Bank Holidays - my new favourites
As you can see from my previous post(s) I had an amazing bank holiday at the start of the month and as the next one is fast approaching, I thought I should finally tell you what I got up to! Considering all we had planned was go to the pub on Saturday Night it ended up being quite eventful!
1. Saturday - We went to a tea rooms. Back in January we won a mini two for two at a local tea rooms and we finally made use of it! However, us being little fatties decided that the mini tea wasn’t enough so we upgraded to the full version. We should have stuck with the mini. The sandwiches were amazing! Ham and Mustard and Chicken Mayo. Then the scones. They were ginormous. We were both expecting tiny little ones like you get from a shop but nope they were huge. With Jam and Cream. We had no signal so weren’t able to find out what the “correct etiquette” was so we went for one with jam then cream and one with cream and then jam. We both decided jam and then cream was the correct way. Apparently it turns out that it depends on what part of the country your from. Who knew? Then finally, the cake. There were so many to pick from! All handmade. Some random flavours - David went for chocolate and beetroot, I went for Lemon Drizzle. David managed to finish his. Me on the other hand, not so much! Will definitely be going there again!
2. Spontaneous trip to Peterborough on the bus. Considering David drives the buses I am unsure why he wanted to travel on one on his day off but he is a bit crazy... He did have his first experience upstairs though. He was like a tired overexcited child...
3. Pub - Whistlestop’s first birthday. One year since it reopened and as we were there for opening night, we thought it would be rude not to go to the birthday. They have a new obstacle course there now, so I was very much looking forward to go on that. Just a shame that the five year olds did better than me!
4. Sunday - David had a day off from me as he went to Truckfest with his Dad. I went to the whistlestop for the second day in a row to have roast with Dad. The dogs came along too. Was nice.
5. Monday - Springfields festival. On Saturday I saw a sign for a craft show at Springfields so I decided we were going to go there. We also did a bit of shopping. Most of the time ended up sitting in the sun and eating ice cream in the deckchairs while listening to a band. Was a really good time. Can’t wait until next year!
6. We decided that we hadn’t had enough and wasn’t ready to go home therefore we drove to our local to find it was SHUT! We then travelled for about half an hour round the local villages. All the pubs were shut! ridiculous. Just as we were losing hope though we found that the next local was open so we went for a drink there with a lovely view of my car. OOO I love her <3
So yea, it might not seem that exciting for you. But my face hurt from smiling that weekend. Next weekend is another bank holiday and I hope it is just as exciting. David’s working on the Saturday but I have a two day car show to go to so watch this space!

Funny how everything just falls in to place
A few months ago everyone used to tell me “Ask for it and you will get it” or “Life won’t always be bad” and I never believed them. But where I am now, makes me realise that I am so glad that I went for it anyway. I followed my doubts where would I be??
As you will know from previous posts, I recently started a new job and there are no words to describe how amazing it is! This is my second three day weekend since working there and I really do not want it. I don’t want most weekends at the moment as it! Yea I know, weird right. I honestly never thought I would say that about a place of work.
Then, I have an amazing boyfriend, who is just perfect. Sorry but he is.
People keep telling me that I look and seem a lot happier now than I did before and I just brush it off. But I suppose on the inside I know that I am too. Yea nothing is ever completely perfect but I am very happy with my current season in my life!
Of course, the sunny weather helps that. Although the trips to beer gardens, have not helped my finances!
I will probably do a more detailed post at some point, but that will take planning so watch this space..

April Feedback
When I think of April for me, nothing really jumps out to me as being particularly amazing. One thing that can be said though, it has flown by! Need to start thinking about Christmas presents soon! Before I knew it I hadn’t touched my bullet journal for weeks and I really should start doing that again.
The start of the month started on a bit of downer... Other than the fact it was Easter (and I still have some chocolate left over from that) I was meant to go to football with my bio-father. However, the match got cancelled - just as he arrived to pick me up, after travelling two hours. All was not wasted though, as we had a good chat and I learn a lot from him about what’s been going on recently. I only got back in touch with him 8 years ago and I have never really had a proper chat with him before.
Quiz Night - What an absolute wreck that was. Got complete annihilated and we had a bigger team than usual! Shocking. It was obviously as we weren’t where we usually sit. I’m not joking - every time we sit somewhere else we go to the absolute shambles.
Anniversary - David and I’s (I’m not sure of the correct word) first anniversary of many. After saying that we weren’t doing anything to celebrate it as it was a random day we plucked out the air. pfft. David put a soppy status on facebook and we had takeaway for dinner. Was good. Not what everyone would want but it was perfect for us.
Fast Show 2018 - I suppose my second highlight (only as the anniversary kind of needs to be the first). First car show of the season. There hasn’t been much about my love of cars on here yet, but there will be now it’s that time of year again. Anyway, Santa Pod, the day wasn’t anything special and I am glad I bought the tickets cheap rather than on the day but it was a day out. The queues to get in and out were ridiculous. Two hours each way - that’s just at the arena plus the one and a half journey time on top of that. Oh well, see what next year brings. The next show is at the end of May - Modified Nationals in Peterborough. Can’t wait for that. I go for the two days as there is too much to do on just one, however I probably will be helping out on a stand Saturday which I am unsure how to feel about :/
Also April was one of those months I had been dreading - Birthdays! 5! April was a popular month obviously. I mean it’s nice to see people and that but it isn’t nice on the bank account! I have one birthday in May which means I shall hopefully be able to treat myself, or start planning Christmas. Or I could just be an adult and save it. pffft.

Another month down
So another month of 2018 has flown by.... Here are the highlights-
1. Snow Day! Now I know that got a mention last month but for the first time since leaving school I was unable to get anywhere because of the snow! There were accidents on every road leaving our town so the buses did not run. Can’t say I enjoyed it that much especially as I didn’t get paid! And also in my previous job I didn’t have a single day off, then a week before I leave, BAM! Frustrating!
2. I got my hair cut by mice! Well not exactly by mice but the sign looks like it’s called Hair By Mice, not Alice. Was nice to have a little pamper session. Said to myself that I was going to look after my hair, that hasn’t happened.
3. David’s Birthday!! He was 34! Old git. Last year I missed his birthday so the day after I was told that I needed to get him a coffee and some chocolate so I did the same this year! Plus the additions of a chopping board, PJs and a badge. He is a lucky guy.
4. Leaving my old job! Enough said.
5. Historical day. Dave and I have started researching the local history so we decided that on one Saturday we would visit the heritage centre in our town. Learnt quite a bit then we took a walk to an old tunnel just outside the town. It used to be an old railway so that was quite odd seeing it as it is now.
6. Mother’s Day. Was nice to have a day with Mum. Been ages since we did that. We went to the Whistlestop Pub and then in the evening watched Ladybird and Pitch Perfect 3. Pretty sure I have done a previous blog on that.
7. Starting the new job. Love it now as much as I did on my first day. No regrets there at all. Will have to do a blog in the future on that one.
8. Meeting a friend. I finally got round to meeting with Rose for the first time this year. We were meant to meet in February but because of the snow it didn’t happen, which was sad. We went to our local pub that does two for one on food. Ended up being a good night, just a shame it was on a school night and I was driving.
9. My childhood day. See previous blog post for information on that. And yes, we have started using the Hello Kitty money box. It has a whole 48 pence in it. WINNING.
10. Lazy day. Mine and Dave’s first and only lazy day. Not because it wasn’t fun but because it just wasn’t us. The food from wingmen’s was good though. I think they appreciate us as a new customer as David has given them in idea for their Wednesday offer “Wingsdays”. He deserves a medal for that one.
11. Light’s out Earth Day. We came across this as a last minute thing. David is very much into his world saving and recycling stuff so it had to be done. It was a shame we found it last minute though as we weren’t really prepared. He had also been working so it was very rushed. If we were doing it properly we would have had all electrics off but again, we weren’t prepared for that. Next time we will do better.

Childhood weekend
So last weekend can only be described as one that brought back the memories of childhood.
It all started on the Saturday - I was meant to go to The Deep in Hull but due to the forecast snow we thought better of it. So what did we do instead?
Well firstly we went to Paint a Pot. I painted a Hello Kitty money box. What is more adult than Hello Kitty and painting.
Later on that day we then got the Lego out! My friend had a Lego Technic kit to make a rally car and I was using the spare bits he had lying around to try and build a bus. A lot harder than it first seem! Got quite a bit through but ran out of time. Is it wrong I want to go to my friends again just to play with Lego? Never too old for that stuff. It probably is a good thing that I have no money as I would be buying all the kits. Alternatively, I would be getting the adult version - furniture from IKEA,
Then on the Sunday, I sat in my Hello Kitty onesie all day. See the theme here... My boyfriend always said to me we will never have a PJ day but the 18 March 2018 proved him wrong. In fairness he was ill but I’m still counting it. It was just nice, doing nothing. Just chilling and not caring. Was far too cold to go out anyway. Not sure it will happen again any time soon though.

Out with the old and in with the new!
Bit late posting this one but just wanted to give a brief update on life...
As you know I recently started a new job and I just wanted to let you know that I am getting on great! Picking it all up very easily but I think my previous experience is helping that. Definitely the best decision I made and I have no regrets with it, only that I should have done it sooner!
The highlight is getting up at 1730 instead of 1815. Everyone said to me before I finished at previous place that I won’t need to worry about the buses anymore and I never thought it bothered me. But since I have not had to commute to and from work it feels so much better, I don’t think I could ever go back to commuting!
Will keep you posted.

Mother's Day
So in the UK it was Mother's Day the Sunday just gone and I thought I would give you a brief overview of what my mother and I did.
Firstly, we went to the Whistlestop. Hardly a surprise! I will post the pictures in a separate post but for starters I had breaded Brie (honestly it was the size of a piece of cake!). For mains I had a pie type thing of some description - I can't remember the official name of it. And for pudding, a creme brule cheesecake - it was the best of both worlds.
In the evening we watched Ladybird. This film was not what either of us was expecting. When I first saw the trailer I had little to no interest but as I saw it advertised more and more it peaked my interest. The way it was portrayed made it seem very lifelike with the relationship between a mother and her daughter. Not what it was at all. Probably won't go out my way to see it again.
Pitch Perfect 3 - We decided to watch this again, and I am sure it won't be the last time! However I do have mixed views on it. I like the music and of course my woman crush - Anna Kendrick, but I feel like the story line was a bit pointless. I won't give anything away for anyone that hasn't seen it, but the father aspect just seemed a bit random. I also feel like it might not be the last we see the Bellas. The way the film ended made it seem like a reunion could be done in a few years time but we shall see. The credits were good and suggested strongly that it would definitely be the last (did anyone else notice the majority of the clips are from PP2!?)
