I’m going to start doing weekly photos of ‘meetings with remarkable trees’. This is an Oak tree in my village, it’s 123 years old and stands over 30m tall with a spread not far off that too. It’s in the prime of it’s life... mature but not veteran yet. With no signs of oak decline or other problems that ageing oak trees get this fella is perfectly happy where he is. The best course of action for this tree is to admire it.

Hey Tumblr, First post!

A little introduction... I’m Tim, I’m an arborist and I run a small tree surgery business in South West of the United Kingdom. I intend to use tumblr to share, hopefully useful, blogs about arboriculture in the UK and everything related to working with trees. Hopefully we can share some knowledge to help answer any questions you may have about maintaining your trees.

We are also in the process of setting up video tutorials and VLOG’s about tree climbing and what it’s like, from an arborists prospective, to be up in the canopy of a tree.
