This summer an extremely talented friend of mine, Jason Nolan, has been putting out some fantastic music with original exotic vibes. A photo that we made together earlier in the year has been used for the cover artwork on iTunes and Spotify for his single 'Mister Myriad', but he's just dropped an amazing new track this week, 'Opals & Banonos' (from new EP Wonder Years) so go check him out and chill in the sun this evening x

One of my favourite spots in Edinburgh, looking out across the city from Calton Hill.

Newcastle, 2016
Been a while, but have got loads of rolls back recently, so here goes! I’ll start with a few shots from a trip to Edinburgh.
First time shooting Ektar 100 too, was nice to branch away from Portra for a change. Need to give Ektar a go on 120 too, very rich and extremely fine detailed.

Just got round to scanning a roll of Tasma Mikrat 300 that I shot recently, so expect more photos from the roll this week.
The Tasma is a 40 years expired soviet film, shot at ISO 6 + developed in HC110-B, so was a bit of an experiment really. Scans are a bit dusty, but pretty pleased with some of the results. The negative has a really rich contrast and spectacular resolution, the grain is almost non-existent. Now time to make some prints...

Just got a roll of Fuji Pro 400H back from the lab. Here’s a handful of shots made around York, making the most of the first few warm Spring evenings this year.
Wanted to test the film in a few situations to see how it handled them all. Pretty pleased with the results. Not quite as warm as the Kodak stocks I’ve gotten to love recently, but incredibly crisp, with lovely soft grain and holds so much detail in a very fine way.
More soon!

Our second location for the Moonflower shoot was this beautiful pond, frozen over by the last of the cold winter in the Moors.

The second shot that I want to share from the Moonflower music video shoot is of one of our beautiful main locations for the video. Tucked away in the woods was this absolute gem, exuding peace and sanctity during the entire time we spent there.

I had the pleasure to shoot the incredible Liima last night at the always-fantastic Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. Absolutely unreal experience - the band’s talent and magic shone through in the most phenomenal way. More pictures to follow on @the405 later this week.

North Yorkshire Moors, February 2016.
I recently had the pleasure of shooting a music video for an amazing band from York (more details soon), and for the shoot we headed up deep into the North Yorkshire Moors. Over the next few days I’ll be posting a selection of photographs I shot during the intensive two-day shoot.
