alright, i am the writer of gtms, this story and these characters, bagley and obermann, belong to me. i am the only one who has a seat at my table, who gets a say on what happens to my work. today, some of you will be learning this the hard way.

i am not rehashing the entire series of events that led us here. all you need to know is this is my work that is being desecrated and yeah, i am going to be a little fucking mean about it, because i have taken shit like this for far too long. it’s clear some of you are begging for attention, but be careful what you wish for. fuck around and find out—you poke the bear, you get mauled.

@norathewatcher hi you spineless bitch. you are bringing nothing back. i don’t give a fuck if you’re goddamn michelangelo. you are not “reviving a fandom” you are fucking stealing. there is no fandom, there never was a fandom, this is not a big media like star wars or disney, it was a small passion project by an independent writer posted for funsies. it was treated like big media by a handful of individuals and that is WHY the project stopped, though i have a feeling you know this shit already, don’t you?

but death of the author! you cry in excuse. do i sound fucking dead to you. death of the author is for long dead, problematic authors so we are able to discuss the cultural relevance of their work, not to enable you stealing shit off of tumblr dot com. this is not you “simply filling the vacuum” this is you feeling fucking entitled to the existence of my work and my characters and ultimately, me, for your consumption. you are not owed gtms. it is not a given that this shit needs to exist for you. it is not “content” you “deserve.” like any work shared, it was a privilege to be able to enjoy what i posted of my labor of love, but this is how privileges work: they can be taken away when abused. you are not an artist, you are a spoiled fucking brat with zero dignity or integrity, loyal to nothing but your own greed. fuck off.

i made it explicitly clear in my final post leaving this community that the cause was not a single person or situation but because the community itself is fucking. rancid. the mindset that led to this shitshow is an enormous reason why i left, in addition to the bigotry running rampant—all of which is still alive and well here, though you might think you don’t see it. what you are doing now is having the complete opposite effect of your stated goals. the only thing you have accomplished is digging your own grave, and like a vengeful spirit, i am back to put you in the ground. i am telling you to shut the fuck up, and then i am going back to my happy little life without this fucking circus.

as for the rest of you. i’m sure some of you had no idea what the original situation was, but to those of you who know better and support this garbage anyway, shame on your fucking soul. are you all so fucking hungry for your slop you’ll take it from fucking anybody? eat shit.

I’m reading up on this situation, and it seems pretty bad. Will read more once I get home from classes, but I never expected to see drama like this in this little community.

(Maybe I just haven’t been paying enough attention)

So just a simple Re-blogging for now, I don’t have much to add other than it’s a pretty fucked situation.

This person (Nora) is trying to bring back a series that is not theirs and is against the author’s wishes (it was a very unfortunate situation that happened at the time during the community regarding this series).

As an artist, I would be furious with this disrespect. It’s one thing if it’s fanart, because fanart is accepted and enjoyable. But explicitly “taking” the series because the author isn’t coming back it’s disgusting behavior. And ignoring the responses from me and other polite users (who are fans of the series as you are) are telling you to reconsider this.

I just want the community to be aware of this. This is not right.

Ok. If borrowers had pets would they have the lifespan of an animal in captivity? Or would it still have the lifespan of a wild animal?

Like they don’t have access vet care.. but they definitely are well taken care of still I would think.

Like idk spiders, mice, and beetles and stuff.

Got two more (sorta) scenes of lil Somlet that are done with a new computer that was a refurbished graduation/christmas gift.

I can finally use the pressure sensor for sketching which is literally SO nice. Previously I was using an Acer Chromebook since it was really cheap. But the downside was it had almost no capabilities. Could pretty much only sketch on little programs I sorta had to cheese to get on the computer

Now I have an actual art program! Im learning how to use it and other stuff like that so hopefully I'll improve if I keep practicing

So this is just a scene of Ross handling Somlet when they're still a hatchling. Typically he would be wearing gloves or some sort of hand protection. However since Somlet is so young they haven't grown claws, teeth, or spines.

Ross feels like he can handle the species hatchling without worry of being harmed just yet, but once Somlet's more 'menacing' features come in Ross uses gloves just as he would do with Xewt.

And a second sketch since the goal of the first one WAS to showcase Somlet's emotional distress but it wasn't captured as I wanted it to be so like I tried again. At least in this one Somlet's design is a little more clear. The mouth is weird. I'm still figuring out the anatomy of these arm things on their face.

Yeah as you can guess being held by the leg isn't exactly comfortable nor does it inspire a feeling of security which are two things that are important for hatchlings.

Somlet isn't being hurt but they're definitely in distress.

Ross is trying to get Somlet or 'Dawn' as he calls them to be used to different forms of human contact so that studying the specimen in the future will be more manageable. Also he just thinks it's cute when the alien moves around.

He doesn't really know the extent of the distress he's causing. But even still he doesn't know the little aliens are intelligent yet so I mean he wouldn't really have any moral quarrels about it even if he did know it was causing extreme distress. Not yet anyways.

Early Ross is an ass. Or at least just not very considerate of the aliens feelings and fears.

He's just doin his job

So I've been thinking about Axle's early past a bit.. uhhh

Yeah here are a few doodles and a sketch. Along with a small bit of Axle's early childhood life. I got carried away

Just some simple doodles of Axle's childhood. He technically grew up in a lab although he wasn't born in captivity. Most of his early childhood was doing puzzles or tests, lots of observation as well.

His development is similar to that of a human in terms of brain growth and physical form. He grows at about the same rate as a human just on a far smaller scale.

For the most part in his younger years he mostly did cognitive testing and development. They mostly used simple tests, and some general animal psychology experiments. Such as seeing what he did for fun, for food, and some logical reasoning.

The odd time the scientists still would do a surgery or two on a young Axle, but it wasn't the norm at that time.

However as time went on they began to do more invasive tests.

Axle had always liked the scientists growing up, as he was younger he'd seen them as a sort of family, having favorites and having preferred caretakers. But at the age of about 12 years old even the nicer caretakers had begun to grow sour.

People were being more careful around him, using gloves more often, constricting his movements more often, and other things of the sort which Axle noticed.

The experiments eventually began to get more invasive, such as when he was 13 he had his first brain vivisection specifically. It was a procedure to place wires into his brain to do more invasive tests on his nervous system.

He tried asking more questions, which quickly he learned would get him nowhere. Soon even the nice humans he'd barely see anymore or they would just leave all together. It was at the age of 13 he'd decided he didn't like the humans or how they kept him captured. He didn't know what else there could be, but he knew from the little bits and pieces he was able to listen to that there had to be more than the lab.

At the age of 14 Axle was being treated more like the mice he'd been raised with than a person that the scientists would talk to passively. Axle only grew more resentful as the months went on and the rotation of scientists got more harsh.

At 16 he was being treated as though he was completely feral. He refused to cooperate with the humans but they would refuse to let him feel like he had any form of control over the situation whatsoever.

Ok so this was just a doodle that got out of hand and colored. It's not great but it's the best I got rn. I'm pretty stressed out lol

Anyways. Axle had a pretty traumatic upbringing, but it did teach him to never trust humans which was probably the best thing he could have learned for when he did eventually escape one day.

He did have his mother with him at one point in captivity, but one day she disappeared and he never really figured out what happened to her. Current Day Axle likes to think she managed to escape one day and was free somewhere.

Axle after that day grew up around mice, usually a circulation of mice that were young enough not to be a danger to Axle. But this really took a toll on him when eventually all his mice friends would get taken away and he'd have to get attached to new friends all over again.

Sometimes the scientists would have him do experiments alongside grown mice, sometimes he would remember them but usually not. Under normal circumstances the mice were never aggressive with Axle, but were usually more curious about him.

Ok my unorganized ranting is over. I'm not sure. I think it's fun to share my silly cringe lore.

So while I was away a few weeks before coming back here I made a new story. I was mostly writing details and things like that at first. And then just to try and be creative and get back into drawing I did some sketches. It's sort of based off a lot of things. It's a really ambitious thing that will probably be left behind at some point so I might as well share it now

This is going to be a small creative lore barf I suppose because why not.

So this little guy is Somlet! Somlet is a newly prematurely hatched infant of the Volkin species. Volkins are what they call themselves as a collective at least. "Vol-Kin" meaning children of flower. This is because the species has adapted uniquely to where their community is located to look like the local flora and fauna.

Somlet and their parent Xewt were both captured and taken by humans who are currently conducting tests on the planet to see if it is right for colonizing. (Yes its cliché) Specifically one human who is there to study animal behavior and study the most prioritized species named Ross Williams.

The reason Ross has the two of them is because while running to get to the safety of another colony, Xewt accidentally stumbled upon a human construction site. Unfortunately he had to carry his soon to hatch egg along with him. Even more unfortunate he was eventually caught by the human and taken back for further study.

This is Xewt. Xewt's name has a few meanings in his language. Smaller, Runt. Lucky to be alive. Somewhat associated with a tragic event. Usually his species will have a brilliant pattern on their outer face mandibles, but he was born without them as he was born sick and never grew past the bare minimum adult height.

The spines are sort of akin to a porcupine with the way they feel, they can also flatten or flare up as well which I also took from a porcupine. However they are extremely sharp and can slip under skin at the right angle. But usually they don't do much damage. The nose was supposed to be a lion/goat but flat. And they have large upper fangs to kill prey, since they are hunter/gatherers. Some use tools at this point. But it's usually easier to just kill with claws and jaws.

However tools are enticing because once a spine is broken it grows back extremely slow, and hurts far too much to be worth it. They are full of nerves.

Once at a mature age they will grow a pair of more delicate spines on the bottom of their face. These spines are for mating, and are usually matching but can differ.

Just more Somlet near fingers because I find the idea adorable.

These drawings are going down by the time I drew them by the way. The top was the latest and the bottom was the first official design.

These aren't all the sketches but it's all the ones that aren't just like total color/scribble nonsense

Finally here is what Ross looks like. Nothing special.

The scar is just from a previous interaction with other alien wildlife on a colony a bit before this story. Which makes him pretty cautious and distrustful of any new species no matter how friendly or 'trained' things are.

Speaking of which he is basically trying to train the aliens into being non threatening, which is basically their nature and also their communication. They communicate through a number of different ways, but a big way is body language and spine vibrations, which are both seen as 'threatening' behaviors by commanders.

Ross is sort of a Villain, turned somewhat protagonist.

Also I hate drawing space suits and space stuff it's always too complicated. I know his suit needs a major revamp but I hate drawing space suits

Here were the first doodles once I was finally done designing what Xewt would look like, again I need to redo this too.

So yeah I have a lot written down and a lot to share and this is like none of it but I don't want to yap too long.

So I'm trying to dust off my rendering skills. I always avoid that part because I genuinely forget how much it can improve a drawing.

I wont lie, it feels pretty cringe to post this. But sometimes cringe is exactly what you need.

I'm trying to embrace more ideas as they come my way, and just worry less about judgments. I've always been extremely self conscious and nervous when it comes to posting art and whatever. Just trying to get past it all and be a more confident person. SO that's why I'm posting this.

The drawing is just Cade when he's checking up on the kid (Who I don't think ever got a name) after he got abandoned the night before. Not much to say about it besides that I guess.

I'll keep trying to draw as time goes on, got some sketch ideas so at least some small things might be drawn

So... It's been a little while.

I've been wanting to come back to this account for a while now. But I had a major art block spanning up until a month or two ago. I've just started to be able to draw again in these recent weeks, before I was working on physical sculptures and paintings and that was able to help my creative spirit come back little by little!!

As a little apology for just ghosting this page here are a few little g/t sketches that I've gotten done recently

SO I decided to try and do a redesign, but it ended up sort of just a redraw mostly. Just minor tweaks here and there.

Axle, the little guy I missed him. He looks mostly the same since his original design is actually a redraw of a really really old oc, so I'm still happy with his design for now

Aiden, or at least that's what I've finally settled on calling him and got a few small things changed too. I tried to make him look punk or alt but I am NOT a fashionista and I have no clue how to design fashion so this is the best I got. (Also its something simple enough that I can draw it over and over again)

And finally here's just something I thought would be funny

Yeah so the whole time I was gone I wasn't drawing or practicing or anything... (I'll probably talk about it sometime maybe.) So I'm pretty rusty at art for now but it's a start.

I'm also working on an exciting project but I'm debating whether I want to share any small details as it's a story for a book (Hopefully). We'll see where that ends up though.

Its Axle and the human who found him. Axle was just trying to pass through and maybe get some food on the way, but his plans were derailed when the human came home in the dead hours of the night.

I love him so much. He's sort of a homage to my first ever g/t oc who I will not name because i have a dead account somewhere with all that cringe on it and I will never live that down.

I drew Evan and Ben's first meeting. It didnt go very well for Ben. But Evan was complacently enamored with the existence of the small man.

Going to contunue writing this story soon once I get motivated to write again :)
