something i think is great about agents of shield is that coulson is like "tahiti was supposed to revive a dead avenger!" and fury is like "it did" and then over the next several seasons coulson and co. proceed to prove themselves to be just as valuable as the avengers vis a vis stopping apocalyptic events. its so funny. especially the fact that the reason we didn't get the avengers cleaning up after hydra was, on a meta level, because the main MCU writers shat the bed after TWS, but in-universe it's because they didn't have to because phil coulson is the only one in this damn group project doing the work. surprised he didn't find bucky before steve did but i guess he was too busy dealing with aliens

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.
like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been

I like to think that even though people don’t know that Matt is Daredevil, there’s still a general consensus among anyone who knows him, (and a fair few people who just recognise him from when he put Fisk in prison those two times and from Frank’s trial,) that he HATES Fisk. New York found out Fisk was Mayor and the first thought was; “Damn, if Daredevil was still around, he’d probably go insane.” And then it’s “Shit, someone should go remind that lawyer that murder is illegal.”

Coulson: hey, long time no see
Avengers: You're alive? Where have you been?
Coulson: oh you know, here and there. You've been busy.
Avengers: we've fought countless aliens, sentient robots and evil AI's, time traveled, visited different times lines and universes, dealt with enhanced people and supernatural cursed objects, went to outer space and saw many different planets and saved earth a few times. You can't even imagine.
Coulson: fucking try me.

dude it’s so cool that the literal main character from agents of shield just doesn’t know her name for so long. like i know who she will eventually be, because i see her as Daisy everywhere on the internet, but I don’t know how we get there.
and like somehow this works so well?? because she is Skye first and foremost, and her story is already incredible before we know literally anything about where she came from. she is smart and good with computers and social and empathetic and interesting FIRST, and a girl who doesn’t know where she originally came from AFTER. we literally don’t learn anything substantial about her backstory until season 2 and that’s so cool and wild because she’s already so interesting and fleshed out as a character without it.

My favorite thing so far about agents of shield is that every time grant ward shows up I say "God when is someone gonna kill this dude" and then the next scene is the protagonists all going "God when can we kill this dude" and the solidarity I feel with these fictional characters is real

Sometimes, I can't believe Daisy x Sousa is a ship that exists and is canon. It's just SO beautiful, that we have a relationship that is explicitly just "I cherish her in all her fierceness, if she's committed to protecting everyone else, then I will help her and protect her at the same time. I will be her shield" and "I trust him to carry my passion with me, and for me when I'm too tired. I trust him to keep watch when I rest. I trust him enough to let him catch me when I fall."
And I just??? Sob???
