            Leaving that exchange left Taishiro exhaling suddenly as if he held his breath for that whole conversation. He could already feel the butterflies in his stomach from the insinuation that this could be a date of some kind with Emi. It had been years since he’s last done something like this with her in particular. And he can’t help, but still feel those first love high school feelings resurface again when he got to be so close to her. Using old nicknames and still noting that familiar twinkle in her eye of adoration. He starts smiling to himself as he tries to find the place he had in mind with the food she wanted.

After finding said establishment and grabbing their takeout order of Thai food, he heads towards Emi’s apartment. Talking approximately a half hour close to 45 minutes getting everything together. Once he arrives he takes a deep breath and knocks on her door, waiting for her arrival like a nervous teenager going on their first date. 

Emi jumped only a little bit when she heard the knock on her door. Turning the music on her phone down a little more she scurried up from the couch and hurried over to the door before taking a deep breath, smoothing down the front of her shirt and then opening the door. 

“Tai! Come on in,” she said, smiling widely as she stepped to the side and gestured to her entry way.  “Thanks for picking the food up. I’ve got drinks! There is water, some energy drinks, juice and um..wine.” Was she babbling a little? Maybe? This wasn’t the first time he’d been over to her place, but there was just a different...tension in the air. Their were butterflies in her stomach and she was somehow a little nervous yet excited all at the same time.

“Everything smells delicious. I can’t wait to dig in.”

             He starts to blush more from the joke / innuendo she made of his person. He starts to grin though despite it and leans in some when she speaks. Chuckling softly at her little slip up and kisses her back when she reaches for him, bending to make sure she reaches. 

“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure t’have ‘em both hot and ready for ya when I’m back.”

He winks and starts pulling up his phone to look for some places nearby that have Thai food available for takeout. 

She smirked at him, enjoying their little flirting exchange. It had been so long since she’d felt this giddy. After one last squeeze of the hand and a wave Emi departed, hurrying back to her place to quickly tidy up. Honestly, she wasn’t really that messy because she did very little in her apartment as she was normally out or sleeping, but these were little things here and there she shoved in her closet quickly (to be taken care of later).

15 minutes later the apartment was suitably clean and Emi was trying to act “chill” on the couch while she tried not to look at her phone waiting for Tai to get there so instead she put some music on and hummed along to it to distract herself.

I just realized it’s exactly a month until I turn 29.

“Yes!”

             That answer came out way too soon than he meant to. He laughs it off and nods quickly trying to play it cool.

“Lemme know your cravin’ and I’ll pick it up. Meet ya there?”

She smiles brightly at his automatic response. “Hmmm, I’ve been kinda craving Thai Food lately,” she said completely serious until she realized saying that out loud also sounded a lot like Tai Food and she could help bitting her lip to stop herself from laughing though a blush definitely crept up her face. 

“But sure. I can head home and make sure my place is suitable for company,” she said before learning up on her tip toes to plant a kiss on his lips. “Don’t take too long though. I’m awfully hungry.” Now she was just leaning into her double meaning food request.

“Course not! I don’t mind at all..”

             He lets out a small sigh, feeling blush crawl over his cheeks from the soft moment being shared. He squeezes her hand back gently as well before finally letting go to rub the back of his neck. 

“I don’t mind anythin’ ya do if I’m honest.”

Emi gave him a bright smile and leaned into him a little. “Right back at ya Teddy Bear. Say, would you be interested in picking up some take out and coming over to my place? My treat. I just don’t really want the night to end yet.”

             He can’t help the butterflies in his stomach that came when she said the familiar nickname. It makes him smile more and lower her hand so he was simply holding it and not straining her to reach his face. He lets out a small sigh and nods. 

“Likewise Tulip… you’re floodin’ a lotta memories back talkin’ like that.”

She smiled softly up at him, her face heating up a little at him calling her by her old nickname. 

“Maybe that was my goal. I just couldn’t really help myself.” She gave his hand a soft squeeze. “You don’t mind do you?“

             He lowers his hand when it’s grabbed by her, gripping her hand in return to kiss her palm while she spoke. His gaze softening significantly when she says what she does and he starts smiling a lot more bashful now.

“Now you’re just flatterin’ me.”

She returns his soft gaze for one of her own. “I’m just speaking the truth, like I always do. You were my first love after all. I’m always gonna think that face is handsome and very cute when you blush Teddy Bear.”

“Don’t ya add onto this ! ! ! ”

“How could I miss out on the chance to see your cute face blushing like that, huh?” she asked elbowing him in the side lightly before reaching out to try to grab a hand away from his face. 

“I missed seeing you blush. And being the reason you’re doing it.”

“I forgot how easy it was to make you blush Tai,” Emi said smirking lightly. “I also forgot how cute you are when you blush.”
