going to try to remedy this whether that means buying you lunch or offering to stay in bed with you all day. He does a lot of little things to make sure you’re always well taken care of. Bringing an umbrella or extra jacket for you, carrying your bags, opening every door for you, any little thing he can do to make your day better.

bf!Megumi isn’t the biggest fan of pda. He’ll hold your hand and dance with you at parties, maybe a public kiss, usually only on the cheek though. He prefers to keep any sort of intimacy private, he finds physical touch very special and doesn’t want anyone else to see you two like that. He’ll never reject your advances if you go to hug him from behind or play with his hair, but he's certainly not going to initiate unless you two are alone. He’s not a very jealous person but if he is feeling jealous or protective he may put a hand around your waist or pull you to his chest. 

bf!Megumi who is a total cuddle monster the second you’re alone. It’s like a flip switches the second you two are left alone and suddenly he can't keep his hands off you. He wants you to sit in his lap or lay on his chest while he reads. He loves the times when you two can sit in comfortable silence and will soak up all the attention you give him happily. He’s a big fan of both playing with your hair and having his hair played with. He’s definitely learning how to braid or do other hairstyles for you so you can sit in his lap while he pampers you.

bf!Megumi is a homebody, he prefers to spend most of his time alone at home with you. Quality time is everything to him. He’s not picky about what you do together but he enjoys when you do a spa night together, finding it impossibly cute when you pin your hair up together and put on sheet masks. He also enjoys cooking together or any sort of little diy you can work on together. 

bf!Megumi is the greatest photographer in the world, and the most persistent. He is constantly taking pictures of you. From cute planned photos for your socials, to the most ridiculous candids of you drooling in your sleep. He finds them all endearing and will scroll through them on his way to and from missions. In contrast he hates having his picture taken and always manages to cover his face when you try to sneak one. The only time he enjoys having his picture taken is if it’s the two of you together. His wallpaper is always set to whatever cheesy couples photo you’ve most recently taken.

bf!Megumi who is incredibly sensitive under his nonchalant demeanor. He’s much more insecure than he lets off. He’s always worried about not making you happy enough and often feels like he needs to earn the right to be with you. He gets anxious during any sort of argument that you might leave and can often shut down because of it. In his mind he's preparing for the worst possible outcome. He needs you to be patient with him and take the time to talk about his insecurities. He needs the assurance that he in no way has to earn your love, he already has it, and that you’re not going to leave over a little argument. 

bf!Megumi who you have to push him to talk about issues sometimes, but once he feels more secure in your relationship is much more open and has no qualms about telling you when he needs some extra attention. Instead of shutting down he begins to listen calmly and talk through issues with a fine tooth comb. He'll listen very calmly while you present your feelings and take every word to heart because he truly wants to understand your side of things. He always tries to make sure you can come to a conclusion that leaves you both satisfied, whether it be something as simple as what to make for dinner or a serious argument over his seemingly constant need to summon Mahoraga.

bf!Megumi who will blush and shy away whenever you spend time doting on him. If you notice he’s withdrawn or seeming down you’ll make sure to shower him with praise and promise him you’re here if he wants to talk about it. It’s fills him with butterflies no matter how long you two are together. He's normally not one to care much for compliments but when they come from you they mean the world to him.

bf!Megumi who you often have to beg to go to parties or outings. He’ll always tell you it’ll be more enjoyable if you just stay in or do something just the two of you. He loves spending time with you and all of your collective friends, he’d just prefer a quiet game night or small dinner to a party or big outing. He’s always glad you make him go out though because he always ends up having fun. He’ll never admit it but he definitely gets fomo when he stays home.

bf!Megumi won’t talk much about your relationship with others, he’s very private in that way. He’ll post pictures of you sure, but the captions are rare and very simple when they are present. He knows that you know how beautiful you are and how much he loves you and that’s all he cares about. That being said he can't stand to have anyone else comment on you or your relationship. Nobara asked him if he even liked you after she deemed his birthday post for you inadequate and he replied in a deadpan that you were the love of his life and he’d kill her if she ever suggested otherwise. 

bf!Megumi who carries you to bed after you fall asleep on movie nights or in the car or anywhere else. If need be he’ll wake you up to help you get ready for bed but if not he’ll just tuck you in and curl up beside you. You often have to tear off the blankets in the middle of the night because the man is basically a space heater. Megumi insists on sleeping under no less than three blankets despite the fact that he basically is a heated blanket. It takes you a while to find the perfect sleeping arrangement for both of you. Eventually you settle on opening a window or cranking the ac and then curling up under a mountain of blankets and tangling your bodies together.

Summary: my ideas about how Sukuna would be as a partner

bf!Sukuna does not realize he’s falling for you until he is already in love with you. It’s not entirely a falls second and harder situation, but he certainly realizes it later than you. Something would trigger it for him, either you going on vacation or a date or something that forced him to face the idea of his life without you. Once he realized how much he hated that idea he realized that he was absolutely in love with you.

bf!Sukuna who would do anything to get with you. He’ll make it know to you the second he realizes his feelings that he wants you to be his and no one else's ever. He’s an intense guy and he’s overwhelming with his confession. It sounds more like a proposal but he’s only asking you to be his girlfriend. Luckily your used to his intensity at that point and you agree, but tell him he has to take you on an actual date before you become official.

bf!Sukuna is going to panic at first but once you’re together it all just clicks. You’re a natural fit and he quickly becomes more affectionate and soft with you. He has no shame about acting this way in public too, he wants everyone on earth to you know that you belong to each other and they should all just leave you alone.

bf!Sukuna loves when other people see you holding hands or kissing or anything else, he thinks everyone is jealous of his perfect girlfriend and finds joy in thinking about them crying to themselves over the fact that they can’t have you. If he tells you this you just tell him he’s ridiculous and that no one is thinking of stealing his girlfriend because everyone is terrified of him. He’ll laugh in response and tell you that’s for good reason.

bf!Sukuna is a scary man, and you know that he's quick to anger and has no qualms about turning things physical. You’ve seen him get into numerous fights, but still, you just can’t imagine finding him scary. He can be snarky and mean sure, but he’s always so soft with you that you’d sooner compare him to a kitten than a monster. He’s careful to never raise his voice with you, even in the most heated arguments. He knows that he’s a scary man, it’s something he takes pride in, but he doesn’t want you to see him that way. You’re the only person he views as his equal, so he makes sure that he treats you as such.

bf!Sukuna doesn’t get to the point of explosive anger with you, but he’s certainly still dramatic. He’s not the best at regulating his emotions so sometimes he simply storms out of the room. It scared you the first time but he called you an hour later from the gym and apologized. He’d been getting worked up and he needed some alone time. It was one of the first times he’d really gotten vulnerable with you, confessing that he was worried about saying something nasty to you or scaring you with his anger. After a long talk you asked him to just tell you when he needed a break or time alone and you’d happily give it to him. He does his best but sometimes he still storms out and part of you thinks he just likes making a dramatic exit.

bf!Sukuna can be overbearing at times, and controlling. It comes more so from a selfish desire to have everything his way than an actual desire to control you. Once you told him you felt like he was trying to control you he was quick to back off because he really does want to be the best partner possible. He feels that’s what you deserve and he wants to be the one to give you everything you deserve.

bf!Sukuna is willing to work on his issues in context of you and your relationship, so you can both be happy together. However, if anyone else were to complain about his behavior he’d likely respond with a few cutting words and possibly a slap.

bf!Sukuna looks up to you in a lot of ways. You’re much calmer than him and kind to everyone you meet. He thinks you bring a good balance to each other because you can be overly kind to the point of being a pushover and he can be, well, just an asshole.

bf!Sukuna is very protective of you, because he thinks you're too kind and too good for the world and anyone who hurts you should pay ten fold. Surprisingly though, you're just as protective over him. He’s a perfectionist to a fault and you often have to drag him away from a task and force him to relax. You’re the only one who knows about his secretive soft side so you protect that part of him with your life, making sure he always knows he’s loved and appreciated and that he doesn’t have to be perfect at everything.

bf!Sukuna who expects perfection from himself but is the biggest hype man in the world when it comes to you. Anything you want to try he’ll encourage and tell you you’re great at it no matter what. He adores watching you try new things too, he thinks you look cute when you concentrate and the joy on your face once you finally accomplish whatever task you’re working at is the most heartwarming sight he can imagine. 

bf!Sukuna thinks you and everything you do are perfect. If you decide to paint something he’s declaring it greater than the Mona Lisa and hanging it on his wall immediately. You bake cookies and he’s telling you you should open a bakery because they’re so good people will pay millions for them. When he taught you how to drive stick shift and you kept failing to change gears he insisted there must be something wrong with his car and that he’d have to fix it so you could try again. You lost a game of pool? Doesn’t matter, you’re a beginner and he swears he’s never seen anyone do as good as you when they’re starting off. He’ll swear on his life he was way worse than you when he started and that you'll be better than him in no time.

bf!Sukuna who's always encouraging, even when you're facing an abject failure. You’ve learned that’s just one of the ways he shows his love. He’s not the type of man to sit down and pour his heart out to you, but he makes sure you know he’ll always be there to support you, no matter what. He sometimes tries to express himself more verbally, and though it often comes out sounding more like a command, you appreciate it nevertheless. 

bf!Sukuna is very physical, almost always having his arm around your shoulders or his hand on your back. He is always the driver and keeps his hand planted firmly on your thigh wherever you go. At night he’s cradling you against his large body, wrapping you up tight in his arms, and burying his face in your hair. He’s pulling you into his lap at parties, always trying to sneak into the shower with you, hugging you from behind anytime he can. The man can’t keep his hands to himself. One of his favorite things to do is wait until you’re all cozied up watching a movie and then start to tickle you. He likes the way you whine and tell him to stop because you’re trying to watch the movie. You try to push him off which always leads to the two of you getting into a wrestling match which he sometimes lets you win.

bf!Satoru who is absolutely obsessed with you, you can do no wrong in his eyes and he will blindly side with you on anything and everything. Giving you absolute princess treatment and never letting you lift a finger when you’re with him.

bf!Satoru is super clingy and spends every moment he can with you. He wants your attention on him no matter what and he does not care if that means annoying you or embarrassing himself. Anytime he comes home from a mission he claims he’s been so exhausted that he simply needs you to stay in the house and cuddle with him for hours until he’s rejuvenated. Of course you know he’s lying, you always agree though, and remind him that he doesn’t need to make excuses to get you so snuggle with him.

bf!Satoru already knows this but he likes the dramatics and sees his begging as a way to remind you of how much he loves you and how essential you are to his happiness. Since he often has to leave for missions you don’t get as much time together as either of you would like, so he always wants to make sure you know how much he appreciates you. 

bf!Satoru can be immature and annoying, but he also knows the importance of making his partner feel loved. He’ll spoil you in every way possible, with material goods, big romantic gestures, and sweet things he whispers so only you can hear. He

bf!Satoru brags about you to everyone who will listen, any event you attend features Satoru telling every person there how pretty and wonderful you are. Even in the middle of a fight he never has a bad thing to say about you, he can’t stand the idea of you ever feeling insecure in your relationship. He always makes sure you know you're the center of his universe.

bf!Satoru is eternally doting and loving but he still has his fair share of annoying habits. He’s immature in a lot of ways, not cleaning up after himself or teasing you about sensitive subjects. He certainly knows how to get on your nerves, but he also knows when he’s gone too far. He has no qualms about apologizing and while he is reluctant to give you space (he’d rather solve any issues as soon as they arrive) he will if you ask him. He doesn’t believe in going to bed angry and will always push to solve issues before you go to sleep. 

bf!Satoru is naturally protective, and certainly crosses the line into being overprotective around you. You rarely go on missions together because of this, but you're always there to take care of each other when you get home. Outside of work you don’t mind his overprotectiveness as much, it often shows in strange ways you find quite endearing. He’ll carry you over mud puddles and make sure he’s always on the outside of the sidewalk, often he extends his infinity to you when you’re out to ensure your safety. He let’s the students pick on him all they want, but if they try it with you he’ll assign them detention or challenge them to a fight. 

bf!Satoru gets along with your friends wonderfully. He loves when you invite him to girl’s night and he gets to participate in the gossip. He’s always especially interested in the romantic escapades of your friends, assuring them he has the best dating advice because he managed to get you to date him after all. He gets pouty when other boyfriends are brought along because he feels more special when he’s the only one that gets to come. His protectiveness of you extends to your friends too, he’s examining every drink you all order with his six eyes and he’s always happy to be the sober driver. 

bf!Satoru works hard to make sure you know how loved you are and needs the same assurance from you. He loves any gesture that shows you were thinking of him. Picking him up his favorite sweet or sneaking a note into his suitcase before a trip is enough to make his whole week.

bf!Satoru loves laying in bed, his head on your chest and your hand massaging his scalp. It’s the only time he can truly relax. He loves when you lay there and you pour your heart out to him, tell him how much you love and appreciate him and how he is your world as much as you are his. He loves pda, but treasures your moments alone much more. He loves feeling like it's just the two of you in the universe.

bf!Satoru loves the sound of your voice and finds it more comforting than anything on earth. If he’s having a bad day he’ll ask you to read to him or sing to him while he falls asleep. He doesn’t care if it’s over the phone or in person, or whether or not you think you're a good singer. To him your voice is the sweetest thing in the world. If you notice he’s upset and offer to read to him or sing to him it’ll melt his heart and maybe even make him cry. 

bf!Satoru only lets himself be vulnerable with you. He’ll tell you everything about him, his life and feelings are an open book. He needs that sort of communication from you too. Every random story you tell him is committed to his memory. His favorite dates are ones where you can spend hours talking and filling each other in on every little thing that’s happened in your lives.

bf!Satoru is ready to get married the moment he lays his eyes on you. He knows instantly that you’re the one for him and never questions that for the rest of his life. You are his soul mate and his other half. He believes there’s a gold string tying your souls together and he considers himself incredibly lucky to be tied to you.
