EHEHEHEHEHEH I CAN FINALLY POST THIS!!!!

this is the first ever time i was in a zine. @zetsubobu one day told me their idea about a ninjago zine where everyone's roles were switched (heroes to villains and vice versa) and i was like "THAT'S A FUCKING AWESOME IDEA"! so they made me the art mod ibvnfjn i never modded anything before so this was a completely new thing to me, but fun nonetheless. i really enjoyed working in this project <3

the overall idea with this au was what if sora and jordana followed different paths later in life as different kids? instead of torturing herself and obsessing over being better than sora, jordana simply gives up the burden and tries different things, eventually meeting the ninja. sora, on the other hand, burns out as she wants to fit, giving up everything once she realises she could be "free" if she joins ras.

If he was right about what he needed for Spinjitzu, if he was right about the trick Sora pulled at the battle of the Blood Moon, if he was right about Master Wu causing The Merge, then… surely he must be right about his parents too?

Fresh off of the events that happened at the end of the Tournament of Sources, Arin is left alone only with an unconscious enemy turned reluctant ally, a mysterious ghost that seems to know quite a bit about Master Lloyd, and his own thoughts. My idea was to show wu if he had been bitten by the great devourer instead! Wu was actually pretty lucky to not get the sword, otherwise he really would've turned out evil!

I had a lot of fun with this piece and I wanted to show the zines main color scheme with it which is red and green!

Here's my design for wu!

I wanted to highlight his dragon heritage with it which is why it has the dragon pattern on his sleeves!

Garmadon wore a thick armor in his design so I decided to go with something light for wu instead. Afterall garmadon thrives from destruction while wu creates so it made more sense for him. Plus I feel like if wu had been bitten he would've tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible (since that man is known for his secrets).

Wu usually wears a lot of white so I decided to go with a black for his clothes in here and his hat is kinda inspired by scaramouche.

The writing on his gown means "sleeping snake" which is a reference to how he would try to hide the evil coursing in his body until he can't anymore. Like waiting for a snake to wake up and come and bite you
