We don't have an issue with intersex people who have a complex upbringing and say were brought up as men but were assigned female at birth or some sort of mixture being raised both as a woman and man or whatever complex experience someone went through who also want to identify as transfem because they are socially transitioning away from masculinity.

What I don't get is why you are defining yourself by your AGAB, as AFAB transfems. Because i do agree, being assigned a sex at birth is an event not an identity. That's a talking point at lot of people have repeated at us as if we think AGAB is an identity. Being transfem is socially transitioning away from being raised in manhood to womanhood. Being transmasc is socially transitioning away from being raised in womanhood to manhood. For the "agab doesn't define you" crowd, why are y'all so eager to make you identify about your agab?? It doesn't make sense to us. How are you defending the label of AFAB transfem and also saying that your assigned sex doesn't define you?

Anyway the stuff that originally had us post about this was things like this:

Being degendered isn't an experience unique to transfems. Being degendered and identifying as a woman doesn't make you transfem.

There are plenty of groups of people which are degendered and who are raised as women but don't fit into the standards of cis femininity. women of color and disabled women to name a few off the top of my head. If being degendered makes you transfem then the only cis women in the world would be white, able-bodied, neurotypical, straight, perisex, feminine presenting women. But obviously no one is saying that.

Whether out of malice or not there have been quite a few people who have made a lot of leaps and assumptions about what we think, calling us radfems (I don't think people know what a radfem is), etc.

We don't think being trans feminine/masculine is defined by your sex characteristics. Transfemininity and transmasculinity are defined by moving away from the gender that you were raised. You can absolutely still get gender affirming care if you are intersex, were raised as a woman, identify as a woman, but want to have more feminine characteristics (such as taking hormones). But gender affirming care does not make you transfem, anyone and everyone can receive gender affirming care. If being a trans woman was solely about having male sex characteristics and identifying as a woman than cis women who identified as trans men and underwent medical transition would also be considered transfem by this definition.

What we are denouncing here is the transmisogyny perpetuated by labels like AFAB transfem. We're not saying you couldn't have been assigned female at birth or had F written on your birth certificate when you were born and also be transfem.

However when we said that the label AFAB transfem is transmisogynistic several people came out of the wood work and misrepresented what we said—hell not even misrepresented just made up stuff that we didn't say—and attacked us. The thing is neither of us are surprised, why? Because all of these people who attacked us are known transmisogynist. We're not going to go into detail on that now but we would be more than willing to make a separate post discussing the transmisogyny perpetuated by many of these blogs.

And also to the people calling us radfems, we're both transfeminists, so check again. I mean if you want to get into the details of my views of feminism feel free to ask but calling us radfems is inaccurate.

Oh also transfeminism is a branch of feminism like liberal feminism or Marxist feminism, we're not calling ourselves trans and saying that because we are trans we can't be radfems unlike what someone thought. Which was very telling as to who this group of people is, if you don't even know what transfeminism is you shouldn't be talking about transmisogyny.
