Flower Crowns

author's note: thank you @chaos-particle3000 for the adorable idea!! :DD I hope I did it justice lol (sorry for the abrupt ending, I didn't know where else to go with it🥲🥲)

They hissed in annoyance as the daisy ripped once again. The stem hung limp in their fingers from the lackluster "technique" they used to braid it. Yet another link in the chain gone. (hah)

This was supposed to be a relaxing activity to calm down to. However, the amount of broken flowers that landed in the discard pile rather than braided into the flower crown was aggravating to say the very least.

"Stupid flower..." they grumbled under their breath. They startled as something dropped down beside them. It was only when they recognized what the thing was, or rather who it was, that they relaxed.

"Need some help?" the lovely smith asked with an amused smile.

They looked away sheepishly and wordlessly handed him the sad chain of flowers. The stifled laughter that escaped him said enough, but they couldn't really find it in them to care. Not when they were the one that caused his oh-so-fond amusement.

"Babe... how did you manage this??" he asked with mirth in his eyes. They huffed but smiled nonetheless.

"I'm just that talented." They preened at the giggle their response pulled out of him.

"Very true," he said softly as he leaned in to chastely kiss them on the cheek before analyzing the flowers in his hands once again.

"Would you like to retry? I can show you how to properly make a flower crown if you'd like. I do have a bit of a background in flower braiding after all."

His lighthearted boasting earned him their playful jest in return.

"Really?? You???"

"It's really easy if y-" he gasped dramatically. "You wound me!"

"Whoopsies," they teased in a not at all sorry voice.

"Do you even want me to teach you??" he pouted.

They laughed lightly at his playful theatrics and nodded, already reaching for the flowers. The Hero of the Minish grinned and did the same. He would make his little friends proud.

Meteor Shower

author's note: this was inspired by me watching the meteor shower that took place on 8/12/24 lol

They gasped softly and pointed to the starry night sky as a meteor flew by.

"Link, did you see it?" they asked in a quiet, awestruck voice.

Link nodded with a soft hum of affirmation.

"I did," he whispered softly as he turned his head to look at them. He wasn't sure how he was so lucky to get to this point. Laying out in the grassy fields with the one he loved, pretending to watch the meteors shoot across the sky, watching them ooh and aah at the meteors as they passed… Afterall, the heavens held nothing on their heavenly being. They were no doubt an angel or some blessing from the deities of their world.

He smiled softly as he watched them search the stars for another trail of light. He reached out to gingerly take their hand, smiling a little wider at how they blushed softly and squeezed his hand tenderly in return. He relished in the way they glanced at him and blessed his mortal existence with their own seraphic smile.

"…Hey, Link?"

"Yes, angel?"

"..I love you."

He squeezed their hand gently.

"I love you too."

First Kiss

"Y/n..." he whispered softly as his hand reached to gently cup her cheek. She leaned into his touch, her weight shifting over him from the subtle movement."

...Link..?" she whispered back. She watched him with wide eyes as the breeze brushed past them. Their hair followed the path of the cool breeze, as did the grass and flowers, which billowed at the wind's command.

She watched him glance down at her lips before his eyes flicked back up to hers. They both blushed and she couldn't keep herself from returning the action, risking a glance at his lips momentarily as well.

"May I kiss you?" he breathed out, ever the gentleman. She let out a fond huff and smiled shyly as she leaned a little closer.

"Please do," she whispered almost inaudibly. And who was he to deny such a request from his lovely companion? He closed the gap between them and gently pressed his lips against hers, smiling slightly as the girl on top of him gasped ever-so-softly. The kiss was brief, yet it felt like forever at the same time. As they pulled away from each other she let out a shaky breath and hid her face in her hands to hide her blush. Her only consolation was that the hero was in no better shape.

Once the butterflies and fireworks calmed she peaked out of her hands to look at him. He was breathtaking... sunshine bathed him in an almost ethereal way. He grinned to himself and hid his eyes under his arm as he lay under her. She smiled shyly and leaned in to kiss his forehead.

"Link?"

"Yes, Y/n?"

"...Can you do that again?"

She smiled as she watched his grin widen and his blush grow. That was the first of many kisses they shared.
