Deltarune: Absolute Prophecy Theory
In other words there's no actual way to deviate from the prophecy in deltarune, just like how the game only has one ending the prophecy will end in only one way. However, that doesn't mean that our choices don't matter, simply they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. But the details absolutely do matter.
So take Tenna for instance, prophecy says he gets cleaved red by the blade" all the prophecy said was that he gets cut in half, not that he dies. But depending on whether or not you've been recruiting darkeners determines whether he's able to be repaired. So that choice is important. Just not in the grander scheme.
Think of it as a sort of meta-narrative approach. You are not free to do everything you want in a video game, you can only do what exists within the scope of the game and that's the same with the prophecy in deltarune.
So what does this mean in terms of the snowgrave/weird route. Well depending on how you interpret the prophecy, it can be very much in-line with it. In truth neither the normal route or the weird route perfectly align with the prophecy (as we've seen so far). A lot of this hinges on whether or not Susie is supposed to be apart of the prophecy. I think the prophecy is lot more flexible than we tend to think. Susie can be the monster hero in the prophecy or the "last girl"
I.e its flexible and can be interpreted differently and i think that's sort of the point.
So why even do the weird route in the first place if a different ending isn't going to happen? Well I think what the weird route does is something a little bit more sinister imo. Lets be honest the real main character of deltarune isn't the player or Kris like it was in Undertale with Frisk, its Susie. We don't get the big character defining speeches like in undertale. Its not us changing the villains minds or getting the last word in. We're literally a side character just going through the motions.  We the player don't have nearly the same amount of influence in deltarune as we did in undertale. We don't decide who lives and dies, that is  until the snowgrave route.
The weird route is the player's attempt to refocus the narrative back onto us. To make the game more like undertale where our choices are the only ones which truly matter, not anyone else's.  I think the weird route is, a  meta-response to people approaching deltarune like its undertale.
After all undertale is suppose to be played before deltarune and unless you're specifically looking for the "genocide" route in the game  (hence requiring you play undertale first ) you wouldn't have found snowgrave.
In other-words I think the weird route will end the same way as the normal route, the difference however will be if we end it as an ally or a villain to be defeated by the true hero of the story.

Bet you Lyle has already made a sam religion. A very normal reaction to have.
Totally has a Sam shrine hiding in his place.

Sam may be a cosmic horror but that doesn't mean he doesn't have stalkers! Found a fucked up cat in his room and it kept taking his stuff when he wasn't looking.
Spine's still infatuated with Sam but it's too shy of his incorporeal body to interact with him directly so it's just been rummaging through his things, stealing his stuff and generally being a menace.

Considering that Sam own self perception is just fundamentally different, one mind spread across two bodies, its an incredibly weird sensation when walking into places where space-time is distorted so abruptly. It feels like he's de-syncing with his own body. Responding late to things, and general unawareness of which form is where and interacting with what. Like a weird version of sleep paralysis. The dark apartment would not be comfortable at all, and it might also be where his spectral form is just a little more tangible than it normally is.
Also i really like the idea that Sam's save ability is significantly weaker version of what his parent can do. For Sam its basically video game rules. He does have a limit to this ability, its not a substantial one but he can only hold to a few different spots (save slots?) in time and he can't hold on to anything that's too far back in the past as doing too many can get confusing and is generally exhausting. So he has to be careful when and where he "saves"

Yeeeessss soooo much of this! Why you hiding this in the tags!
The whole thing with the visitors must feel so cathartic for him while at the same time its own special form of guilt induced dread. Because its really the first time he can be open and honest with what he actually is. It's exciting, he has friends they're not entirely human but that what's he shares in common with them, and just a small part of him feels thankful that the world has changed but at the same time he feels terrible about it too. Like he shouldn't be this excited about the end of the world.

Oh hell yeah of this! 100%
I can imagine Sam going, well everyone knows so might as well use my abilities to help and while it helps there's just an unnerving quality to it. Its way too efficient / effective. It happens way too quickly. There's moments where I'd imagine some of his companions are silently thankful that their not his enemy. (Which probably doesn't help his general feeling of isolation towards people)
You know i wrote my initial save/reload ability as a joke (I committing to it lmao) but that alone is already a terrifying concept especially if you take it literally

more never human au ideas because it lives in my brain rent free now
After the initial shock of finding out he isn't human, most people think Sam is some sort of cursed that got extremely lucky. (no visible mutations) Only a few of his companions suspect there is more to him than that.
Lyle: Was stalking Sam for months before the visitors arrival. Snapped a photo of him when he wasn't looking and Sam's other form appeared partially in the developed photo. He knows Sam is some sort of cryptid and is like, ah yes good monster boyfriend.
Leigh: Knew something was up since day one. She's got a few extra senses and also being a reality warping monster herself sussed out a few things. Really wants to challenge Sam to a rematch and wants to see what his "true form" is like in action. (Sophie also kinda wants to see it too because giant monster fight would be awesome). Sam doesn't entertain the idea in the slightest because:
1. The logistics of how that would work being largely incorporeal and all
2. He'd win, (it'd be a very one-sided battle, but he'd never openly admit this.)
Papineau: Also figures this out, Sam isn't sure how but the janitor also figures out the truth very early on. He's also the one who sorta gets Sam to be truthful about what he is. Papinaeu has a ability to detect" chaos" in all its natural forms which Sam just so happens to sorta be. He isn't nearly as trusting of him in this AU.
Shadow: knows as well, but its inability to speak and general indifference to Sam not being human is never really a problem that comes up. It can also see his other form. Sam found it initially unnerving since it never looks at his face when hes talking to it, but instead above his head and behind him at his other body.

Pov, your mild mannered neighbor isn't human
Still on my Look Outside hyperfixation, neverhuman AU, basically Sam is not human and never was (his parent is some weird cosmic horror). He technically has two bodies a human physical one and an inhuman incorporeal one that isn't visible except under special circumstances. Unfortunately the entire world is in "special circumstances" since the visitor arrived. With time and space all messed up, every once in a while his other body is visible. Sam is rarely aware of when this happens and it scares the crap out of people when it does.

crack fic ideas because its midnight and i can't write anything that's serious only funny.
neverHuman AU, in which sam was never human to begin with. Well half human technically, his father/mother/progenitor (what ever shenanigan you prefer) is Hastur, the unspeakable another cosmic horror entity with reality warping abilities from another dimension. Sam's ability to "save" has got to come from somewhere right?.

My personal head cannon that is backed up with no evidence what so ever but I personally think would be a funny crossover. Hylics and Look Outside.
What if the world of Hylics is the result of the visitors attempt to "fix things"

This kind reminds me of the whole panda bear ordeal. Yeah, i like panda bears, their cute i want them to be around, but often times a keystone species of an ecosystem the ones which actually keep it stable aren't always as pleasing to public and I'd wish as a society we could put that amount of passion to conserving those animals too. So I'm not surprised that these sensational projects are getting this degree of funding. I just hope it doesn't lead to even more extreme GMO exotic pets (which tbh feels like the direction were heading)
maybe i'm really misunderstanding it, but the whole colossal biosciences thing has me thinking. and not about the "dire wolves", those have been discussed extensively by people smarter than me, but about that supposed thylacine revival from the same company.
regardless of the possibility of genetically modifying any other dasyurid to look like a thylacine, can the behaviors of a thylacine be edited into it? can they guarantee that it will fulfill the niche it left behind? or is it just going to be a weird new creature that would end up causing more harm than good?
obviously if they make new "thylacines", they will be raised in captivity like their "dire wolves". and that's a good thing, of course, because just making them and releasing them into the wild would be a domestic cat situation. a creature that isn't supposed to be there, doing things it shouldn't be doing. true thylacines are gone, anything after it is just some manmade recreation, which will have the flaws of what we think a thylacine is or was or did. idk. it just seems like a bad idea to me.
i can hold out hope for colossal choosing to use any funding for conservation or restoration efforts, but i haven't found solid evidence that they have used the money they get for anything other than their strange sensationalized projects. as someone on Reddit pointed out, their projects seem like they will only lead to another an Osborne Reef scenario, where the introduction of a manmade reef in an attempt to restore the environment only destroyed it further.
we are on the brink of losing the vaquita forever. there are only around 10 left. colossal, and their investors, could be helping efforts to save them, but are instead GMO-ing wolves to look like what game of thrones thought dire wolves were. like come on.
