She looks like an island
Feminine yet not
The ides of June bring us to division
But yet, we follow through
This is only the beginning,
But we know not what to do
So we twist and yell and scream
From where we can’t promise or bring
To pass the things
That we cannot bear
To breathe
She looks like an island
Lies upon lies
She tries to fit in, so she disappears
Into the laminate cardboard
Cupboards full of wishes
Tiny teacups with her intentions
Swirled inside.
She looks like an island
Her mother would refuse
She isn’t what she thought she would be
And They only tell the truth.
Truth. A solid gesture. The cancer it brings.
Astrological passion
The treasure shone anew.
Oil rubbed brass
A doorknob
The moulding between the ceiling and the walls
Noticeable enough.
To what end?

To those who were born into the privileged generations of living entities with the divine ability to create and produce life, specifically to naturally birth it from our bodies,
I will speak as one of you, speaking to those who have decided that their perceived gender is superior, and merits the inhuman treatment of those who deserve their utmost respect.
We made you, and we will stop making you.
How we get there, is entirely in your hands.

The problem isn’t with their perfectionism. It’s that they have placed their sense of self-worth onto it.
