During my diagnosis (as an adult, not a six year old) I was so annoyed that my psych assumed my special interest was art. She never even ASKED anything about them, and basically just went "eh they've brought up this thing they like to do, must be a special interest" - but I promise if you look at the stuff I've drawn over the years. It is Very Apparent what my special interests actually are.
