now normally i have no particularly strong opinions on who exactly tops and who bottoms in any given ship. while i understand using those positions as shorthand for certain traits or dynamics may be sometimes be useful to convey your own characterization of them, i generally find it to be extremely reductive and tropey (this is because it is a genre convention from bl, which tends to be both of those things). applying tropes from a different genre onto a story changes it a lot, frequently leading to characters being squashed into boxes they were not made for. it's just not something i generally have fun doing. that said. if you think joonghyuk is a top at all you WILL die and go to hell a million times.

underrated part of the power fantasy of the epilogue is the idea that you can find the perfect way to communicate your love and care for someone. sometimes it can feel like an uphill battle. sometimes it can feel like no matter how much you love someone the version of you they have in their heads will always hate them, and you'll never be able to show them how deeply that isn't true. but orv says hey what if you could give that person a love letter from everyone they've ever met and what if it finally got through to them. what if just this one time you could convey your love properly.......

honestly. if i was yoo joonghyuk and there was a man who, through the sheer love he had for my story, which overflowed into every part of both of our lives, taught me how to rebuild my connections with my loved ones and start living again. and then he killed himself in front of me. and then i found out he was alive but might be in trouble so i traveled to the demon realm and defeated a demon duke in his name, saving his life. and then i got to reunite with him finally and he was like 'ahh, you dastardly bastard you, doing all of this so you can kill me by your own hand'. well lets just say horses wouldnt be called horses anymore
