Finally in the mood to play some ts3, got comfy on the couch with the laptop I use to stream games from my desktop, and as soon as I was almost done troubleshooting Reshade which for some reason had completely lost all depth mapping since I last played....a hail storm rolled in and I had to turn off my computers 🙃
#i live in the freaking desert and it is NOT rainy season#our electricity reliability has also been. not so great since we moved in to this area

Hi everyone, I'm still alive. I've had some health issues and I'm waiting on a doctor's appointment. I also had a little personal crisis related to the Sims. While taking a break from building and CAW, I made a household of 3 roommate besties who all had creative jobs and/or hobbies. I made such a cute little shared studio in their basement and after playing with them for a while, I realized it made me feel sad and hollow to watch all their creative work and not do anything tangible myself. So I started knitting a top and doing inventory of my sewing supplies and fabric to get some projects planned, and I'm feeling a little better. I think I need to find a better balance of sitting at my computer all day and actually working with my hands.
Anyway I love and miss you all and I think I will be back at it soon once I get more of this out of my system 🖤

"Sewing": actually about 10% sewing, 90% cutting/pinning/pressing/fitting/planning
"Playing the Sims": actually about 10% gameplay, 90% browsing/downloading/organizing cc, planning for caw, etc etc

I've had Sims with cracked phones in their inventory before but I finally saw the animation of a Sim fumbling their phone and dropping it after all these years...too bad it happened so fast I couldn't capture a clip of it 🥲

I've started laying down the roads for my project that I'm going to call Sim Peaks. When playing in my test world, I realized I was having trouble grasping the scale of the landscape, so my strategy is to work from the middle of the map I've sketched up, and build the landscape around it. I bet some of you can guess what the only in-progress lot is going to be!
I based my (terrible, awful, not suitable for public consumption) map off a combination of published maps of Twin Peaks and satellite/street views of the real places it was filmed. Some locations (the Sheriff's station, RR Diner, and Laura's house, for example) are more important to me to have a very strict canonical appearance, while I'll be filling in the rest with what few details I have and my imagination.
Progress is going to be very slow as my job is mentally draining and I am extremely indecisive with creative projects. I will keep posting updates and once I have something worth testing I will be looking for input! Thank you to everyone who is following me so far and I hope to have a lot or two to download soonish (or at least shortly after my job ends on April 15th 😅)

CAW is so fun and much less intimidating than I thought! I've mostly been playing with different types of roads and even figured out an at-grade railroad crossing on my own. Water planes seem like magic to me but even those aren't so bad once you get into it.
Big thanks to Elmigo and Cawster for the road textures and GiLaNg for the CAW-enabled Twinbrook objects!
