We just went from tight funds to WTF. My husband was just fired for no reason other than one of the owners being best friends with a woman who works in the kitchen and has zero qualifications. The kitchen has health hazards through the damn roof every shift she works, and husband has had to explain this to the owner. They didn't like this, nor the improvements to the kitchen because they don't like change.

He's applying for new jobs now, and won't be applying for unemployment because they always say no. Applying for unemployment in Oregon is extremely difficult.

In the meantime, I need y'all to purchase my work or commission me. I'm Disabled and on fixed income, husband is the only one who can work.

How long have you been on Tumblr?

I’m sure there’s a way to definitively check, but I want to say 2012 - this account moreso 2013-2014 is when I started it and used it most actively through 2017 ish. Various jobs and health has just kept it at arms length since, plus the major shift in content change/rules and people leaving.

I've been seeing many cool moths.

Recently? No not really. I only managed this picture of a monarch caterpillar and a different butterfly (I think it is from the antennas at least) last month. But I have been painting a lot!

Thank you for asking! Honestly I’m in a lot of pain right now - but I feel like overall things have been good!

Just busy with prepping for art shows and then trying to make it through travel and 10+ hour show days, which is draining. I’m very lucky that after we moved out of our last hellhole apartment, that my health improved almost overnight and my husband finally completed his 5 year apprenticeship and is making Journeyman wages and can mostly support us. I’ve finally been able to socialize a little bit and tolerate 1-3 mile walks. But we are thinking (my medical team) that my biggest problem right now is probably MCAS + mild POTS and hypermobility.

I’m just very grateful that when we left that apartment and my catering job that opportunity and outlook for me has really improved!

Sometimes you just have to rip the bandaid off of toxic attachments, ya know?
