Beware the Wrath of a Patient Thrull
To the younger ministers, senators, members of parliament and intelligence officers that the Old Thrull now sat in conference with, he looked stoic. Their mouth was a flat line, their eyes all looked at the same things, and their back was straight as they sat on their chair.
To the older officials, the rage of the Prime Minister of Thrullvia was almost tangible. If it had been tangible, at best, no one in the room would be alive. At worst, the building would be a pile of molten slag. And considering the videos, images, and files that The Old Thrull was sharing, the anger would be at its worst.
“Esteemed thrulls, considering what I have shown you, part of me wants to orchestrate a raid of each and every Futurist enclave on the plane of Kamigawa. The much more reasonable part of me still wants to, but does not want to go to war with the Imperial Court more. Considering what the noblewoman said ‘I do what I did for the empire. You cannot harm me in a way that matters.’, there is the potential that this corruption runs deep. We already know of one other family, House Hayashi, who is involved, although the degree of involvement is less known. They are better at keeping things secret than House Hinata, but we have allies who also seek their downfall. The Dokuchi Reckoners,” The Old Thrull said, having gotten out of his chair and began presenting a slide show with pictures of the various organizations and people, currently stopped on a shot of Koda, “The issue is, this group are known members of organized crime, many of who could easily be labeled as terrorists by the noble houses or other elements of the government. We need to have better intel on public opinion about these Reckoners within the nation of Kamigawa, especially beyond their home city of Towashi. If it comes out that we not merely approved of them, but sent them resources and thrullpower, the image of thrullkind could be soured to the Kamigawan populace long-term.”
“Well, clearly, we need more intelligence then. I propose we have the scrying department start deploying to remote locations on the plane, to begin observing the political leanings of the locals,” Grugnor Gurundes the 3rd, head of SCRY (Specialized Clairvoyance Researching Y’all) said.
“Normally, I would I agree, but as the goal here is establishing a good reputation, such practices are off the table. However, we have a potential ally whom we can engage for such practices. Mr. Vasro Menacari. Some of you may recognize that name, and many of those who do are asking themselves, why are you not considering the Obscura as a whole as a potential ally? Simply put, Capenna is a plane built upon exploitation. The Obscura exploit the futures of people. Vasro’s relation to that aspect of the family is a potential concern, but otherwise, he is more in line with our founding principles. In fact, he has given me a proposal for an inter-planar organization protecting the rights of artificially created beings that I will be introducing a measure to publicly join and fund to Parliament. But, for the purposes of Kamigawa and surveillance, he has the network of so-called lenses which can be used for gathering intelligence. Which reminds me, he has recently gained the ability to utilize green mana, so be sure to note and dispel any sudden formation of green mana as well as white, blue, or black.”
“While I agree with your point that having our people do the surveillance is not good, outsourcing it to an extra-planar criminal doesn’t really change how it looks,” Urlupa, current chair of the Senate’s intelligence committee interjected. “Instead, I propose that we simply ask outside agents and people on Kamigawa what the general consensus on the Dokuchi is.”
“That is a better solution. It is also in the realm of diplomats, so the specifics shall require input from them at a later date, as I alone do not serve as an adequate representation of discussing diplomatic policy. All in favor?” the Old Thrull asked the room. Every hand went up. “Then we shall proceed with that at a later date.”
“Next on the docket of this emergency meeting, the detaining of one Lady Hinata. We need to keep this hushed up until we are ready to move to trial. I am less concerned about the backlash here, and more with someone assassinating her before we have her crimes publicly come to light. She alluded to as much when she was captured. Currently, she is being held in room within this building, guarded by four thrulls I created earlier today, so they likely have not had time to become double agents. Her mouth is sealed and she cannot move on her own. I want her to not just have normal guards, but have mages specialized in detecting invisible and extra-planar interference.”
After the meeting concluded, the Old Thrull returned to Kamigawa. They had removed the majority of corpses from their sack and deposited them with RAD (Research And Development) for determining where they came from and if it would be safe to return them to their home planes, but the ones of creatures native to Kamigawa, and of the butchered kami themselves, had remained. The Old Thrull felt like he should personally return them to their home plane.
As they laid the bodies to rest in the marshes on the outskirts of Towashi, they muttered a quick prayer for the kami to watch over them and to seek vengeance. He planeswalked away, already plotting his own.

"I am envisioning some sort of trade deal, but the details can be worked out with the liason. If you need emergency supplies before the supply chain is running, say, a situation like with what happened to the unfortunate vampire we helped today, have someone contact me or that Menacari fellow to ship a few canisters over," the Old Thrull said, putting away their tools.
"Seeing as you have not requested my assistance with the defense of the bastion, I will be taking my leave. If something does occur and you need help, please contact me. Good luck in your war and in your relationship, gentlemen. You can keep these canisters, although long-term, we will likely need the ones that blood is shipped en masse in returned, to re-use them after proper sterilization."
Saying this, the Old Thrull began to planeswalk, their flesh writhing as they hovered in midair, wings not even flapping, before they disappeared from the plane of Ixalan.
Sanguine Experimentation
Arturo and Lazaro were received with a measure of relief when they returned to the bastion that was overlooking the Deoro-Sokenzan omenpath. A particularly focused attack from the night prior had left many wounded, and their glorifier had left, leaving only an ill-trained deacon to try and administer aid. Lazaro immediately got to work and Arturo spoke with Damian to get a better understanding of the situation.
His fellow Marshal had lost half his hand in the fighting, though he said he was lucky he hadn't lost the entire thing. He also informed Arturo about the reduction in cosmium allotments for the next few weeks until trading negotiations were smoothed back over. Arturo then told him about a guest that might be able to help with that.
He stepped outside and waved down the small, gliding form above.
"Thrull!" he called. "Down here!"

"I'm glad I told the researchers that no one wanted vanilla-flavored blood," the Old Thrull said, his tone very neutral. Almost overly so
"Regardless, as I said, declining an examination will not affect future production or access. Unless you would like my help with defending the bastion, the terms of which are open to negotiation, I will be taking my leave. Please send word if your leaders agree to this plan, I will begin making preparations and consulting the omenpath atlas for potential trade routes."

"My researchers and I have created the blood that you have been the recipient of. I am glad to see that it has worked. I will send word to my people to begin mass production in the vats, and we will research into a network of omenpaths that we can transport further shipments through, assuming this plan is approved by your superiors. It would also be beneficial to know how long this amount of blood sates you to best optimize production time, transport time, and to know what degree of packaging is needed to safely transport blood so that it can be used effectively in Torrezone," the Old Thrull said, taking a tool from out of his work belt.
"Additionally, I would like to examine your current physiological state to see what about the second sample was more effective than the first. This is optional, and you may decline without it impacting your future access to blood made by the nation of Thrullvia. If you consent, the degree of this examination is also up to you. I can simply do a full-body scan with the help of this scope," the Thrull said, showing off the silver and glass tube they held to the vampires, "or I can do a full-body scan and take a sample of your flesh for further study. The flesh sample would only be used to determine the effects of the blood, and would be destroyed after the results of the examination were recorded. If you have any questions or reservations, feel free to voice them."

The Old Thrull pointed to the canister that Arturo held, which was stamped with the words "Marrow Sample 2A" in a dialect of Sarpadian used only by Thrullvia. "If this works, I will have a team of thrulls learn Torrezone to label the canisters in a language that you read for ease of widespread use. For now, if you could pass me that canister?"
They set down the canister labeled "Husk Sample 3E", and took the other one from Arturo. The Old Thrull pressed a switch on the lid of the canister, causing a tap to emerge.
"Should we attempt to pour it directly into the subject's mouth or into a receptacle for drinking, such as a bowl or cup?"

The something behind Arturo was the Old Thrull, carrying the canister of husk blood in both hands while they flew a few feet off the ground, at roughly eye level with the average vampire he'd seen at the bastion.
"Greetings, I am known as the Old Thrull. I assume that Arturo has explained my purpose here to you. I have two canisters of blood, one from human marrow grown in a matter of hours and the other extracted from a living, breathing, non-sentient human body that was grown in a day's time. Both of the blood sources were grown from flesh extracted from already deceased corpses that I found washed up on shore from a shipwreck. If you have any moral qualms with using such blood, then let me know now and I shall depart with no ill will. If you have any further questions, please ask."

The Old Thrull swooped down from the sky, and the vampires assembled there got a good look at him. His flesh was a sickly tan, and what remained of their veins had a strange translucent fluid flowing in them that made his wrists seem to glisten. What was more surprising was The Old Thrull's eyes. Each of his sunken sockets contained tiny eyes sourced from a variety of different species, clustered together like a spider's eyes. Disconcertingly, not only did the eyes within the two separate sockets move independently, but the eyes within a single socket were clearly analyzing different vampires. His wings were the same color as the rest of his body, and it was obvious from their size that they could not allow both him and the canisters he was holding to ascend together.
"Greetings, I am known as the Old Thrull. I am here as an official representative of Thrullvia, and have brought blood extracted from nonsentient, but living human flesh. It is my hope that this blood will be able to help your people with the famine, and that this can be the start of cooperation between our two nations."
