me, personally?

i’m tired of cis gays thinking that their gayness makes them more entitled to speak on trans issues than any other cis person.

“As a gay man, I believe in the LGB community.”

“As a lesbian, I don’t think MEN belong in WOMEN’S spaces.”

“As a bisexual person, I don’t think non-binary people exist.”

Like, just take the first part out bro. Who you wanna fuck does not get you any closer to the trans community. Recently I’ve seen an unfortunate amount of lesbian terfs and other transphobic gays and it’s genuinely and wholeheartedly one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. We are fighting the same war what the fuck!

Cis gays in general tend to think they are the most oppressed group in the world— especially white cis gays, I’ve noticed. This is being said as a white person so don’t open fire on me, but even if it was being said by a person of color, y’all gotta learn to be normal about that!! because it’s true!!! I deal with so many cis gays talking about all the horrible things they deal with— which is a valid complaint! those things should not happen —but then when someone else speaks on something discriminatory that happened to them, transphobia or racism or xenophobia or another form of discrimination, they immediately jump to conclusions that somehow the oppressed person is in the wrong. That or better yet, they ARE the one oppressing those people.

Recently I had the displeasure of speaking to a cis guy who is gay and we were talking about music and stuff, I listen to queer punk so the topics that those bands cover came up and he was so standoffish about neopronouns and polyamory and shit. like dude we are a common enemy in their eyes i need you to get it togetherrr

this is just me venting about randos being fucking weird about trans people. once again, the divide between gay and queer dawns on me.

might not be adding anything crazy to the conversation here but i do have something to say.

briana boston— the woman who has been arrested with a $100,000 bail for saying “delay, deny, depose” to a health insurance rep —is from my city. the woman who was quite literally arrested for exercising her free speech, i share my city with her.

we as humans tend to not realize the weight of these situations until we humanize people in our mind. i have walked past this woman at the grocery store. we frequented the same cafe. i’m seeing people that know her in my local community in an uproar, citing that she would never hurt a fly.

when it’s your neighbors, it’s a lot harder to look away.

so please remember that these people we are fighting for, they’re neighbors. they’re our neighbors. she’s my neighbor.
