Daily Prompt - Was Today Typical
Daily writing promptWas today typical?View all responses Today was a typical day of getting up, preparing lunch, eating breakfast and going to work then coming home. All these things are personally typical, but life is typically chaotic in a broader, global sense. Some things you can control like yourself, while other stuff, not so much. You do the best you can to make the world a better place.…

Daily Prompt - Scroll
Scroll The word of the day is scroll. A scroll can refer to a roll of paper, parchment, or other material, especially one with writing on it. We don’t see many scrolls these days. However, it’s most referred to the action of advancing content up or down on a screen. It seems like we all do a lot of scrolling on our devices screens. Sometimes it’s to find something important. Other times it’s…

Sunday Reflection - Helping Our Friends and Neighbors
There are so many people in need right now. With budget cuts to many social services and food banks, there are empty shelves and empty pockets these days. You would be surprised who you find in a food bank. Regardless, those are people who are our neighbors. Sometimes our friends have to seek help when things get tough. I believe that God wants all of us and especially those who follow him to…

The Week Since Hangman Adam Page Became Champion at AEW ALL IN: Texas
It has been one week since All Elite Wrestling held its grandest event of the year, ALL IN. Hangman Adam Page beat Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match to capture the richest prize in the sport, the AEW Men’s World Championship. It was a bloody and violent match that no one will forget for a long time. Indeed, it has been the week for our champion, Adam. Other historic matches happened, such as…

No Bringing Back Dinosaurs, Not Even One!
Daily writing promptIf you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?View all responses All it took was one Jurassic Park movie to make me realize that no dinosaurs should ever be brought back. Not even the “cute” ones because that is a slippery slope that we should never slide down. They are best studied from the safety of paleontology and science books. Dinosaurs should remain…

Trouble On The Air Waves In America
Yesterday, congress in the USA voted to defund Public Media in America. That means that PBS and NPR, which made up a small part of the total budget, will not receive aid from the government and that will impact Public TV and Radio stations from coast to coast. This is a problem because many of those stations provide an essential informational and instructional service to communities where there…

Something About Cuts To Public Media
I’ve said it before that cutting funding to NPR and PBS is a horrible thing. They are worth every penny in making our communities better, more informed, and connected. My local public media stations WTCI-PBS and WUTC-NPR in Chattanooga, Tennessee are vital to creating a culture where everyone can learn and grow. Without public media America is certainly not great. For more information visit…

Wednesday Wisdom
A president who does not obey the law is not and should not be a president. The same goes for legislators and other people in leadership. The law does a lot to keep things together and to create an order in society. For fairness and justice, laws must be changed and amended. Right now, the law is needed now more than ever to prevent chaos and anarchy.

Rewatching Battlestar Galactica (2004 Series)
Tonight, we have begun a re-watch of Battlestar Galactica from 2024 that was produced by Ronald D. Moore. This update of the late-1970s program takes a decidedly darker tone as what’s left of humankind struggles for survival against the robot Cylons, who have killed millions. The Galactica, led by William Adama, protects a patched-together fleet of civilians – led by de facto president Laura…

Daily Prompt – Word Of The Day: Enthusiast
Enthusiast Everyone is enthusiastic about something. So with that being said, that makes them an enthusiast. We all have things that make our lives better and fun. For me, it’s several things, like church, blogging, geek life, nerd stuff, and more. I am also a Canadphile where I like all things about True North. I think it’s great to have things in life you can share with others, and that can…
