I have to say your Niobe lester au intrigues me sooooooo much like, the choice to make one of the big bass the goddess of innocence and purity? So so cool and interesting

Also I adore how much lester is going through it + how not a single person here knows what’s going on 💕

Any traits and ideals can be villainous enough if you take them to extremes! A lot of Astraea's goals sound noble, except her idea of bringing humanity back to the Golden Age involves a heavy culling, among other things.

And yes I love giving characters SOME of the information and letting them come to reasonable but incorrect conclusions! It's a very fun type of dramatic irony.

So someone in another blog pointed this out and I wanted to hear your thoughts on it: the theory that Percy has the Blood of the Pharaohs. The evidence for it is that he hosted Nekhbet and most of the hosts we’ve seen (the Kanes and Walt) have been the descendants of Pharaohs. The evidence against it is that Menshikov hosted Apophis and he wasn’t a descendant. What are your thoughts?

So my understanding of the magicians in TKC is that being descended from a pharaoh is helpful, but not necessarily required. Anyone can be a magician, but those with Pharaoh blood are gonna be more naturally inclined toward it.

Brooklyn House's residents are all descended from pharaohs but I got the impression it was their Nome's specialty.

That said, Sally Jackson being clearsighted (or at least being less affected by the Mist) suggests there's probably some kind of magical nonsense in her family tree; Blood of the Pharaoh is as good as guess as any.

One thing I'm still struggling with is how much information to give to the demigods at the start. Like, it builds tension if they KNOW Lester is being brainwashed and they know they're on a time limit.

Then again, the relief of the Apollo kids seeing their dad alive and well immediately followed by the horror of realizing he has no idea who they are? Delicious. Wonderful. Love me some angst.

But it stands to reason that the demigods seeing Lester again would probably be when Lester would first get wind of the whole Apollo thing, which throws a wrench in some other plans I have.

(The Egypt kids see how powerful Lester is and put the pieces together and come to a completely incorrect conclusion about his origins and that's a thread I want to play with for a while)

I've long since decided that the demigods finding out about the brainwashing & finding out about the Egypt stuff are going to be two separate reveals. They will definitely spend some time assuming Lester is trapped and helpless, not knowing he's been sneaking out to do magic stuff in Brooklyn.

I'll be rotating this in my head for a while I think.

Lester eventually learns to make a shabti copy of himself to take his place while he's out doing Egypt stuff so his mom doesnt get suspicious. He has a lot of fun goofing off with his doppelganger buddy who is affectionately nicknamed Shabster.

It'd be nice if he had a twin for real 😔

What’s the color palette for your au Lester?

I haven't decided on a specific palette but I imagine him in a lot of earthy tones, particularly reds/oranges/golds. Something in the neighborhood of these guys:

So I have several questions concerning your “Percy is the Eye of Set” AU:

1. Who was the group behind the binding and what were/are they trying to accomplish by doing this?

2. Percy and Set are on a quest it seems; what’s the prophecy surrounding the quest?

3. When does this take place in the PJO timeline? Because Kronos is still kicking around and Annabeth and Percy have met the Kanes.

4. Speaking of Kronos, was he involved in any capacity with the binding of Set and Percy or is he just taking advantage of the situation?

5. How long will Percy and Set be in this situation? A month? Half a year? The rest of Percy’s life? Because Annabeth is going to want to talk to Percy at some point but can’t.

6. This is more a statement than a question, but this has to be the weirdest instance of Greco-Egyptian syncretism that Set’s ever seen.

Ohhh wow did not expect anyone to come in asking about this one!! ❤️❤️ It's on the back burner while I figure out Niobe Fic, but I do have answers for a lot of these!

1. It was a team up between Alabaster Torrington & a group of Rogue Magicians who were still loyal to Menshikov's cause, wanting a way to eradicate gods completely. The reason Percy and Set can't separate is the Greek & Egyptian Magic reacting to each other and making the binding stronger than anyone had anticipated.

2. I hadn't quite worked out these details!

3. It's post-TOA. There was a side plot involving someone gathering the particles of Kronos scattered about Tartarus using [insert technobabble here]

4. He was not involved! I'm not sure he even knew. He wants Percy as a vessel but couldn't take hold because Set was already in there. Rude.

5. Probably a few months.

6. Oh this was only one third of the idea. The ENTIRE idea was actually pretty massive. I wanted to write three stories that intersected: PJO/TKC (Set and Percy), TKC/MCGA (Magnus, Hearth, and Blitz escort one of the Chase Space kids to NYC because the kid got a Brooklyn House Calling Card), and PJO/MCGA (Luke in Valhalla).

All three would have had separate plots that came together at the end. The finer details of that plot haven't quite come together in my head, though :)

I imagine Lester in the kidnapping AU after almost completing his trials just to get kidnapped and brainwashed to do it all over as that one audio that goes “all that work and what did it get me..?” And I’m giggling now

Technically since Python is still alive, the trials are still going and all the same restrictions apply! Lester doesn't remember he's on trial but he's still bound to Meg as her servant. If they're ever in the same room together she could still order them around.

She just has to find him first 😜

First off, this one is a few years old, but I'm still very fond of it! It's a cover I made for my friend's Mighty Max fanfic Downfall, something that I was a big sounding board for.

Next up... I might be cheating a little since this is 4 pictures, but this sequence featuring Dylan Brock and Flash Thompson haunted me for MONTHS before I finally managed to get it down. AND THEN IT PREDICTED A MOMENT IN THE COMICS. I was so delighted.

And lastly... Dylan again, he was lucky enough to be my most relevant blorbo the last time I had time to draw. I don't know how this one turned out so good but I love looking at it!
