We need to stop web serial authors from being able to see people's comments during the time the story is being updated it's dire here
#this is somewhat about pale lights like I really love Song and as someone who does have quite bad ocd sometimes it truly is Like That#but it's been a bit funny to see that it was like. more normal at the start and now every chapter she's like I woke up in the morning#carefully. then I went down the stairs. counting precisely. I made breakfast in a very ordered manner. my group members went downstairs and#I noticed their badge was unaligned so I immediately told them to fix it.#but like I really do not think it was like this in book 1 and earlier in book 2. like I could be misremembering but it would be the sort of#thing I'd notice and I think in book 1 it was more implied or unintentional. and it's the sort of thing that could make sense as an#intentional choice to make it more overt if it was something about her being more stressed at the moment so symptoms got worse or whatever#but at the moment it's really looking like the extremely common web serial situation where like. author writes a character that has a#pedantic and careful temprament or whatever -> readers with ocd comment and are like wow that character's portrayal is relatable maybe they#are implied to have ocd -> author is like wow since people are saying this is must make it obvious that that's what's happening -> you end#up with 'I woke up in the morning and obsessed about things. then I walked down the stairs (compulsively)#(obviously not saying that the specific example is the frequent thing more so the characters changing to fit a stereotype or to make#something that worked as an analogy actually literal after reader comments)#and it just ends up sounding kind of silly and sort of missing why the portrayal was interesting in the first place. hashtag whatever.#she's definitely still my favourite of the protagonists it's just like...

To be clear I am not exaggerating about the new rock boots this is from the concept art

#people saying he would be into classical music when that's literally exactly the opposite of his whole thing because oh how astonishing...#someone who lives in 1910 wears 1910s fashion 😱. he was literally born to get into industrial music subgenre arguments on reddit but okay.#pathologic#daniil dankovsky

spending 45 minutes scrolling through posts when I really do not have the time for that and need to do something else immediately and finally seeing a post saying a character who DEFINITELY has the pretentious gothindustrial listeners temperament would be listening to something else and I get so angry and scared I have to close the computer and reorganise my stupid hiking pack

Doing serious scientific illustration is so funny... I want to draw the character having the worst time ever but alas I have a beetle due soon

I think you'll find that's 'completely disagreeing with what I'm saying in the post' actually, not 'being on the fence', which is fine but perhaps you could make your own post about it instead
Tbh I find those steam reviews/certain youtuber's comments etc. that go on about 'ACTUALLY pathologic is NOT FUN that's the point' kind of silly and it's a bit annoying it seems to have become a widely accepted thing - I found it really fun actually! Maybe if you hate the mechanics and everything of a game that's actually a thing about your computer game preferences not like, some inherent truth about the game

#eternal tumblr experience that whenever you get more than 30 notes in a post you get someone saying 'so true op! I totally agree that (exact#opposite of what you said)

Do I spend 5000 years on fanart when I have like no free time for the next 2 months just in order to hopefully make people listen to this one song that I think does fit that is getting very little traction on my goth music sideblog. perhaps

Replaying classic HD because you know how it is and the way Daniil's always going 'alas now Simon is dead I will never finish this project I guess my entire career is ended so I should just kill myself (he is 27)' wow so real you would have thrived on 2020s academic twitter
#I mean I don't think anyone is truly 'thriving' there perhaps it would be more accurate to say that's his ecological niche#pathologic
