Anon, your ask was received. I’m not going to publish it because don’t feel like there’s a lot that I can add to the dialogue surrounding the issue at this point. I set the boundaries on this blog as clearly as I could in saying that I didn’t want there to be call-out posts related to it, because it wasn’t the way I was interested in running the event.
I tangibly understand the fears of being trans, because I AM TRANS. I empathize so deeply that it hurts.
But I also feel like I voiced my boundaries clearly enough that I don’t think it’s productive for anyone if I continue to engage with this, because ultimately I’m not able to control what people say and do, and even if I did have that power I wouldn’t want it.
It’s not an exciting solution, and it might feel lukewarm for some people, but choosing not to engage with things I find triggering (which is not a word I use lightly) has been really really good for my mental health, and it’s probably the best advice I have for ANYONE right now.
The other best advice that I have, which I’m going to say over and over and over again until everybody gets sick of it, is to protect trans women, especially trans women of color. If you can donate monetarily, that’s awesome. Also, I’m happy to write short ficlets, make art, create moodboards, or gift bootlegs to people who make donations and send me receipts.
Not necessarily the point of the post, but hey. I thought I would throw it in there for anyone who sees this.

Thanks so much for making this list! I’ll definitely be checking these out, as I hadn’t heard of all of them! If anyone else has any recs, feel free to boost!
POTO Rec List: Trans Phantom Week Edition!
I really wanted to participate in @transphantomweek by writing a ficlet. However, I did come to the realization that, as a cis (bi) person, I may not be able to do the story justice (with the sensitivity, nuance, and depth it deserves).
So, instead, I’d rather uplift and boost the wonderful trans stories that already exist in the community. Here are just some of the underrated gems I’ve uncovered on AO3:
Childhood Friends by pixiyella - R/C - This is a very sweet and pure modern AU story about Raoul who finds his childhood friend Christine again as an adult, but he isn’t sure how to re-introduce himself to her. It’s got a lovely, uplifting ending and a lot of very endearing character interactions <3
post op by hyacinthis - R/C - Ever wanted a soft, fluffy story about Christine taking care of her husband after his surgery? This is the perfect one-shot for you. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I read this. It’s too good for this world, too pure.
Reflection by 57821 - Gen - A beautifully written ficlet starring trans!Christine and trans!Erik bonding over hair, stories, and memories <3
and I guess that’s why they call it the blues by Reichenbachstag - R/C - I have a soft spot for fics that explore Raoul and Christine’s childhood. This lovely story is one of them, and it was a delight to see the world through Raoul’s POV and how he views the world and his relationship with Christine.
The Last of Something Bright Burning, Still Burning by @jeremystollemyheart - R/C - I was trying to avoid including fics that were already boosted in the Trans Phantom Week event, but I just adore this story too much to leave it out. It’s so beautifully written and affecting. And it made me nostalgic for the simplicity of childhood.
…
Well, those are my recs. Please feel free to add your own favorite Trans POTO stories. Have a great week, y’all!

These are incredibly cool, thank you so much for making them! I love how inclusive these are! I also love the pictures you chose!
My entry for @transphantomweek! I may or may not have been late for Trans Phantom Week but... Anyways... I made icons of the trio with the updated Trans Pride flags. The pink, white and blue one is still valid tho but since times are changing and with the rise of hate crimes against minority races... I decided to go for a more inclusive flag.
Anyways, everyone is valid regardless or pronouns, race, religion or sexuality. I hope y'all are taking care of yourself!
Feel free to use these with credit!
Stay safe, drink water, wear a mask, and if you live in the US, VOTE!

Trans Phantom Week by the Numbers
Hello!
Since Trans Phantom of the Opera Appreciation Week ended last night, I thought I would take the time to do a little run down of the week! Just a note: a couple of people posted things early this morning. For the sake of having a specific cut-off, they won’t be included in these numbers, however I will be reblogging them today! And as always, you can feel free to keep posting stuff and I will happily reblog it! Also, if you create something you would like reblogged, please make sure you @ this blog, so I can make sure it gets done! I try to check tags, but they tend to be a little unreliable. Total Number of Artworks: Six!
Total Number of Fanfictions: Ten!
Total Number of Edits: One!
Character with the highest number of trans headcanons: Raoul! Followed very closely by Erik!
Overall, I feel like this week went really well! This is the first fandom (and Phandom) event I have ever run, and I’m so happy with how many people got excited and involved in this project! Whether you were a creator or you boosted people’s works, I have so much appreciation for you and all you’ve done. This truly could not have happened without you!
Moving forward, I want to know people’s opinions! Did the structure of this event work? Do you want to see future trans themed events? Let me know!
Later I’ll post links to each tag in the master post so all creations are easily accessible!
Thanks again! Lots of love to y’all! 💜

One last little fic from me 💜 I hope everyone enjoys!
Still, You Said “Be Yourself and You’ll Turn Out Alright”
I wasn’t planning on making anything else for @transphantomweek, but I changed my mind last minute and wrote this little follow-up to an earlier fic. This is a direct sequel to “We Could Just Kiss Like Real People Do.”
Also featuring background Trans!Meg, because I think we all deserve Trans!Meg.
Thank you so much to everyone involved in this week. I hope you enjoy this little wrap-up fic.
The dress is finished.
It’s late. Erik, normally the night owl of the group, has fallen asleep on the couch. They have not taken off the dress since Christine presented them with it this morning.
“Should we wake them up?” Christine ponders aloud, watching them with the ghost of a fond smile on her lips. In the background, the TV plays softly, the blue-tinged light casting flickering shadows on the contours of Erik’s face.
They aren’t wearing their mask. They haven’t been for hours. And that…it means something. Breaking down Erik’s walls has been an ongoing struggle, and the mask is a tangible symbol of their comfort, or more often their lack thereof.
Christine and Raoul have never once demanded that Erik remove their mask. Seeing them do it of their own accord now is a gift.
Raoul considers the question, and then shrugs and takes a seat on the end of the couch. In spite of their height, Erik doesn’t take up much space. They curl up small, leaving plenty of room for their partners.
“I suggest joining them.”
Christine nods her acquiescence and takes a seat beside Raoul, taking up the space between him and Erik, who does not stir.
“You did great on the dress,” Raoul says, “It fits them perfectly,” he rolls his shoulders, stretching. Christine laughs, self-deprecating.
“I got some practice altering dresses when Meg first started transitioning. She’s perfectly graceful on stage, but kind of a hopeless seamstress. One of them was actually my Costume Construction final. Which I got a B on. Don’t look at the seams on this one though, they’re a little rough,” she reaches up and begins to absent-mindedly knead her thumb into the tired muscles in Raoul’s shoulders. He’s just removed his binder for the day and he relaxes under her touch.
“Erik loves it,” he enthuses, “And it’s nice to see them so happy and relaxed.”
“That’s the best part,” Christine agrees.
They sit in silence for a while after that, watching TV with the sound turned down to soft mumbles and the subtitles on. The gentle, rhythmic sound of Erik’s breathing is making Raoul drowsy.
“I love you both,” he says, while he is still awake enough to form sentences. Christine, already further gone than him, responds with a sleepy nod that says everything he needs to know.
Erik, still asleep, doesn’t say anything. They don’t have to.
As the TV station rolls over from regular programming to late night infomercials, Raoul dozes off, completely at peace.

Day 6 from me! I wanted to mix it up a little! 💜

And now for something totally different...
I wanted to do something a little silly and fun for the last day of @transphantomweek, and I feel like this fits the bill. I’m not the best at photoshop, but this made me smile so I hope it makes others smile too.
Feel free to use for whatever reason, although I would love a reblog if you do (or if this post made you smile).
[Image IDs: A collection of eight photos from The Phantom of the Opera. The images are a photo of Erik standing behind the organ from the stage production, a photo of Christine on the gondola from the stage production, a photo of Raoul holding a rose from the stage production, a photo of Meg in her white ballerina costume from the stage production, a photo of Madame Giry standing with her cane from the stage production, a photo of Carlotta singing and holding a fake head during Hannibal rehearsal from the stage production, a photo of Piangi during Hannibal rehearsal from the stage production, and a photo of Andre and Firmin walking together from the 2004 movie. Beside each character there is a white speech bubble with a black outline, and inside each speech bubble are the words “TRANS RIGHTS!!!” in blue, with a pink outline. End ID.]

This is so gorgeous! The pressed flowers are the perfect touch, it gives the pieces such a dreamy feel.
Also your art is so good and tender! I adore this 😭

Some pieces for @transphantomweek I finally got to draw (had a rather busy week)!!
This is sorta a mix of prompts for day 3 & 4, ‘Tender’ and ‘Late Night Conversation’ of Christine comforting Raoul. I don’t have much backstory to these pieces, but drawing them brought me a lot of comfort <3 trans Raoul in general has a rather HUGE soft spot in my heart and I’m rlly happy I got to draw something for this event! I also added in some of my pressed flowers for an added effect as well. Being non-binary myself, I was super excited about this event especially just having jumped into the fandom recently!! It’s been so fun seeing people’s pieces like EVERYONE IS SO GOOD AAA I’m just rlly happy this event exists!!

Rock star AU? Crossover with Elisabeth?? I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this before, this is incredible! I Absolutely cannot wait to check this out!! Thanks so much for sharing, and thank you for joining in this week! You’re so welcome here! 💜
For Trans Phantom Week!
Bonus: Because who better than to help you wear your first dress than your genderfluid partner.
I only found out about it today and while it might be over in my time-zone, it’s still going in some! Thank you to @geickogarbage for letting me know about this.
For those that aren’t familiar with my Erik, I have a comic I’m working called Death and the Phantom, but also have a modern au for those characters were Erik is a visual kei rock star (and may be in a band with @geickogarbage‘s punk Erik). So for context, this is modern au visual kei Erik with a crossover of Death from Elisabeth das Musical.
Inspired by @jeremystollemyheart‘s fanfic which I read this morning and got all emotional over. I’d been thinking of making modern au Erik genderfluid, but as I myself am genderfluid I was worried that one, people who think I was shoving myself onto him, and two, that some trans people aren’t okay with genderfluid people and I’m so new to this fandom I got really nervous. But @transphantomweek is so inclusive and they were really sweet to me about calming my nerves.

Catching up! Here’s my contribution for Friday 💜

I finally decided to do something that is, for me, pretty vulnerable: I got around to making some art for @transphantomweek
Trans Raoul has been living in my head rent free this week, so I decided to draw him in his binder.
I’m always very nervous about posting any of my art, so I really hope everyone enjoys it!
I’ve got one more thing to post and then I’ll be caught up AND have made something for every day this week!
[Image ID: Full body line art in pencil with some marker and pen coloring details. Art is of a white trans man with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a blonde mustache. He is wearing jeans and an open purple button up shirt with green and orange polka dots on it. Under his shirt, his binder is visible. He is standing and holding a small trans pride flag in his left hand. The background is abstract scribbles in the colors of the trans pride flag. End ID.]

Just a reminder that this is the last official day of Trans Phantom Week!
If you don’t make it to submit today, feel free to tag this blog later on and I’ll make sure your work is reblogged!
Also, please let me know if you want to see this become an annual event, and/or if you would like to see smaller-scale events interspersed throughout the year.
Thanks so much to everyone who participated, reblogged, sent their support...ANYTHING!
I’ll do an official round up post tomorrow!

I've yet to participate since work is kicking me in the knees, but I wanted to know if this is a possible monthly, bi monthly, or yearly thing? (I'm asking because I'm awful at participating in any timed event)
Hi! It probably won’t be monthly because I think it would burn me out, but I would like for it to be yearly or maybe twice a year! Or that there might be smaller scale events interspersed? Something like that. I’ll know a bit more once I can kind of do my own personal post-mortem at the end of the week, but if it becomes a consistent event I’ll definitely make a post about it!
Also if you decide you want to make content later, feel free of tag me anyways and I’ll still reblog it! And thanks so much for your interest!

Day.....technically four 💜
We Could Just Kiss Like Real People Do
It’s a day late, but @transphantomweek Day 4!
Prompt: Safety Pin Did y’all really think I wasn’t gonna sneak Erik/Christine/Raoul in here somewhere? Wrong. Every piece I have written so far has been personal to me in some way, but this one especially so. Some of the most precious gender-affirming clothes I have ever owned have been gifts given to me by friends, out of their own closets. Also, as a side note, I generally headcanon that Erik is non-binary but fine with he/him OR they/them pronouns. BUT I wanted to explore other options for this fic, and I’m happy with the results.
Raoul raps his knuckles against the door frame and leans his head in.
“Hey, how’s it going in here?”
Christine barely looks up, just says, “Raoul! Grab me those safety pins over by the machine, if you don’t mind.”
She says it around the two that she’s already holding in her mouth. It’s either a credit to her diction or to his attentive listening that he doesn’t hesitate for even a second, just obeys the request. She keeps the safety pins all strung together in a chain. He picks up one and the rest follow.
“Thank you,” she says a little absent-mindedly when he drapes them over her shoulder for easy access.
She’s working on the fiddly task of making sure she’s marking the seam correctly, keeping the pins she’s already used in a careful line. Her model fidgets under her hands. This is not the first time.
“Erik,” she keeps her voice purposefully light and calm, because they are anxious and flighty under the best of circumstances, and this is all new to them, “I need you to be as still as possible.”
On some level, asking Erik to be still is like politely asking time to stop marching forward. It’s an impossibility. But they listen to her request, fixing their posture and confining their movements to twitches of their long, slender fingers.
“It isn’t going to fit,” they voice their frustration in a quavering tone. It’s unusual for Erik to have anything but complete control over their voice. The vulnerability Christine recognizes here is the same vulnerability she heard only a few days before when they began spilling out frantic and half-jumbled words to her and Raoul about being incorrectly man, about being non-woman, about the comfortable nothing that existed in between those two labels.
There had been hugs after that, and then tender kisses shared between the three of them, and then Christine, at a loss for how to properly celebrate, had started baking a pie at ten til midnight.
They ate it together, still too hot, burning their tongues, in the early hours of the morning.
The next day dawned with new pronouns and new labels, but the same comfortable, lived in name that they had chosen years ago.
“It’s going to fit,” Christine reassures them. It’s a promise she can make because she is going to make it fit by sheer force of will if she has to.
Erik chose this dress from her closet with care and reverence. She’s not going to let them feel like they are playing dress up in their new clothes.
“Nothing fits off the rack,” she continues breezily. By this time she has used the safety pins she held in her mouth so she can talk freely, “everything is tailored, but no one tells you that.”
She is not a tailor. The handful of costuming classes she had been forced into in order to fulfill a theatre degree aside, she’s barely a seamstress. But she does own a sewing machine and this is something she’s committed to.
Raoul, who is good at sewing on buttons but not much beyond that, helps by managing the safety pin chain.
By the time Christine is satisfied, there are pins everywhere. Buying a whole new dress would be easier, but less meaningful.
“Okay, take a look,” she spins Erik in the direction of the full length mirror, in her closet, and for once they do not protest, do not flinch away from seeing themself.
Their eyes light up, even behind the mask.
They practice letting the full skirt flow with their movement. Christine claps her hands, and Raoul whistles, low and appreciative and enamored. It’s better than words. Erik still shies away from traditional descriptions of beauty when someone offers them, but this is enough. It’s all it takes for them to devolve into hugs and soft kisses again, and for Erik to melt into the comfort of Christine and Raoul’s embraces.
And if it’s hard to hold someone who is decked from head to toe in safety pins? Well, no one seems to mind much.

My smile is so big right now, this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it!
I LOVE how much Raoul and Philippe content has been generated this week!
My belated entry for Day 3 of @transphantomweek for the prompt “Late Night Conversation”
Summary: Philippe comforts Raoul while he recovers from top surgery.
Warning: Brief mention of suicide (one line), vague description of Victorian surgery (which, after my research for this fic, I can say is more than enough)
