Lust. If not one of the hardest sins to quit, but why is it like this? Lust has been around since Jesus walked the earth. There are multiple types of different lusts as said in. Romans 1:26-27 (NIV) 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. So how does someone quit one of the hardest sins? You simply shut it all down. Lust is one of the hardest sins not because it's more broadcasted but because as men we are more naturally drawn in by women's chests and their body. Lust does break you very very very slowly. I myself still struggle with lust despite reading the word getting talks from a pastor talking with friends praying about it all these things of effects. Simply. Mean. Nothing. But does it? It does show genuineness of trying to stop despite falling again and again and again. But what's Jesus say? Proverbs 24:16 (NIV) "For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes." So... rise again? What's that mean? Well Jesus is speaking metaphorically. You fall (falling into sin) and the righteous rise again (repent read the word pray). That is what that verse is speaking of. As men I feel like we deeply humble ourselves within lust. We're told that it's normal and genetically normal and it's fine it's not much of a problem. But spiritually, it's horrible. Everywhere I look I see lust. YouTube ads, nsfw content on instagram, one simple thing that gives you that spike and reminds you of that certain something. Lust is EVERYWHERE you don't even have to go looking for it, it's right in front of you. Sometimes. You just have to put the phone down, go outside, take a deep breath. And be. With. God. But always keep moving forward. I love you all. And may god be with you.
