Astarion didn't like to contemplate the idea that they were going to die, again in his case. The more he thought about the current situation, the worse it made him feel and Astarion wasn't going to accept that. He didn't have full control over his life, but he certainly had more control than he had in the past several centuries, and he was going to exercise that fully and completely.

"Well, as far as I am concerned, we should talk less about dying and more about drinking and fucking." He raised the goblet he was holding up as though he were toasting Lestat and then tipped it back down his throat. He tried to avoid grimacing at the taste. It was shit wine but shit wine was really better than nothing at all.

Padme smiled a little at Obi-Wan as she worked on untying her braids, having already removed the pins that had kept them positioned in an elegant coronet on her head. She could have had assistance but even when she had been Queen, she had insisted on doing such things herself. It was almost part of a ritual, to help her move towards a position of relaxation. It was a crucial part of how she could maintain her own mental and emotional wellbeing even in the face of considerable stress.

She felt that she knew Obi-Wan well enough that she didn't mind performing such a thing in front of him, and she knew that he wouldn't mind and if he did for some reason, he would turn his back. He was a good man with a good heart. Padme could see goodness in people easily and there was a large well of that within the Jedi. She did have some issues with his Order at times, but not with him.

"You are going to be here for quite some time then Obi-Wan." Padme replied, her fingers moving in a familiar pattern as she considered him. "If you are going to stay, then you might as well get comfortable." Padme gestured with a gentle inclination of her head towards the seating area towards the middle of the room.

Nimerah thought that she was used to the odd quirks that Helaena exhibited but there were moments when it was just too much and she couldn't quite control her concern and sometimes fear. This was one of those moments. The mere thought of scratching in the walls, of what could be in the walls and scratching, was enough to cause a slight shiver to shoot down her spine. She crossed the distance between them and sat down next to Helaena. With others she cared about, she would reach out for them, hold their hands or press against their shoulder but not with Helaena. Even as she sat down, she made sure that there was space between them and that she wasn't touching Helaena in any way. She respected the Princess, loved her in her own way, and didn't want to ever make her more uncomfortable than she already could be.

"It's probably just rats right? So, we'll call for the rat catcher and everything will be fine." Her voice was soft, gentle and sweetly tender. Nimerah had been raised well and raised right, able to ensure that her concerns were hidden beneath. That was part of being a Lannister and something that they all had to learn in order to survive and thrive and enrich the noble reputation of their house. She hated it sometimes, but since ingratiating herself in Kings Landing, she understood why it was a necessity.

Clytemnestra snorted in a manner that was entirely unladylike but she really didn't care in that moment. The thought of Penelope and Helen, especially Helen, unleashing their anger on Agamemnon was amusing. It likely wouldn't accomplish anything good but at least he would know that the Spartan blood was strong in more than just her. She would not give in to him and his demands easily and she had been well trained as they all were, but at the end of the day he had fought and killed and she had only trained to build strength but never to actually fight on the scale of what a man would. She supposed if he did prove to be a brute, she could always threaten to slip a knife between his ribs. She knew she could do it, easily, even if her fingers were broken. She didn't need all of them to accomplish that task, as had been tested when she had fallen out of a tree and broken a few things.

"I do too, but, that isn't possible, which I find it to be grossly unfair." Clytemnestra replied, her words accompanied with a tightening of her pressed lips. It was not the only grossly unfair thing in her life but getting into that particular subject wouldn't be helpful in any way.

"We must visit with each other after our weddings. After all, we will be Queen's then, won't we?"

Penelope had always been close to her cousins, they were raised more like sisters than cousins, Helen was the beauty, Penelope was the brains and Clytemestra was the heart.

Gale wouldn't have been exactly pleased if anyone had tried to set him on fire, but it was different with Karlach. She hadn't intentionally set out to damage him or his robe. She hadn't asked for the life she had been given, the curse that was slowly consuming her. At least with his own, it had been a result of his own actions and he truly couldn't blame anyone other than himself and his capriciousness.

"Think nothing of it. I have plenty of these. An entire wardrobe of them back in Waterdeep in fact." He replied, his tone light as he reassured her. He had mixed feelings about returning to Waterdeep, of the parting that was fast approaching. He did not bond with people all that well or often in his own estimation, but what they had been through, and what was on the horizon, it had changed everything for him.

"I will make sure to send you plenty of letters with the largest words I know."

Gale was being genuine and he smiled warmly at Karlach. She wouldn't have been his first choice for a companion on an adventure but he was glad of her presence. She had a good soul, Gale had met enough people to recognise the virtuous from the deplorable and she had been through trials the likes of which no one should have experienced. Then again, they had all experienced trials that they shouldn't have had to suffer and yet they had all come through it on the other side, stronger than they had been before, even if they still sometimes felt weak.
